  1. tom there is definately something amiss with usershares in 5b04 i added a new disk which is disk 11 750 gb free make a new user share called stand.up.comedy include disk11 in the included disks min free i set at 50000 (but this makes no difference as even with nothing the issue is there) when i click apply and done i get 0 free for the stand.up.comedy usershare on the shares page when i add a show to the share the mover doesn't move it as it says no fee space the moment i change the usershare to not include any disks then i get 859 GB free on the share page (not sure where he gets that number as there should be 1.57 tb free on the array according to unmenu) disk 11 is also in the included disks for tv.to.see and there i get on the usershare page 189.39 gb free seems like this new disk is not counted in the array's usershare total space ?
  2. ok now we have a SMART array with hotplug capabilities... another step closer to professional array's
  3. see here ?? http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=10467.msg102769#msg102769 dunno if this is what you looking for ??
  4. guess a simple table could make the allignments between WWN and Serial number / drive brand in unmenu when i do a hparm i get all this info /dev/sdn: ATA device, with non-removable media Model Number: WDC WD7500AACS-00ZJB0 Serial Number: WD-WCASM0013559 Firmware Revision: 01.01B01 Transport: Serial, SATA 1.0a, SATA II Extensions, SATA Rev 2.5 Standards: Supported: 8 7 6 5 Likely used: 8 Configuration: Logical max current cylinders 16383 16383 heads 16 16 sectors/track 63 63 -- CHS current addressable sectors: 16514064 LBA user addressable sectors: 268435455 LBA48 user addressable sectors: 1465149168 Logical/Physical Sector size: 512 bytes device size with M = 1024*1024: 715404 MBytes device size with M = 1000*1000: 750156 MBytes (750 GB) cache/buffer size = 16384 KBytes Capabilities: LBA, IORDY(can be disabled) Queue depth: 32 Standby timer values: spec'd by Standard, with device specific minimum R/W multiple sector transfer: Max = 16 Current = 0 Recommended acoustic management value: 128, current value: 254 DMA: mdma0 mdma1 mdma2 udma0 udma1 udma2 udma3 udma4 udma5 *udma6 Cycle time: min=120ns recommended=120ns PIO: pio0 pio1 pio2 pio3 pio4 Cycle time: no flow control=120ns IORDY flow control=120ns Commands/features: Enabled Supported: * SMART feature set Security Mode feature set * Power Management feature set * Write cache * Look-ahead * Host Protected Area feature set * WRITE_BUFFER command * READ_BUFFER command * NOP cmd * DOWNLOAD_MICROCODE Power-Up In Standby feature set * SET_FEATURES required to spinup after power up SET_MAX security extension Automatic Acoustic Management feature set * 48-bit Address feature set * Device Configuration Overlay feature set * Mandatory FLUSH_CACHE * FLUSH_CACHE_EXT * SMART error logging * SMART self-test * General Purpose Logging feature set * 64-bit World wide name * {READ,WRITE}_DMA_EXT_GPL commands * Segmented DOWNLOAD_MICROCODE * Gen1 signaling speed (1.5Gb/s) * Gen2 signaling speed (3.0Gb/s) * Native Command Queueing (NCQ) * Host-initiated interface power management * Phy event counters * DMA Setup Auto-Activate optimization * Software settings preservation * SMART Command Transport (SCT) feature set * SCT Long Sector Access (AC1) * SCT LBA Segment Access (AC2) * SCT Error Recovery Control (AC3) * SCT Features Control (AC4) * SCT Data Tables (AC5) unknown 206[12] (vendor specific) unknown 206[13] (vendor specific) Security: Master password revision code = 65534 supported not enabled not locked not frozen not expired: security count supported: enhanced erase 208min for SECURITY ERASE UNIT. 208min for ENHANCED SECURITY ERASE UNIT. EDIT: just checked Samsung and Hitachi drives they all give me the same info and all have WWN numbers
  5. easy just got to your disks page unassign both wrong drives and assign them right again... in other words just swap them on your drives page when you go back to the main page after it should be all OK and you will be able to start the array i better shut up looking second time at the pic i saw they were at the right spot ... HPA issue as BRiT said
  6. aiden you can choose 7 of nine with or without her borg implants
  7. i am not an expert and i have no clue if you can get the info in unraid but why not using the wwn numbers ? they should be unique ? in professional array's a FC world everything is handled by WWN numbers i see all my WD hdd disks have a WWN number and i know for a fact that SAS drives also have WWN numbers
  8. No worries ... Please change your title to SOLVED in the first post have nice day
  9. maybe better hold off till Tom finalises the missing drives issue if he will use another id method then you will have to do it again it is not a life threatning issue .. and i have a hard copy of all my slots designations
  10. hi, please add a screenshot and syslog to your thread so that we can see what is going on ... putting drives in the wrong slot is not a biggie normally you can reassign them on the drives page ... but without more info we don't know what is happening to your system
  11. Hi bjp999 I just want to let you know that the new beta 5b04 broke your neat ID system pity as i had it all lined up with the server image and all info in the files any way you can update this easily ? see screenshot what is missing
  12. THX Joe L. no int 13 's on the sil3132 and adaptec cards as far as i could find so reformatted USB with HP tool and set to boot from removable device works OK preclearing now the 2 "older" 750 GB drives
  13. HI Guys, just added another PCI card which brings me to 12 drives ... and Yep you have guessed it ... my USB drive is not any more in the boot list so i searched the forum and i found a thread that said with preparing the usb with the hp program and reinstall syslinux and unraid that he will be bootable as a removable device i have no real issue in trying this... but i saw BRIT a few week ago say something about disabling something in the BIOS and that than not all your drives show up any more and that then the USB is selectable... so before i go erasing my usb i would have liked to try that first .... but for the hell of it i can't find that thread back any more anybody know about which trick i am talking here about ? any help is greatly appreciated for any case backing up my usb already
  14. it looks like a BORG Cube fasers number one ...
