  1. you have to look under the iPhone apps category. thanks I found it, under iphone apps/utilities
  2. Is this available for Ipad? I can't seem to find it on the appstore.
  3. These 5tb wd black drives are going in my main work machine. I need large, fast drives for my typical work with Adobe ps, adobe pp.
  4. For desktop machines I usually use WD Black drives. I just picked up 2x 5TB WD blacks the other day from newegg for $189 each. Not a bad price for 5TB Blacks.
  5. Hi Gary, yeah I was mainly referring to ebay. There is usually at least a couple sellers on there selling brand new he8's with manufacturers warranty for around $350 or less. Either way the WD red 8tb is excellent. I have a few of those also and they've been great.
  6. I also think it's worth paying the extra for wd red 8tb. Or even better hgst he8, those have 5 year warranty because they're enterprise drives. You can usually buy them brand new for around $350 if you shop around.
  7. I've been using $10 norco branded cables from newegg. They work fine for me so far. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816133034
  8. First of all everything is behind a NAT router running shibby tomato. No ports are open including, uPnP/NAT PNP all turned off. All unraid user shares are locked down to read only. I'm running binhex delugeVPN docker (PIA VPN) downloading a torrent and i'm starting to see these messages i've never seen before in my main unraid log. It's got to be something to do with the torrent i'm downloading. My guess is that it's harmless but I just want to check.
  9. I usually don't replace a drive until it surpasses the smart threshold values. But then I am running dual parity on both my main and backup servers. It's entirely up to what your comfort level is though. For a few reallocated sectors I wouldn't bother. Unless the drive is close to being out of warranty. Then i'd pull it and make sure I got a replacement before the warranty ran out.
  10. Take the unRAID boot flash to another desktop and run the appropriate 'makebootable'. Probably best to first delete any syslinux files from the root of the flash, like ldlinux*, menu.c32, etc. And run Chkdsk on that flash drive! Thanks guys. It's working now, my array is started but now all my dockers are missing and my win10 vm isn't working either. hmmm. Edit...scratch that. The vm is working just the dockers are all missing. I deleted the docker image and i'm rebuilding all my dockers via docker templates. Another thing I noticed with rc4 is that it changed my ip to dhcp and enabled bonding automatically. I never had any of that set. I had a static ip address entered....
  11. I did a manual update to rc4 from rc3 and now i'm getting endless loop when I try to boot. Any ideas how to fix it? Menu.c32:Not a COM32R image Menu.c32:Not a COM32R image Menu.c32:Not a COM32R image Menu.c32:Not a COM32R image
  12. Thanks for the reply! The SM motherboard I am buying has 6 x 6Gb/s SATA ports. Is there any reason I wouldn't want to you the motherboard connections? Yeah that's fine. I just wanted to make sure you knew these were only 8 port cards. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  13. Get the h310 and flash it. You will probably be happier in the long run.... These SAS controllers only run 8 drives so if you really want 12 drives you will need to run some of them off your mb or buy another card. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  14. I don't think they're rated for 24/7 use like most nas drives, if that even means anything.... I'd have no worries about using them though. I've got a 4tb wd black in my main work pc and it's been great.
  15. Samsung or crucial make good drives. I'm using a crucial mx200 in my unraid server and it's been fine. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  16. Last checked on Wed 11 May 2016 05:39:02 AM MST (two days ago), finding 0 errors. Duration: 18 hours, 53 minutes, 30 seconds. Average speed: 117.7 MB/sec I've got mostly all 8TB & 4TB wd reds, dual parity. My smallest HDD is 4TB.
  17. I've noticed 3 different issues with various unraid tasks. I'd really appreciate any help otherwise i'm probably going to have to burn it all down to the ground and start completely over. Diagnostics and filezilla log file attached below. Filezilla. Can't connect. Connection Error An internal error has occurred within the Guacamole server, and the connection has been terminated. If the problem persists, please notify your system administrator, or check your system logs. -------------------- Also I can't connect via web browser NoVNC to my win 10 vm. But using windows rdp client I CAN connect into my vm just fine. ------------------- Plex suddenly stopped recognizing any new added media files Plex errors 10:50 AM Opened connection to Tower, listening for events. 10:50 AM Unable to listen for events on Tower. EDIT- I've tried using all kinds of different browsers from different computers on my lan so I know it's most likely not a web browser-adblock problem. tower-diagnostics-20160507-1054.zip filezilla_log_file.txt
  18. I think plex automatically transcodes to lossy mp3 format doesn't it? Not really good if you have all your audio in flac (lossless) format and you don't want it downsampled. Also I don't think plex can do gapless playback yet either. Unfortunately I can't recommend anything as I do all my audio streaming from my synology nas via minimserver and have never tried with unraid.
  19. Not sure. The most i've ever done at a time is like 4. If you're worried i'd just do 5 at a time and don't do all 10 at once. You should have no problems with 5.
  20. hehe, that's a lot. You could probably do it fine though if it's on the server in your sig. Try it and see.
  21. I've been running a few 8tb reds and like them so far. Long term who knows? But then I guess we could say the same thing about Seagate smr archive drives. No one really knows until they've been out a few years. The helium tech has been pretty much proven in enterprise so if it's good enough for them it should be good enough for home nas use.
  22. Definitely the way to go if you can. Buying a LSI 9201-16i controller really only makes sense if you're limited on pcie slots, or if you plan on saving those slots for other cards. Anyway this thread should probably ought to be moved to the storage/controllers subforum.
  23. It's available at newegg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G28N4011&cm_re=LSI_9201-16i-_-16-118-142-_-Product
  24. Yeah, i'm running the LSI 9201-16i in my backup server. Works fine in unraid. And since it's a pure hba, not a raid controller, it doesn't need to be flashed to IT mode.
