  1. So I upgraded to 2.0.3 and everything was going OK and I could download for like a day and now its stopped working.

The torrents act like they want to start but they never do.  I can see the swarms and everything but I cant ever connect to them. There are no errors in my log file so i'm kind of at a loss at what to do.

Anyone have any ideas on what to do about this it would be great.  I havent tried uninstalling/reinstalling yet.

EDIT: This was a permissions problem since I upgraded my cache pool to raid 1.  I nuked the docker and started over, nothings wrong with v203...

As I said this is a vendor specific parameter.  One of my older Seagate drives has a value of this parameter of 19549880.  You could google and see if you can find out if WD has releases information regarding what the significance of this parameter number is and how it should be interpreted.

I think WD drives should be reading 0 under raw value in ideal conditions but I will run with it till it starts failing smart tests.

Thank you for your time Frank.

I would not be replacing this disk.  You need to read this Wikipedia document:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.M.A.R.T.#Lack_of_common_interpretation

The  Raw_Read_Error_Rate 'number' is a vendor specific number and does mean much to any one without a knowing that the significance the vendor has assigned to that figure.  The SMART parameters that most folks use to determine disk health are 5 ,187 ,188, 197, 198, and 199.  And, parameter 199 is usually NOT a disk error but usually a cable issue (most likely) or a bad controller (very unlikely).

hmmm, all my other 4TB reds are showing 0 for raw read error rate.  This one is showing 22.

EDIT Age ona hard disk is not a bad thing.  The longer is runs, the less likely it is to fail.  (Until it reaches its natural end-of-life stage.  Your disk is in the 30-60 people age range.  In those terms, end-of-life is 80+ years.)

Yeah about the age of the drive, I wasn't too worried about it.  I just said that to let people know that it was out of warranty anyway so I can't send it in for RMA.

  4. This WD red 4tb has almost 4 years power on hours so it's already out of warranty.  It's a low raw read error rate of 22 but the rest of the smart report looks good.  I don't think it's changed in awhile.  Just wondering if I should replace it.

My first instincts is to buy a replacement drive just to have on hand but then let this 4TB drive run for a while longer in my server but watch it closely.

  5. 6.6.3 was very erratic for me when copying files from my ssd cache to my main array.  I ended up rolling back to 6.6.2 and everything is fine again.

I'm running a xeon e3 haswell cpu so plenty of power there.  Anyway I tested 6.6.3 for quite a few days and it just wasn't good for me.

  6. Enterprise drives are claimed to have better vibration resistance, and in a 36 bay server it might make a difference, or it might not...

If it were me I wouldn't worry about it too much.  Just buy the flavor you like that you think will be reliable. Wd reds are good drives and should work fine.  I've got about 10 of them in my server and they've been flawless for me so far.

I bought a mix Seagate and WD 8T. The Seagate's were the archive drives but 7200 rpm, and the WD were REDs at 5200RPM I think. Both have worked well for me, but the Seagates are substantially faster.

All my Reds show 5400 rpm under the unraid drive identity tab.  That's one thing about Seagate though they do make some fast drives.?

  8. I've got a bunch of WD reds. Like around 20 or so. They're great. Never had one fail.

I've started buying HGST Ultrastar He drives though and they are great too They are 7200 rpm but they run just as cool as the 5400 rpm reds.

WD Gold is probably real good too. I haven't had one yet but I imagine they are very similar to HGST Ultrastar He drives.

  9. Right now i'm using a 24 port HP Procurve  but thinking about changing it out for a Ubiquiti 48 port POE edge switch soon.  I'm running out of ports plus I need POE, SFP+..

By the way, what router are you using at home?

Ubiquiti edgerouter pro. Way overkill for my internet connection but I wanted a rack mounted router so I bought one.

I use 2x Unifi AP AC Pro for my wireless. 3500 sq ft home.
