I have ordered an intel arc b50 GPU but my motherboard (supermicro h11ssl V2) bios does not support resizable bar. Is it vital in unraid to have this option in the bios to use this GPU? I plan on splitting the GPU using SR iov between windows vm's and docker. Thanks des.

Hi guys. I have just purchased but not yet received an intel arc pro b50. I intent on using this in my unraid server to use the sr iov feature to split the card between running windows vm's and docker. The system has a supermicro h11ssl V2 motherboard with epic 7k62 48 core CPU and 128gb ram etc. After doing more research ( perhaps too late!) I find my motherboard does not support resizable bar, at least not without hacking the bios which I don't want to do. It does support the above 4gb decode and sr iov. I also read that with some operating systems resizable bar is not important, as the os can deal with that if you add a command to the startup sequence. Resizable bar is an issue more for window machines? And as I am not passing the entire card to any one Windows VM. So my query is will I need resizable bar or not with the latest unraid? Do I need to a command to the go file or similar? Thanks in advance, des.

To answer my own question incase it's useful to others, I updated the server from 6.12.10 to 7 in one step without issue. Super micro h11ssl with epyc 7k62. Thanks 👍

I am on 6.12.10 with a machine that has VM's running and many docker's. Is it safe to upgrade directly to 7, or should I go in steps? Thanks 👍

Native SR-IOV graphics support and Nvidia vGPU - Licensed support is interesting too me. I don't know anything about virt Gll you mention it will read about it now. I would love to share a GPU (even if it's just Nvidia approved versions, Tesla etc, using legal licensing etc) to multiple windows vm's simultaneously. Thanks 👍

I am also very keen to do this with unraid. Why not enable it in the unraid system and then it's up to the user to follow the Nvidia licensing after that. It's the users decision. Thanks 👍

Just closing down my own question for future reference. I used the information here to get my system working. https://www.reddit.com/r/unRAID/s/eGZ03UXtfi Basically use the deep stack template and adjust it for codeProjectAI. That allowed me to point to the cuda version and I can also install extra modules now, so have number plate reading working. Very pleased. Thanks 👍

Sorry for asking silly question guys, but I'm trying to figure this out. The text " Simply update `codeproject/ai-server:gpu` to one of the following depending on your GPUs capabilities. - `codeproject/ai-server:cuda11_7` - `codeproject/ai-server:cuda12_2 " Does it simply mean I edit the container details within docker? At the moment I have the details attached. So change the repository and registry URL to one of the lines above? I currently have a Tesla p4 and also a Nvidia t400, so just want to pass one of these cards through to use. Thanks 👍

For me my ups is in a different room/ building, so networking was the only option.

Thanks very much for the feedback.. A server reboot got it running 100%! Now i just need to do a power fail and see how it actually acts. I have the system running off 250AH worth of external batteries so it could take some time before it needs to actually shut down. Cheers Des

Guys, Sorry for bring this thread back up but im struggling getting Unraid to talk to my APC 1500 2u rack UPS over ethernet. I can talk to the UPS via its webpage at 192.168.1.60 and i can pig the device etc, but the UPS settings page in Unraid seems to refuse to see the UPS. I also dont seem to see any errors in the UPS log that i would expect if a password was wrong, so im not sure if Unraid is even trying to talk to the UPS. I had setup the passphrase as "admin-user-phrase" within the ups and then have this under device in unraid "192.168.1.60:apc:admin-user-phrase". Its setup as Ether and have tried pcnet and SNMP. What am i missing? Thanks des.

Hi all. I upgraded from "needo" version to the linuxserverio version as it seems to have better support. Anyhow since upgrading i have has issues which i believe are related to permissions. When a tv show downloads i get a fault "2018-02-24 19:54:41,568::ERROR::[misc:1597] Cannot change permissions of /config/Downloads/complete/tv/xxxxxxxx" Where xxx is the tv show. I have checked the SAB config and have played with the permissions value, but its at 777. It seems SAB cant change the file and so post processing fails. Im totally lost, so can anyone help me resolve this issue? Im not sure if this is a sab issue, an unraid issue or what? Thanks des.
