  1. I have one of these sitting on my case floor between the case drives and my psu in my lian li case http://www.coolermaster.com/product/Detail/case/case-accessories/4-in-3-device-module.html take a few meassurements and see if it can sit on top of your PSU ... just put some rubber mat between it for vibration noises... mine is sitting on an old mouse mat ...
  2. Speeding_ant and what about the promise to make SF features work with the new GUI ? i hate missing my scheduled parity checks... smart logs and the simple page refresh from SF .... if we don't get that then forget about the new gui and please upgrade SF again ... at least then we get somewhere... been a month and nothing is changed on this ... there are at least a few bugs already found in the new gui... Maybe Tom better fires Tom 2 and hires a web guy if he wants to have more revenue from Unraid... making bla bla doesn't sell servers... a nice good working GUI will .. if it can stand up against the other NAS out there... because face it .. the masses are afraid of the command line .. they will venture into something if it has a nice GUI...
  3. There's a workaround for the SSL issue: http://langui.sh/2013/08/27/appletv-ssl-plexconnect/ and i made a plexconnect plugin in the plugins forum ... easy to upgrade versions of plexconnect
  4. since i see that you come from 4.7... Please be sure to have the last preclear script version... very old versions of preclear might have issues with GPT...
  5. DROBO expencive but seems pretty similar to what unraid does...
  6. There are issue with SF too on this release... no totals formatting of the screen is wrong no access to content from the gui.... we just need to be patient till speeding ant finds the time to update everything....
  7. all i wanted is to know what ulimit -n outcome was without having to reboot but ok removed the line from my second server and ulimit -n on a stock unraid 5.0 = we will see if we get into trouble or not with nearly 2tb of music files
  8. garycase can you do me a favor and have a look what your outcome is ? i was never on the 4 series ... not sure why i added it ... or from where it even come LOL
  9. i went today into my go file to change a cron thing that i ave setup a long time ago and was just wondering if this is still necessary i mean the ulimit-n setting .... what is the default setting in unraid 5? is this still in the virgin go file of unraid 5 ? might be time for me to clean out my go files
  10. Not really... we are all waiting for Speedy_Ant to upgrade his packages to work with this new GUI..... he said he would so we are waiting...
  11. I went ahead and tried it again. It seems like the first few minutes after the GUI upgrade that it is unresponsive. I waited several minutes and then tried to access it. This time the pages came up properly with the new GUI. Hi, you using the swap page plugin from THEONE ? in both my servers i have to wait till the swap page is p before i can access the gui... guess it needs to compete the complete plugin circle before the GUI is ready ... you can test it by disabling mounting the swap during boot the gui should be much quicker accessible
  12. [me=sacretagent]kicks Dalben [/me] anyway updated on both systems by just copy/paste and for any case run a chkdsk on the USB key all good ... realtek drivers are inside my first official unraid release as i never bothered with 4.7
  13. just one to laugh about .... I know it is nothing and just because unmenu is looking for error in the logs ... just found it funny that unraid/unmenu doesn't like "planet terror" too
  14. are we supposed to run this with all our plugins running or on a clean unraid install, aka safe mode?
  15. Hi Zoggy not paranoid .. but sometimes the query to that google page stops the page from loading completely in firefox... the spinning wheel in the unmenu tab never stops.... what i do mostly is stopping it manually but then the page is not being refreshed any more ...
  16. I ran into similar issue a while back running cachedirs verbose tells you which disk is holding up the process what i did is move a bunch of music mp3's to a disk which was only holding big files and that also solved the issue i also once had some small filesystem error keeping cachedirs busy... i only realized once i did a parity check and the disk gave like 3 errors run reiserfsck solved that at that time
  17. mine is running 6 days without issues.... is running monthly parity check ... pity i had to start that manually since sf plugins are not working any more
  18. by the way .. any of you seen this control panel ? http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=28873.msg258131#new add a central reporistory and some md5 checksums and you have your plugin manager
  19. issue with that is that somebody needs to manage it ... and author the changes .... seen a lot of people coming and going in the last few years so we would need somebody who stays or multiple persons
  20. check /boot/plugins /boot/extra for any remaining simple feature packages delete and reboot
  21. HI, I don't think so you will need to use a platform which can be read by all... i use samba you can protect things though as xbmc allows you to add network passwords .... i even put my playlists and sources xml files on my unraid with path substitution so all xbmc instances use the same sources and olaylists ... easier that way only 1 file to change ...
  22. and if somebody could lign up the columns... looks not very professional like the columns are all over the place between bootdisk / cache and array...
  23. Speeding ant will have to modify them a bit as for now they all depend on the SF core package.... I hope speeding ant will soon surprise us with the modified packages....
