  1. So I've been trying to get Dolphin up and running correctly. Problem is I don't see any drives at all. I've set the advanced parameters for USER_ID and GROUP_ID to 0 so that I log in as root. I'm setting mnt to /mnt/. Any further ideas?
  2. Thanks for the clarification. So from 6.2 onwards, this should work ok? Just read over on the other thread that it will work on 6.2 onwards. Nice. Will use the old restart docker work around for the time being. Are there any other file management dockers I should be looking in to to provide a nice easy way to move files around without getting on to the command line? Cheers guys!
  3. Ok, started playing around with Krusader and it seems to it my needs, that is to move things around in a reasonably nice UI (i.e. an alternative to MC). However I don't seem to be able to see the contents of any attached USB drives (mounted through the unassigned devices plugin). I can read/write to all my regular unraid disks fine. Any ideas guys?
  4. Yes you are right. Just updated the Dynamix. Will this now allow containers to use shares with spaces in them "Tv shows" instead of plain old "TV"? Thanks. Yes, the update restores the previous behavior Worked a treat, thanks for the tip.

  6. It seems that a space in a share name was upsetting the docker creation process... (I think) Well it works now and all updated ok.
  7. I just noticed that there was an update for the docker container I was running (Plex). I clicked update, a load of stuff was downloaded, expanded and then installed. There was one error at the end moaning about my "tv shows" not being a valid path or something... anyways, the container is now completely gone. Puff, nothing there. Restarted the server, still not there. I guess I need to reinstall it?!? (I can't find any logs unfortunately)
  8. It appears that Windows adds a signature to a drive it formats and Linux does not create that same signature. Windows knows that a disk has been formatted by another OS. If you want to use a ntfs disk in Windows and unraid, you will have to partition and format it in Windows. It can then be mounted by UD and Windows. Thanks for the confirmation and info!
  9. @dlandon, a question about using UD for formatting external devices. I used this feature yesterday to format an old laptop drive in NTFS. I then backed up a load of data from the server on to it. Plugging the hard drive in to windows 10 laptop however, the drive did not show up in My Computer. Looking in Drive Management just showed the drive as being there but not assigned any drive letter or having a defined file system. I then re-formatted in NTFS and then re-copied everything over from the server. Just wondering how UD is formatting drives in NTFS and if this is some different form of the file system which isn't 100% windows compatible or something?!? Thanks.
  10. Same here, all other notifications work, just the update notification for plugin and docker. I think it was mentioned there was a fix in the next release to handle this. All I get is authorization failed no matter what I set for "googlemail" AKA Gmail You have to set Gmail to 'allow less secure apps' https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps reported this the other day Really?? I just created an application specific password for Unraid (in Gogole security settings). Works fine. I still don't get notifications , but the test emails do come through fine. So IMO this is a problem on the Unraid side of things. Also 'allow less secure apps' won't work if you have 2-factor turned on, which I imagine most users here do...
  11. If you turn on Plugin update notifications then you already get notified..... Ok, just checked this, and it was already enabled (both email and browser)... so LT add me to the list of people that this isn't work for
  12. If you turn on Plugin update notifications then you already get notified..... Didn't realise this existed. Nice. So this checks for plugin updates when exactly? Thanks.
  13. Nice to see these updates and looking forward to 6.2. Speaking of which, I would like to see in the future: An automatic notification from within Unraid itself, either send me an email or notification, or a banner label that a new version is available. Maybe check once a week or something A way to update all plug-ins at once (no need to update each individually) Thanks guys!
  14. I think you are working too hard. Why not just plug in the drive and let the script run and take care of things? I use the following in my scripts and rsync just copies over the changed files and removes any deleted files. The drive I am using is used for a variety of purposes and I simply don't want a load of backups to take place every time it is plugged in. Just a personal preference I guess, but it would be nice to have a manual / automatic switch on the UI. Thanks for the example script, and I like the idea of viewing log output. It would definitely be a great addition, maybe keep the last 5 logs or something for furture reference.
  15. I have a question regarding scripting support. I currently have some rsync scripts that I manually run once every now and then to an external USB drive (the drive is not plugged in all the time). What I would like to do is select a script to run from a dropdown ("back-up pics", "back-up music" etc...) rather than connecting with Putty and doing everything over the command line. Is this possible or do scripts only run automatically on being mounted or on a cronjob? Would be nice to see the output of the script, e.g. for my jobs, I like to see the output of the rsync, how many files were copied, total size etc... Thanks for the support.
  16. @dlandon Thanks for your work here. What's the correct way to uninstall the old unassigned devices plug-in cleanly? It was mentioned that simply uninstalling it may not clean up everything properly. Cheers.
  17. Thanks for the tip, but I'll need to use the scanner regularly and don't want to pay for 3rd party drivers (if going down that route I'd probably just buy a new scanner). I really want to try this VM functionality out, and thought this was a good exercise. Anybody have a "getting started guide" or something similar?
  18. Hello all. I would like to start tinkering around with the new (to me) VM functionality in Unraid 6. Why do I want to do this? I have an old scanner (Canon Lide 20) that only has Windows 7 drivers. I have a spare copy of Windows 7 and figure I can run this through a VM and plug the scanner in to the server right? Sure I could buy a new scanner but where is the fun in that?!? Problem, I have no experience at all at setting these things up. Can someone help me or point me to a straight-forward guide? My set-up is a HP Gen.8 with only 2 gigs of RAM. I literally just need the VM for scanning a few docs in and then will spin it down. Thanks for any advice.
  19. I am loving the powerdown "system" buttons. Exactly what I was after, work a treat in conjunction with the powerdown plug-in. Cheers.
  20. Thanks for the tip, £15 is a bit of a bargain. I presume that is for a lifetime activation?
  21. I got this working, had to set it up to use the shared port but now all in order. I quite like the idea of being able to look at the server status in detail, but you're right, with the basic (free) license I believe you can only enter iLO during the boot sequence and not after. Also I thought iLO provided access to things like Wake-on-LAN, which it doesn't as far as I could tell.
  22. Many thanks. I thought there was a certain amount of functionality for free... will give it a go and see how far I get.
  23. My understanding here - and I readily admit it has been years since I looked in to this - was even when using the Web UI to perform a powerdown, if there were files open, or processes running, then these would not be shut down cleanly and could lead to a hanging UI. Hence the need for the powerdown script.
