  1. It seemed to work fine here upgrading from SABnzbd 0.6.7 on unraid 4.7/unmenu and now at SABnzbd 0.6.9 Thank You!
  2. http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0335714 Not bad at 117
  3. Forte Agent and altopia huh? those were the grand old days before nzb's. I don't think anything comes close to sabnzbd for binary's. SSL is just a click away (assuming your usenet provider provides SSL) number of connections - how many concurrent connections you can have to the server at one time - with a fair to good server you should be able to max out your bandwidth of your ISP with less than 10 connections. It depends on the route to your providers servers and providers servers speed. I have a 25 Mbps connection to my ISP - it takes about 6 to 7 concurrent connections to use all the 25 Mbps bandwidth with astraweb. ( shows average speeds of 2.8, 2.9 MB/s)
  4. This is the best I've seen. I've been with astraweb for a few years so I can vouch for the speed and completeness, are there any better? http://www.news.astraweb.com/specials/voucher.cgi?t=xbh4sze9c23dttj
  5. Thank you, I reseated the card in a new slot and replaced the cable. That seems to have cured the problem. syslog-2011-03-13.txt
  6. I ordered two of these cards, I'm getting a few errors in the syslog although they seem to work fine. I only have one drive connected to the the cards at this time. any ideas? (syslog attached) syslog-2011-03-12.txt
  7. use the Sabnzb web page and click on shutdown. I use plush theme so it's under the Sabnzbd menu item. On sickbeard web page (version alpha master) the shutdown menu is under the little wrenches on the top left. You must also stop any other programs you have running on the cache drive - then unmount it with the umount command.
  8. Sector 63, and they seem faster than the WD20EARS drives with jumpers BTW. At least they precleared faster by more than a couple hours. Time will tell.
  9. Just wanted to add I've maxed out my plus lic and onboard sata controllers (7 drives) with no problems. I'm really happy with this MB. parity device: pci-0000:00:1f.2-scsi-1:0:0:0 host1 (sdb) WDC_WD20EARS-00MVWB0_WD-WMAZA1084194 disk1 device: pci-0000:00:1f.2-scsi-3:0:0:0 host3 (sdd) ST32000542AS_5XW19HLN disk2 device: pci-0000:00:1f.2-scsi-0:0:0:0 host0 (sda) ST32000542AS_5XW1K5B8 disk3 device: pci-0000:02:00.0-scsi-1:0:0:0 host7 (sdg) Hitachi_HDS5C3020ALA632_ML0220F30EB3YD disk4 device: pci-0000:00:1f.2-scsi-5:0:0:0 host5 (sdf) Hitachi_HDS5C3020ALA632_ML0220F30E91VD disk5 device: pci-0000:00:1f.2-scsi-4:0:0:0 host4 (sde) WDC_WD1001FALS-00J7B1_WD-WMATV4406662 cache device: pci-0000:00:1f.2-scsi-2:0:0:0 host2 (sdc) WDC_WD5000AAKS-00TMA0_WD-WCAPW4637359
  10. Drives cleared perfectly with a Total Elapsed Time 25:07:52 and a high temp of 27c. No changes in the smart report, No problems adding to the array and the formatted size is correct.

  12. Oh rats, you were supposed to tell me they will be fine after partitioned. Here's the syslog. Never owned a gigabyte board. syslog-2011-02-08.txt
  13. I foresee a problem up coming with the two new Hitachi 5K3000 HD's I received today. Both disks are being precleared now, looking at the disks in unmenu I see that they are reporting a size of 1,953,514,584 where as my existing disks all report 1,953,514,552. Is this going to be a problem assigning them as data disks or will the size be smaller when they are formatted?
  14. Where is the syslog? http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=9880.0
  15. I have two SNT bays (7 HDD slots) in my server. I gave up on those fans completely and bought one 120mm fan to replace the three jet engines in the SNTs. I used 90d SATA cables and a custom power supply cable to keep a low profile and made a frame around the back of the SNT bays to hold the 120mm fan (I mocked it up with cardboard and duct tape - it worked so well I never made the real one I was planning to out of plastic.
  16. Just to let you know the cron job fired right on time - First Tuesday of the month. Thanks again.
  17. After the last few weeks of up-time I had a bit of maintenance to do on the server and I decided to move the USB drive inside while I had the case open. From the logs, about 5 hours later my USB drive crashed. Unraid seemed to keep working fine, the preclear script I was running finished ok, I didn't even notice it had crashed as I halfway monitored the preclear screens. It wasn't until today when I tried to access unmenu that I noticed something was wrong. When I ssh'd in, everything seemed fine except the /boot/* files were MIA. Attached is the syslog - does anybody have an idea of what happened? After shutting down I checked the USB drive from windows and ran chkdsk and everything seemed fine so I reinstalled it and the server started right up. Oh, I had grabbed and taken apart one of those two port external rear card slot USB headers to attach the USB drive to the MB, I stuck it on top of the power supply with double sided tape - after the crash I moved it to a new location thinking the power supply might have interfered with the drive function but that's just a wild ass guess. PS Maybe we could allow rar files along with zip files to be uploaded, no big deal though. Ken syslog.zip
  18. Hello again. When using 'echo' and redirecting the output to a file, the date command executes no matter the quotes, how do I write what I want written to the file and not the result? ie: echo "[ "$(date '+%a')" == "Tue" ]" >/tmp/test result; [ Sun == Tue ] The desired result would be: [ "$(date '+%a')" == "Tue" ]
  19. no, no, no, not the SNT (your link) if you want quite! Those thing keep frost on the drive but they sound just like a jet idling.
  20. The 4.6 kernel is compiled to only use four cores. syslog reports; Dec 4 11:40:45 kingsnake kernel: 8 Processors exceeds NR_CPUS limit of 4 Dec 4 11:40:45 kingsnake kernel: SMP: Allowing 4 CPUs, 0 hotplug CPUs and only initializes four. (this is an i3-540 so I don't know why it's reporting 8 processors) You could compile a new kernel I suppose.
  21. First try a different port in your switch - sometimes one can go bad - then try a different cable, and last I'd put in a new network card. I'm partial to the Intel PRO1000's myself. Of course if you have a box full of network cards and cables - do it all at once
  22. I don't think UNRAID supports 6 cpu cores, it will only use four as far as I know with the current (4.6) kernel.
  23. I'm still waiting for 69.99 again<g> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136514