  15. I guess not tried to start the package manually and got same error and hamachi is not working
  16. I tried the restart array "trick" and even restarted the whole unraid... no luck to get it working in the syslog i see this Feb 10 20:51:42 p5bplus kernel: svc: 192.168.1.4, port=712: unknown version (4 for prog 100003, nfsd) (System) Feb 10 20:51:42 p5bplus mountd[18491]: refused mount request from 192.168.1.4 for /TV.New (/): not exported i exported though in the webinterface and after a restart i see this in the syslog Feb 10 19:37:33 p5bplus emhttp: shcmd (592): rm /etc/samba/smb-shares.conf >/dev/null 2>$stuff$1 (Other emhttp) Feb 10 19:37:33 p5bplus emhttp: shcmd (593): cp /etc/exports- /etc/exports (Other emhttp) Feb 10 19:37:33 p5bplus emhttp: shcmd (594): echo '/mnt/user/TV.New -async,no_subtree_check,fsid=100 *(rw,insecure,anongid=100,anonuid=99,all_squash)' >>/etc/exports (Other emhttp) Feb 10 19:37:33 p5bplus emhttp: Restart SMB... 17. HI i am busy messing with NFS and mounting onto my openelec xbmc and i noticed this in my unraid syslogs Feb 10 17:27:35 p5bplus emhttp: shcmd (86): rm /etc/samba/smb-shares.conf >/dev/null 2>&1 (Other emhttp) Feb 10 17:27:35 p5bplus emhttp: shcmd (87): cp /etc/exports- /etc/exports (Other emhttp) Feb 10 17:27:35 p5bplus emhttp: shcmd (88): echo '/mnt/user/TV.New -async,no_subtree_check,fsid=100 *(rw,insecure,anongid=100,anonuid=99,all_squash)' >>/etc/exports (Other emhttp) Feb 10 17:27:35 p5bplus emhttp: Restart SMB... 18. we want pictures of hot glued fingers ... euuuh.. sata/power cable combo on particle board
  19. Umax .. no worries.. i had it too before when i just had 5 beta 2 i can't for the hell remember what it made go normal but i think after a few reboots it came normal ... or after one time i shuffled the disks around ... (stopped array ... unassigned that disk ... click done ... go back an reassign same disk .... click done ... start array ... ) but like i said i am not sure any more what solved it permanently... anyway he ran for weeks with no issues ... it is a cosmetic thing
  20. thanks for the links Kizer i am in the process of looking into making my own hotswap drives cages (5 in 3) and if i can get somebody to make me the cages in aluminium then i will add the IBM backplanes in them ... normally should get an answer today if the guy can make the cages and how much they would cost spend last sunday all afternoon in Pantip Plaza to find 5 in 3 cages and the only ones i found where the icy docks but at 6350 bath a piece divide that by 32 for US$ and you have 198 US$ http://www.pcgallery.co.th/pcg/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=270&Itemid=136 if this wouldn't work then i think i will need somebodies help to ship them to me or go for a Norco alike which will set me back 19000 bath http://compware-agency.com/4u/100-rackmount-server-4u-d23-no-power-supply.html but i would hate to bring a noisy machine into my living room
  21. just make a folder on the cache drive with a dot at the front ... for example ".torrents" the mover script will not move the contents... and there is a script in the unmenu package manager that also excludes it from logging this folde in the syslog when the mover passes over it ... saves you a ton on a syslog entries... with sabnzbd i let him save everything in a protected folder like this and when he is ready with it i let him unrar to a downloaded folder on the protected array works perfectly... utorrent / rtorrent can do same .. i assume other torrent clients can do too ...
  22. hi i have same issue when the mover wants to move something from within the protected array to another share in the protected array nothing wrong with it .... jut ignore as long as it comes along once
  23. just a small update woke up this morning and checked syslog syslog stays clean only red line in there is this one logger: ERROR: Module md_mod does not exist in /proc/modules (Errors) so all good on my side ... going to try to add a NFS share today to my openelec xbmc see if any issues there i have for the moment all samba shares on there but i read that nfs is faster ? so we will give it a try...
  24. HI It worked great on 5b02 but now i upgraded to 5b04 and one of the modules is outdated now this is what i get from starting from console and this is in the systemlog i hope it is an easy fix ?
  25. Also just upgraded from 5b02 to 5b04 everything works fine as far as i can see all unmenu addons that i had running are up already OPENSSL SSH Screen DynDNS Then other stuff that works sickbeard couchpotato SabNbzd only Hamachi has a problem Feb 9 21:04:56 p5bplus kernel: tun: version magic '2.6.32.9-unRAID SMP mod_unload CORE2 ' should be '2.6.36.2-unRAID SMP mod_unload CORE2 ' will put the error in the hamachi Thread the releaser can maybe upgrade the package Also Mymain has issues no ID's and my inventory is empty not the biggest issue of course seems the new beta is a bit faster or is it just an idea of me ?
