  1. Thanks - no yellow marked command for the operation no (And hence I can't see any button to delete the folders). Tried to do the second run (Is that really the workflow here?). Unbalanced got stuck in plan mode. Refreshed and tried again. Would only allow me to do one folder at a time (Kept saying destination was full which given it was just an empty folder obvious was not the case). Got there in the end. Thanks
  2. Hi - I am using unbalanced to scatter one of the disks that is getting too full. Everything seems to work but it leaves the folders behind on the original disk (Using move). Pretty sure from memory when I was using the old plugin it didn't do this. How do I get it to move the folder as well as the files within going forward and what is the easy way to delete the 10 or so folders left behind on the old disk? Thanks!
  3. Thanks @JorgeB I feared so but was hoping I was maybe missing something! I have RMA’d the two discs and sent them back to WD. Will try again. At least I got rid of the CA Marvel warning!!
  4. Hi, I have spent countless hours and read post after post to try and solve my issue but I am struggling. I am running Unraid 6.12.3. Diagnostics attached as well as Array Screenshot and screenshot of log with one of the drives connected showing error messages on it. I purchased two new WD Red Plus 10TB drives. I replaced the 4TB Parity with one of the 10TB drives and all was good, parity rebuilt. I then attached the second 10TB drive and run a Preclear and this finished successfully. Finally I swapped out the 3TB (XFS drive) with the preclear drive. Not all good. This is when things derailed. I got multiple errors were the two drives connected to my Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 SATA Card and could not get the array to come back online. I have ended up back where I started (finally got the array to see the 'missing' drives connected to the SATA card and rebuilt the parity onto the original 4TB drive). When I try to connect either of the 10TB drives now it sees them, I select one of them as the parity and it does nothing. Just refreshes and disappears and it is showing in the unassigned devices (And doesn't appear on the dropdown list anymore to add as parity) I have purchased and installed a new SATA card as I know the marvel based AOC-SASLP-MV8 is known to cause issues (it has never caused me issues in +5 years) with LSI 9207-8i Supermicro card and installed it and that was seamless. But still I cannot get my server to do anything useful with the 10TB drives. If I connect via onboard SATA it seems it but then won't let me add to array. If I connect via the new SATA card it doesn't even see them. I have plugged them into another Windows based PC and they seem to show there ok. If I try and run a SMART test on them nothing happens and on the attributes page is says Unable to detect device type. Are both my new 10TB drives faulty? The second one I ran the preclear on I started this with the drive sitting out on top of the case (Case it full - plan was to preclear and then swap out it with the 3TB one) and it did get to a high temperature before I realised what I had done and put a fan on it to cool but I don't believe it got +45 (Not sure how to check). And the other disc I had already installed as parity it did start to run a parity check a few days after I installed it and was hitting high temps as it was up at the top in the 5.25" where there is no fan so I relocated the disc down lower in the case and reconnected it and this is when things derailed mentioned above. Anymore info needed let me know! Thanks for any help. unraid-diagnostics-20230825-1807.zip
  5. Another person with this issue - WD Red 4TB HDD. Currently running it again behind I stumbled across this thread and realised I was not the only one getting the error.
  6. Thanks guys - after I created this thread I actually e-mailed Seasonic direct and they came back to say they would pop one PSU to SATA cable set in the post. Awesome service...as per your experience with Antec Squid. Nice customer service! I assume then the horror story of wrecking hard drives shouldn't apply as I am using the correct cable direct from manufacturer even if I am plugging in 3 SATA cable sets (only 2 came originally with it) as there seems there are 2x6pin plug points still free? I could test on an old hard drive first... AOC-SASLP-MV8 card arrived y'day, fitted it and so far so good. Checked the BIOS and it is at 0.21 and turned off INT 13...just got to wait for the iPass to SATA cables and HD now...
  7. I am adding a 7th hard drive to my unraid server and as I have filled all 6 SATA ports on my motherboard I have been educating myself on getting more SATA ports via a PCI card. I have just ordered a Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 card plus iPass to 4xSata cables based on what I have read as it seems that unraid v5 supports this card with drivers plus I have a Supermicro MB and find it to be excellent. I am very much an amateur whenever it comes to all things unraid so stick with me...some questions, [*]Can anyone see any hardware issues with my spec and this new card (listed in my signature...)? [*]Is there a guide for actually fitting the card, connecting the hard drive, getting it up and running etc... - in my head it is just a matter of powering down my server, fitting the card to a PCI-E 3.0 slot, connecting the hard drive, powering up the system and the hard drive will be recognised to allow me to pre-clear? [*]I noticed a lot of discussion around bios version on both the MB and the card. Is it recommended to update your MB bios and the card bios to the latest straight away? (My MB is currently on 2.0b - the latest out there is 2.20.) [*]I just noticed after I purchased the card that my PSU only has x6 SATA power connections - is there a way round this as I will need a 7th? I.e. can you purchase a PSU to SATA modular lead separately? (Actual image below) [*]Should I be concerned about my PSU powering a 7th drive & SAS card? Thanks All!
