  1. So i had two drives with 1 pending reallocated sector so i replaced them and had them rebuilt one had the issue first then the following week i had the second drive these are 5 year old drives. After the rebuild i ran the preclear on them and got these results wondering if they're worth using at all in any type of environment. Thanks in adavance.
  2. Awesome guys thanks for the info always glad i can find the help i need.
  3. I precleared my new 8tb it passed and i replaced my old 6tb with my new 8tb the rebuild went smooth and completed. My question is should i preclear my old 6tb parity before adding it to the array or replacing a smaller one with this one. Or is it fine to just use it as it sits without having to preclear it again.
  4. Hello i have not upgraded my parity in a few months and now i have taken my old 6tb and upgraded it to a 8tb parity. Now that i have my array back online it shows it as a available drive not sure if i should preclear again or if its ok to add it as a data drive.
  5. This is my latest drive that i plan on using over my 6tb parity looks good to me what do you guys think? ========================================================================1.15b == invoked as: /boot/config/plugins/preclear.disk/preclear_disk.sh -c 1 -f -J /dev/sdo == WDCWD80EFZX-68UW8N0 VKJG57DX == Disk /dev/sdo has been successfully precleared == with a starting sector of 1 == Ran 1 cycle == == Using :Read block size = 1000448 Bytes == Last Cycle's Pre Read Time : 16:57:12 (131 MB/s) == Last Cycle's Zeroing time : 15:31:01 (143 MB/s) == Last Cycle's Post Read Time : 19:27:57 (114 MB/s) == Last Cycle's Total Time : 51:57:08 == == Total Elapsed Time 51:57:08 == == Disk Start Temperature: 31C == == Current Disk Temperature: 35C, == ============================================================================ ** Changed attributes in files: /tmp/smart_start_sdo /tmp/smart_finish_sdo ATTRIBUTE NEW_VAL OLD_VAL FAILURE_THRESHOLD STATUS RAW_VALUE Throughput_Performance = 129 100 54 ok 124 Temperature_Celsius = 171 193 0 ok 35 No SMART attributes are FAILING_NOW 0 sectors were pending re-allocation before the start of the preclear. 0 sectors were pending re-allocation after pre-read in cycle 1 of 1. 0 sectors were pending re-allocation after zero of disk in cycle 1 of 1. 0 sectors are pending re-allocation at the end of the preclear, the number of sectors pending re-allocation did not change. 0 sectors had been re-allocated before the start of the preclear. 0 sectors are re-allocated at the end of the preclear, the number of sectors re-allocated did not change. ============================================================================ Disk: /dev/sdo smartctl 6.2 2013-07-26 r3841 [x86_64-linux-4.1.18-unRAID] (local build) Copyright (C) 2002-13, Bruce Allen, Christian Franke, www.smartmontools.org === START OF INFORMATION SECTION === Device Model: WDC WD80EFZX-68UW8N0 Serial Number: VKJG57DX LU WWN Device Id: 5 000cca 254e29fde Firmware Version: 83.H0A83 User Capacity: 8,001,563,222,016 bytes [8.00 TB] Sector Sizes: 512 bytes logical, 4096 bytes physical Rotation Rate: 5400 rpm Device is: Not in smartctl database [for details use: -P showall] ATA Version is: ACS-2, ATA8-ACS T13/1699-D revision 4 SATA Version is: SATA 3.1, 6.0 Gb/s (current: 3.0 Gb/s) Local Time is: Sun Jul 24 23:16:02 2016 PDT SMART support is: Available - device has SMART capability. 6. Is there a tutorial or write up on how to set it up. I just bought a apc ups pro 1500. I'm running the latest unraid and not sure how to hook it up and get it up and running. Do I just plug in the ac adapter into the unraid or do i also have to plug in the usb plug. I would like to have it shutdown my desktop and server if possible. Thanks in advance.
  7. I think this is the right way of posting it not sure let me know thank you in advance.
  8. Hello i'm new to this docker and my friend who has it up and running tried helping me set it but we can't access the webui. I keep on getting this error "This site can't be reached. ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED.
  9. Hello is anyone having issues with emby? Mine was working fine and i updated it today but after the update now it wont load. I tried reinstalling it and it still doesn't come on.
  10. Ok got it on some of my drives it reads this SATA Version: SATA 2.6, 3.0 Gb/s and other say SATA Version: SATA 3.1, 6.0 Gb/s (current: 6.0 Gb/s), so on the second one i can clearly see that it says current speed but the others im not sure. Is there a reason why on one of them it doesn't say current speed?
  11. Is there a way to check what speed my hard drives are running at if they're running at SATA 6Gb/s, 3Gb/s , or the lower sata 1.5Gb/s? I currently have a Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 and a 2 port card not sure of which one i have but i think its the one that runs sata 1.
  12. Isrdude I have been looking at getting the high point rocket raid that you're currently using and saw you haven't had any issues. My question is would this card have to go on a PCI 16x or 8x? And is there any bottleneck if you use all the ports on the card? My current setup is the super micro mobo used on the official builds that has 14 sata ports onboard and a Intel E3 1241v3 on a norco 4224 reason for wanting this card is because I want to do some virtualization later and I want to be able to use that 16x slot to use a dedicated gpu.
  13. Ok so i installed the plugin and put the fast preclear files in the same directory i assume you have to rename it otherwise the plugin doesn't recognize the script. The files i put in the scrip folder are the preclear_bjp.sh which i had to rename to preclear_disk.sh for the plugin to read it and from the x64 folder i put the readvz. Was this the correct steps? Also when i do the preclear option on the plugin page i get some options which most i can undestand but on the part that says fast post read should i check yes or is it automatically built in to the new scrip? And read size and write size i just left as default as i don't know what those are exactly for.
  14. Are the files on the main page still working or is there a update to them?
  15. Try this it worked for me found it on another post. Quote from: djdexter on March 16, 2011, 06:24:35 PM how do i uninstall unmenu and then reinstall it...to do a "clean install" with out F'n up my current setup array cp /boot/unmenu/unmenu_install /tmp/unmenu_install rm -rf /boot/unmenu If you want to remove all the downloaded packages. This will also remove any configuration settings you may have made by removing all the .conf files: rm -rf /boot/packages Then, to re-install. mkdir /boot/unmenu /tmp/unmenu_install -i -d /boot/unmenu I'm curious though, what do you think will happen differently? unMENU does not just "break" and it does a pretty decent job of updating itself. 16. I don't think i did those steps a friend had told me to have parity check but not have correct it automatically. In my case when i disabled the correct if any errors are found even if i uncheck it checks itself again. How do i create md5 files or check if i made any?
  17. I had a failing drive so i ran a preclear on a new one and swapped it out and had it rebuilt. Should i reset counters?
  18. So i recently noticed this on Unraid main it shows all my disk fine and working but on the unmenu my main it shows disk 10 as unknown and unmounted. When i take the array offline it shows it as good but shows cache drive as unknown and unmounted. Here is some screenshots i took anyone know why this is happening if i should ignore it or how can i fix it. I tried switching the hard drive to different hard drive bay but same thing happens.
  19. Looks like everything is running smooth i really appreciate all the help.
  20. Is this it? tower-diagnostics-20150720-2022.zip
  21. Yes thank you for all your help.
