  1. I’ve been having this problem ever since updating to the first RC of 6.10 In the beginning just a minor annoyance, but as my game server gets used a lot more these days it’s a bit more annoying. I would be happy to donate 200 $ if it can somehow fast track upgrading the minor version of docker from .14 to the .16 with the fix.
  2. I've been having a slight nuisance with the Pterodactyl panel/daemon, every gameserver container it spins up doesn't show cpu/mem usage. The team behind Pterodactyl says it has something to do with using cgroup v1 and changing it to v2 should correct this issue. Is this possible and if so, are there any negative effects? Issue discussed on Pterodactyl github: https://github.com/pterodactyl/panel/issues/3999
  3. Hmm, would this be a better combination? http://www.xcase.co.uk/LSI-SAS-9201-16i-Internal-p/hba-lsi%20sas%209201-16i.htm that and the M1015 would allow me to put 24 drives on the controllers and have the motherboards onboard ports available later. I'm afraid I'm a controller newbie, but how would the performance of the 16 + 8 port controllers be compared to 3 x 8 port controllers?
  4. Thanks Johnm, first off it's just for unraid. I might explore virtualization further down the road but currently that is way out of my comfort zone Say I want to use all 24 bays, which would be the better approach on that particular motherboard: 3 x IBM ServeRAID M1015 (one would have to be on the PCIe 4x) or 1 x IBM ServeRAID M1015 + Intel RES2SV240 I would probably use the onboard controllers for the OS drives. There is only 8% added cost for the latter solution (not counting cables).
  5. Johnm you seem to know what you are talking about, might I ask a question regarding the best way to fill drives? I have a 24 bay case with a supermicro X9SCM-iiF motherboard and 2 x IBM ServeRAID M1015. Now I've built desktop computers before with 1-2 drives but am quite new regarding file servers. Which drives goes where? Will some ports perform better than others? Do I slap the OS drives on the motherboards onboard ports and just stick the rest on the controllers or what is optimal?
  6. Thanks for the helpfull replies, the i3-3220 is half the price of E3-1220Lv2 at local retailers. Also the i3-3220 seems to have a passmark of around 4500 or 4100 for the low power version which is 35 watts. Noise is not an issue for me, but heat might be, the ambient room temperature is fairly high currently so going fanless is probably not an option. The i3-3220T looks fairly tempting so far
  7. Thanks for the input both of you I opted to buy it, 60£ is quite a bit off considering my budget, I'll be using a supermicro atx board which should fit fine. I also noticed x-case use 120 mm fans in the middle and not 80 mm fans, thats just another plus in my book. It should arrive sometime next week, it'll be some time before the rest of the components come together though, I might post pictures when it's all done and ready
  8. I just noticed the x-case home server box (24 bays short version) is on deal of the day 60£ cheaper than usually, hard to resist.. could anyone come up with any reason not to buy this?
  9. Hello all, I've been getting a lot of help from you guys already, now I could use a bit of help again, picking the correct case. I do not plan to build another server again for several years hopefully. I'm currently going back and forth between a tower with 12 external 3.5" and filling it with hot-swap cages or a 4U rack case with hot-swap cages. Tower, almost certain I'd be picking a LianLi A77B since I love that make. 4U, I am currently looking at 3 different cases, the Norco's I can't find in EU that will ship to Denmark. But I found 3 similar cases: http://www.xcase.co.uk/24-bay-Hotswap-rackmount-chassis-norco-RPC-4224-p/case-xcase-rm424.htm http://www.xcase.co.uk/x-case-home-server-box-p/case-homeserver24.htm http://www.inter-tech.de/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=632%3Aipc-4u-4324l&catid=121%3Astorage-gehaeuse&Itemid=553〈=en The 2 from xcase cost the same, but one is not as deep as the other, I think for my basement the short one would be perfect. The case from inter-tech looks similar, and is cheaper but I don't understand German language LianLi and adding the cages will cost about the same as an xcase 4U, so it's not so much the price I'm worried about, also noise is not an issue currently. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance
  10. oh that's perfect, didnt know there was a EU price listing, that will be helpfull in the future thanks a lot for your help so far guys, any recommendation on cpu/ram to go with the board? Oh and is there a board that is the new "hot" thing? or is the SCM still the thing to get?
  11. Any shops in EU that ships to Denmark would actually be fine, any recommendations?
  12. Hello all, I've been hearing good things about the X9SCM, unfortunately I can't get it in Denmark it seems, we're quite limited in resellers of supermicro here. I was almost set on the Atom based board, which I can get, but I might need a bit more bang since I also do encodes on the server occasionally. Here is the list of SuperMicro boards I can get: http://www.edbpriser.dk/hardware/bundkort.aspx?nf=manufacturer%3aSuperMicro[MultiValSep]%C2%A7&qt=Fql I was aiming for a future proof server, and was very exited about the IPMI-feature so that is an absolute must. I have no preferences in regards to cpu, was thinking and i3 should suffice, any other ideas? Thanks in advance for your help
  13. Thanks, should've opened my eyes before posting I guess. I would order the pre-built if it weren't because of me living in europe I'd have to add around 200 bucks for shipment and 25% tax on top of the cost of the server
  14. Hello everyone, I've recently started looking for expandable storage solutions, consideres NAS boxes etc. But must say I like the concept of unRAID Server a lot. Reason for the storage is I have a working HTPC in my livingroom, while my main pc is in the bedroom I'd like to move data from my pc in the bedroom of to a server in a remote location I've never meddled with linux before so hoping I could get some help choosing components that would absolutely work out of the box. Leaning towards the Lian Li A17B case. For CPU I'd like a core duo, so really only need help with motherboard and cpu. Will be adding 3-4 drives from the start. Thanks in advance.