  8. Thanks itimpi - I have done what you suggested and manually sorted through my shares abit and then updated my allocation method to 'most free' so hopefully that will sort everything. The mover problem were traces of the files were being left has now been completely sorted. Thanks for you time - appreciated.
  9. Thanks - reading up on split levels I see what you mean I think. I have all my folders (movies, DVDR Rips, Music Videos Etc...) set to level 1. I have TV Shows set to level 2. My thinking here originally from memory was I just wanted to make sure the TV seasons of a particular show did not get spread across multiple disks. For the movies I wanted to keep all the files within a movie folder on the same disk but did not care what disk the movie went on. So my movie share is simply 'unraid\movies\movie folder' Is my setup wrong here then? Should I be knocking all the shares down to split level 2 and TV Shows down to level 3? I will setup the minimum free space as well. I think I understand the allocation of high-water OK I am satisfied this is the right setting for me ATM. Last night I started the process of manually moving some of the files off the disks which were full. The mover has run last night and this seems to have solved the problem as it has successful moved some (not all yet as I need to free some space up on some more disks) of the files from it. I will test further here now. Thanks!
  10. I am running unRAID Server Plus version 5.0.5 with a cache drive which has been working perfectly up until recently. Recently the mover has left copies of files on the Cache drive. Originally I thought it was a problem outlined in this thread Extended Attributes Fix and I did try running what was recommended but found I was getting the below repeatedly so I assumed this was not the problem. root@unraid:~# getfattr –d /mnt/disk1/Movies getfattr: –d: No such file or directory root@unraid:~# I then noted that 3 or my 4 drives are full, Would this be causing the problem and am I doing something stupid here - should the mover not know to use the free 4th disk? Also - is there a way to 'spread' out the data so I do not have 3 drives sitting full or does this not really matter? 11. OK I finally got it (relief...!). And I really don't know what it was (which is frustrating I know). But I am going with the single LAN connecting into LAN 1 and the jumper disabling LAN 2 (I also used a new USB Memory Stick/new copy of unRaid in there along the way too somewhere which may have been part of the solution!) Now for the next challenge...
  12. Thanks for the reply - I set the jumper to disable LAN2 (middle jumper of the three on the board) and left the other two jumpers untouched. Attached cable to LAN1 and booted but still no luck. IMPI does work OK and I can access board view IPMI View but again no IP address showing. I also tried disabling both LAN 1 and LAN 2 with jumpers and connecting to the IPMI port (beside the USB points) and disabling LAN 1 via jumpers and booting using LAN 2 - again neither of these allowed an IP address to be shown. Each time I am using 'ifconfig eth0' - this is right isn't it? From what I have read I know it is possible and it is just a simple/frustrating setup issue - its just finding what the setup is!
  13. I have just built a new server which I was hoping to run unRAID on - build thread HERE (going for the Seasonic PSU in the end) I was able to get it built and running with no problems, load unRaid 5.0 onto a memory stick and boot from it. That is as far as I have been able to get - I cannot get it to connect to the network/display an IP address. I have searched for hours to try and find the solution, tried difference LAN ports (there is a dedicated IPMI port and 2xLAN ports), changed jumper settings, tried unRaid 4.7. The board is running bios 2.0b. The threads I have used for help, http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=21578.0 http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=21530.0 http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=26044.0 http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=21839.0 http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=26403.0 Can anyone help please? The only thing I have left to try is carrying the router up and putting it beside it and testing without going through the switch but TBH I can't see how this is going to help as I have tried the CAT5 points in the wall and they definitely both work Also - can someone give a clear answer on exactly what you are 'supposed' to have connected? I.e. should I always have a ethernet cable connected to the IPMI one (if I want this feature) and then a second one connected to one of the LAN ports? Screenshot from IPMI View Thanks!
  14. Didn't realise your point on the efficiency/working in the low range - makes sense. Ideally I obviously want to leave room for expansion up to say 8 drives max so I think I can drop down to a 450W PSU. Thinking the Seasonic SS-450RM should be good - I see it was one of the ones a fellow member of the board went for in your linked thread (Although he didn't confirm whether it is actually compatible or not!) If the SS-550RM was in stock I would probably go for that but I think even upgrading to a possible 8 drives the 450W should more than cover it (and save me a bit of money to..!) Thanks!
