  1. Thanks! That was a good read. After reading that and the SEC statement released: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1375365/000162828018012712/exhibit991_20181018.htm I'm starting to side with SM. I wonder if SM is preparing a lawsuit in the meantime.
  2. I don't believe that is true. If the Snowden leaks are to be believed (which I do believe them). Then NSL and NSA gag orders trump all. Even if someone asks you if you are under a gag order you can't say that you are. You have to deny it. https://www.zdnet.com/article/national-security-letters-everything-you-need-to-know/ Just a thought. Let's say there are a few people at Apple or Amazon that know about this but are under NSL. The story comes out, PR emails the company saying if anyone knows anything about this let us know. The employees can't say anything so everyone denies it. Apple releases a statement saying they strongly deny it because from the point of view of PR it never happened.. That's just an example of what might have happened in my opinion.
  3. I don't know if you guys listen to the This Week in Tech podcast but they had Mark Milian from Bloomburg on there and they talked about the story for about 20-30 minutes. It was interesting to hear his side of things even though he wasn't the one who wrote the story. I starting to lean more toward the article being true.
  4. It's possible since they supposedly are going through the BMC. If they said it was another way I would doubt it, but BMC can do everything in the article.
  5. Oh I know, most boards are made at/around the same place, but if I can lower the risk by using a less high volume supplier. I don't plan on dropping my SM board but I think I might think twice about buying one in the future (TBD future news). And I love SM, we only use SM JBOD's and blades at work.
  6. Going forward when building your next server would you guys skip over SM? Or would you still use their boards? HP with iLO is looking mighty nice right now.
  7. I've though about this since I'd read the news and others comments. It can be farfetched but at the same time if there is any type of gag order on these companies then they have to deny it. It can also be that only certain people in the companies know excluding PR so the statements released will obviously say this is false. Or bloomberg got the news wrong. If there is any country that can pull off this type of espionage it would be China, so I definitely think it's possible. Either way this is going to really hurt supermicro because if the sue and they prove that they are in the right I bet the news won't report it and the damage has already been done. I love/loved supermicro so I really hope the news is wrong.
  8. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2018-10-04/the-big-hack-how-china-used-a-tiny-chip-to-infiltrate-america-s-top-companies It's a great article. Makes me want to get rid of my SM motherboard in my unraid server. It looks like from the photos it's their blade motherboards but who knows, it makes me lose trust in a company. There are very strong denials from AWS and Apple about the article. It's a he said, she said situation. Of course they are going to deny it, but at the same time maybe the bloomberg sources are wrong? What do you guys think about the article?
  9. I don't think this forum is the best place for discussing that. I would suggest the various subreddits that deal with torrents and open registration.
  10. On my Win10 machine. Left to right Firefox, Chrome, Edge, IE. I didn't want to install Safari. Also looks fine on Android 9 (Pie).
  11. I'll try the same test on Windows 10 and see how it looks when I get home. Now I'm curious how it compares.
  12. I'm running a 2017 Macbook Pro running 10.13.6. Here is what it looks like across 3 browers. From left to right: Safari, Chrome, Firefox They all do look slightly different with Firefox looking bold. I should add that I think it's fine and readable across all 3.
  13. Looks fantastic! Great job guys! Can't wait for whats to come. Is the favicon working for anyone? I just have the generic image show up when bookmarking. Seems to work for the main site but not he forums for me.
  14. Hi Unraid Friends, I'm trying to find the fastest way to connect to Ubuntu (gnome) from my Windows 10 desktop. I've been looking for something as fast as RDP but I haven't been able to find anything as fast. I've been messing around with a few days trying different applications and was wondering what everyone uses. I tried XRDP and VNC both of which had lag in my tests. I wasn't able to get x2go working. Thanks.
  15. Yup! It's been working for me. There was one time that I needed to restart the containers since they weren't sucking in the scanned docs but since then everything has been great (even through updates)
  16. Thanks this worked perfectly! You had a single typo, it should be --rm instead of -rm. In case anyone else runs into issues. Hopefully updates to the container won't break it but I'm happy it's up and running. Thanks again.
  17. This is pretty overkill but you can use Zabbix or Nagios: https://www.zabbix.com/ https://www.nagios.org/ I've used both (at work) and Zabbix is pretty easy to get up and running if you have some Linux experience.
  18. Docker compose is not included in unRAID. You can get it from the Nerd Pack From my understanding it would all be command line based including starting. I could be wrong about stopping/starting though.
  19. Holy crap! Wow! Thank you JimL!!! I'll give this a try as soon as I can! It's very much appreciated!
  20. Sorry I'm a bit confused. If I install docker compose, can I change the docker run command for that container to use docker compose instead of docker run? So I can control the container in the GUI the same way as the other containers (including autostart)?
  21. I'd like to see this added as well. I see that it's added to the nerd pack plugin but I would like to be able to do a docker compose from the docker tab. My understanding is through the plugin it's all CLI based.
  22. EDIT: It looks like it's because the dev used docker compose for his container. I'm going to see if I can figure out how to do it without docker compose since that's not included in unraid. Hi! I'm still getting the hang of docker. I'm having a hard time getting this set up in unraid. Here is what I have currently that's not working. It might be because docker-compose files in the repo are .example and you're supposed to copy them without the .example. Also you have to manually create the superuser account in order to login: docker-compose run --rm webserver createsuperuser Which prompts you with a username, email, pass. Here is what I have so far. I'm thinking that maybe I need to create my own container and upload it to dockerhub? Any help would be greatly appreciated. 23. Thanks for this! I have it up and running locally in a container for testing. There are a few things that are rough around the edges so I posted in github repo.
