Good file manager for UNRAID? webmin ? filebrowser ? Dynamix File Manager ?
Forinstance, I wanted to know "where" my .mp3 files are. First time: nothing (as I had to select the locations I was searching) then a search of .mp3 found nothing. then I searched for *.mp3 brought the above. The terminal is better, and I'll learn terminal over time, but for now I just need to understand the "nix filesystem landscape" in the mean time.

Good file manager for UNRAID? webmin ? filebrowser ? Dynamix File Manager ?
I'm trying to increase my knowledge of "where contents end up" on UNRAID. where the dockers lie, where my shares are, relative to the rest of the filesystem. Filebrowser, Dynamix File Manager are two discussed although the latter is apparently integrated into the filesystem. I have tried the integrated filesystem but it seems to direct me to parts of the the filesystem, but I can't see the overall perspective of the filesystem. Any other ideas ? I've used Webmin in the past. i don't see it in the community Apps. i'm also wondering if webmin isn't appropriate as im the only person ever to use it in a title of a forum post.

After UNRAID reboot, my SAMBA shares would not return - how can the shared drive link be refreshed withOUT a Windows PC reboot ?
When I rebooted my UNRAID, started the array, I noticed my SAMBA shares were down. In Windows, samba share with other windows PCs just require you to click the "inactive / not working" samba link and it refreshes. I had a feeling if I rebooted the windows PC the shared drive would work. And it did (image to the right). Are there any other ways to refresh the connection without rebooting windows ?

How do I increase the size of the docker image?
This provides no help for the newb. Probably worse. The UNRAID UI was made from the perspective of the elite coders that make the underlying code, NOT the perspective of a newbie new user. Herein lies the problem.

Unintuitive, non-discoverable User Interface issues with UNRAID (from the perspective of the learner)
One noble goal for UNRAID should be to make the software easier to use to enable more users to use the software. As I learn the software, I'll try to document here what I felt was unintuitive. This is a perspective that only a learner knows and these problems "go away" very quickly after you learn them. But why make things needlessly hard for new user$ ? Example one: You need to disable Docker to see where you change the Docker vDisk size. First off, I do understand that to actually change the size of the vDisk, Docker does need to be disabled. What I feel is unintuitive is I can't know where I change the vDisk size unless I disable the Docker. What makes it "worse" is that I can change many settings without disabling Docker, but not the size. To me the size setting is needlessly buried. The image shows two possible options to help the Docker vDisk size setting to be more discoverable. Please consider implementing.

How do I increase the size of the docker image?
2 changes, either of which could help the newbies. One involves just adding text which could be implemented very easily. So easy, but no one thinks of the newbs. Please help the newbs. It could be implemented today. Surely the moderators here know how many newbs ask "How can I change the vDisk size????". UNRAID's goal should be to make the software as easy as possible. Burying the size change information in the stopped Docker makes no sense from the newb's perspective.

Two issues: (1) Samba shares stopped working (2) License State Mismatch.
I rebooted and that seemed to work. I deleted all the credentials related to the UNRAID. is there a way of knowing the login/password being used to connect to the SAMBA share ? I'm pretty sure it must be my windows login and password. Nothing is in the Credential Manager I did add my Windows Login and Password as a UNRAID user. Except my Windows login is a capital and UNRAID wanted no capital. Seems to work.

No. in /boot/config. I tried to rename Trial.key to Trial.old with just rename Trial.key Trial.old "not enough arguments"

I've tried to avoid rebooting the UNRAID, anything else to try before I do that ?

I'm having this issue on a windows 10 box. I rebooted the Windows 10 box but no luck. C:\Windows\system32>net use New connections will be remembered. Status Local Remote Network ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unavailable M: \\192.168.1.30\mdrive Microsoft Windows Network Unavailable U: \\192.168.1.30\udrive Microsoft Windows Network The command completed successfully. Is it possible this issue impacts my ability to install my newly purchased UNRAID key ?

Getting UNRAID in the hands of the people: Is it possible to sell "plug and play" UNRAID at retail (eg. "bestbuy") ?
Will drop to zero as Windows wants your PC to be an AI controlled dumb terminal. They will eventually drop SAMBA shares. They recently dropped SAMBA 1.1

When trying to save a post edit, I have to click [Edit Topic] ?
When I post a new topic, I have to submit the topic. When I am finished editing a topic, I should have to: ? I'm already editing, and I'm actually done! I like [Save Edit] but I'd accept (or just simple [Save]) ... I'm sure Invision is like Xenforo and button phrases are easily edited. The plot thickens as I see a Save button now: Do I see a Save Button because it's the second post ? That's even weirder Invision.

Getting UNRAID in the hands of the people: Is it possible to sell "plug and play" UNRAID at retail (eg. "bestbuy") ?
Is it just me or could everyone use a lil UNRAID in their life ? But they likely won't know about it. What percent of Americans even know what NAS stands for ? Define "plug and play" I see "Best Buy" UNRAID as directly plugging into a person's modem/router. Then going to a browser and being interviewed as to the functions you want. "Backing up files", "shared drive", "media server" as 3 major categories. After the interview is over, UNRAID deploys what it needs, and base functionality is ready to go. Or is this just a fantasy ? Maybe for +$50 you get one hour of one on one tech support (live person to person) and 2 hours of AI help (or whatever units AI help is sold in). And Best Buy could try to sell you "Nerds on Site" help for a fee. There are alot of people who would benefit from UNRAID and aren't price conscious.

Ideas for documenting the "Topology" of my digital infrastructure [[UNRAID, Home Network, Syncthing, SMB shares ... ]]
My digital infrastructure is getting busy. I am hoping to document after I get something working, so when it breaks 9 months later I know what I am trying to repair. One part I'd like to document is "the overall" topology (design) of it. On some big whiteboard, with nice boxes and arrows. What software are people using for this ? Visio ? Excalidraw - https://excalidraw.com/ ? (infinite whiteboard)(free) Canvas for Obsidian ? Excalidraw for Obsidian ? What are other people doing to document their infrastructure ?

Unraid 7 / Add Container / ERROR: Couldn't detect persistent Docker directory for .tailscale_state!
I installed this docker (docker-obsidian-livesync-couchdb) ERROR: Couldn't detect persistent Docker directory for .tailscale_state! Please enable Tailscale Advanced Settings in the Docker template and set the Tailscale State Directory manually! Not sure how to figure out my Livesync-CouchDB docker container's Tailscale State directory Docker container data: /opt/unraid/tailscale/ <-> /usr/local/share/docker/tailscale_container_hook the default appdata storage location for my dockers is: /mnt/user/appdata/ but I dont see a obsidian-livesync-couchdb in there I see: obsidian/ qbittorrent/ syncthing/ youtube-audio/ youtube-subscriptions/ youtube-video/ youtubedl-material/ I can't seem to find where my couchDB is. I found the docker containers: /var/lib/docker/containers I found the appropriate location via this: I think the answer is easier: in your list of docker containers: http://192.168.1.xx/Docker use the volume mapping I have circled in red. Note: that was show in my first image in the post.

Interested in this. New to UNRAID. I do have Obsidian running as a DOCKER, so I should be able to get this running. I don't have either of those. Are they required ? My needs would be for: (1) general transcription (home) (2) medical transcription (office) (3) general transcription (office). I guess what I need for is more Medical AI scribe than Medical Transcription (need #2). Like https://www.heidihealth.com/product/transcribe-dictate Still interested in the transcription aspects.
