  1. One more quick question please? I'm assuming to replace my current card its a plug-n-play swap and don't have to get into the BIOS at all? I ordered a StarTech.com SATA PCIe Card - 2 Port PCIe SATA Expansion Card - 6Gbps - Full/Low Profile - PCI Express to SATA Adapter/Controller - ASM1061 Non-Raid - PCIe to SATA Converter (2P6G-PCIE-SATA-CARD)
  2. Great, that is what i will do, thank you so much!
  3. Great, just downloaded a diag zip. It;s in the middle of a parity check, if that matters? I appreciate your help!
  4. I built my UnRaid server in 2011 in a small Lian Li case, 7 total hdd. My MB is ASUS M4A785T-M with 6 internal SATA ports. I bought at the same time a 2-port sata card, so this gave me 5-data drives, 1-Parity, and 1 Cache, with one spare sata port on the card. The card is installed in a PCIe x 1 slot. I assume this is a single lane slot? My question, I would like to add one more HDD. Will the PCIe x 1 slot handle a 2nd or 3rd drive and not slow things down? I can't remember the brand of card from 2011? When I do a Parity all the drives are running at about 130MB/s. I don't mind buying a new/different 2-port or 4-port card, or what ever I need? What do you think? Thanks, Tom
  5. Got it, dumb me! What are the blue icons? After thinking about it, probably means staged, next... Do you please have any tips on how to delete? I know this can be complicated, and dangerous. I figured out Midnight Commander, and deleted what was necessary. Thanks for your help, unbalanced is a great program!
  6. Thank you for replying, I appreciate! Here's my history tab, I don't see either green or red icons? Oh wait, is it the green icon in the unbalanced bar top left? If it is, that means I should not delete? I'm sorry, a little new to this. If I do want to delete in the future, How, a separate program for deleting files and folders?? Thanks, Tom
  7. I used “Move” to start a move from my #1 disk to # 4 disk, just to balance out a bit. It was going to take about 14 hours, so I stopped it after about 5 minutes. I understand it copies and only deletes from the source at the end of the move, I’ve used it before. My question please, since it only copied some files to disk #4, and I aborted, and the files are still on #1, can I delete them from #4? Thanks, Tom
  8. Thanks! Is the best procedure to back-up the flash drive, to simply copy the contents to a folder on my windows machine?
  9. I purchased a WD - easystore® 8TB External, and shucked the drive for my UnRaid server. It happened to be a white drive (WD80EMAZ) so I had to cover pin-3 with Kapton tape, no problem works great. I read a lot in these forums about the beta PreClear plugin might not be compatible so I didn't do PreClear (I shouldn't be in such a rush!). I have the latest PreClear version now, but too late... Anyway, Since I was replacing a drive I did a Parity-Check/Rebuild, all turned out well. I then did an Extended SMART test, it finished with no errors. I wish I would of done a PreClear for peace of mind, now I just hope for the best.
  10. Another question please. Do you think it's a good idea to replace the USB drive because it's 8 years old? Or should I just let it be?
  11. I built my UnRaid server in 2010 with all 2TB drives. I'm now upgrading to 8TB drives. So far I have done the Parity drive and two data drives. In 2010 Lime-Technology sent me two JD_Firefly 2GB flash drives. Back then the other one was a back-up. I'm thinking about updating at least one of my flash drives because of age. What should I get (size and manufacturer(looking for the best)), and how do I move the contents and license? Thanks!
  12. Thanks, I will do one at a time. Appreciated! Tom
  13. I have an UnRaid server with (5) data drives and (1) Parity drive. My Parity drive is 8TB. I would like to replace (2) of my 2TB data drives with (2) 8TB data drives. Can I replace them both at the same time?
  14. Great video's, I also watched your preclear video. I have a question please. I would like to upgrade one of my (5) data drives to a larger size (my parity drive is already larger). I would like to preclear the new drive first. Is it OK to physically remove and replace the old data drive with the new one and start the preclear? Or do I have to leave the old drive in while I'm preclearing the new drive? I don't have the physical or MB capacity for more than (5) data drives at any one time. I replaced a drive a couple of years ago but didn't preclear it. This time I want to preclear. Thanks Since I posted this a few minutes ago, I've been reading the preclear thread and it looks like preclear might not be necessary anymore? I'm running 6.5.3... I have a few windows 10 boxes with free sata ports. Should I check my new 8tb wd drive with that?
  15. It just finished an extended SMART test, took about 6 hours (2TB). It passed with no errors. I guess I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks!
  16. Thanks, this is a 2TB WD drive. I'm still at 10%, must take a long time?
  17. Thanks, I'm running an Extended SMART test now. If it passes, is it a false positive, or could it still be going bad?
  18. Hello, I have this notification, is it something to worry about? Should I get a new drive? Thanks, unRAID Disk 1 SMART health [197]: 01-07-2018 07:09 AM Warning [TOWER] - current pending sector is 1
