  1.

    ok in topic VDR

    first copy folder from /etc/vdr to example /mnt/cache/.apps/vdr

    1. You need channels.conf (channels list)

    Some you can download from here ... http://channelpedia.yavdr.com/gen/

    or just search on google some uploads etc.

    This page looks like it might be useful for generating a channels.conf

    http://wirbel.htpc-forum.de/w_scan/index_en.html

    Am looking forward to having a play with this.  Still haven't worked out an epg solution though...

  2. Hi

    This is new build of unRAID rc12

    https://truck.it/p/Z5ZmFlCsMH

    - added media tree

    - added few new Firmwares

    - vdr 1.7.38 with few plugins

    (on the end of march will be final 2.0)

    - fix for NIC realtek 8169

    - added some tweek for more info in XBMC skins :P

    Tomorrow more about that ;) and how run VDR

    - and yes this is screen from XBMC ;)

    Hi piotrasd,

    Thanks for all your hard work keeping this plugin going.  I've updated my server to rc12 but now my TV Card isn't getting recognised (No hardware found)  It's a TBS Quad DVB-T2 6284, and the drivers are located here:

    http://www.tbsdtv.com/download/document/common/tbs-linux-drivers_v130318.zip

    I'd be most grateful if these could be added or which may be better, so we can all stop bothering you,  ;) if you give me some instructions on how to add them ourselves.

    I'm very much looking forward to trying out VDR.  Clicking refresh on this thread far too much for it to be healthy.

    Thanks very much

  3. Tried the itunes server plugin.  The sqlite component is no longer available.  I did manage to find the slackware package online and change the md5 as I just wanted to have a play around, but thought you'd want to know.

    Great work by the way, love the look and functionality and especially the "modular" design.

  4. Hi guys

    Im new to unraid and linux, I just finished building my unraid server and done with migration.

    parity and cache done. Thanks to the multiple nice guides found within this forum. ;D

    my question: scared like a deer in front of a train :o, I want to install mysql to my cache drive in order to have 1 central database for my xbmc rasp pi database.

    I couldnt find a guide for that, is there one?

    My system is running well but I scared of screwing something up

    any help would be appreciated

    Thanks

    M@Z

    Here's how I did it.

  5. Thanks a lot. That is really a pity. Anyhow, the plg should then be removed from the ZIP file.

    Another question that I have: what is the latest mySQL version that is running without any hassle? I still have installed Mysql-5.1.66-i468-6atv.plg.

    Is anyone here happy with an more recent update?

    Here you go. Unfortunately the server where the package is located updates so the plugin is only valid for the version it was created for and that version is removed once there's an update, so recommend saving a backup of the package file that is downloaded.

  6. Would someone be so kind to cast an eye over this, it's an old drive I used in a WHS build.

    Thanks very much guys, especially Joe for all his hard work!

  7. I am a noob, currently just finished installing SAB and configured it however SB  will not open it's web site when I hit running. I have checked everything and all seems to be correctly installed and running correctly, how ever when ever I click running it opens SAB. Ok I know  it is a SAB pluggin however it dosent seem to be installed there.

    Please note I have also installed CP and it opens up its own  web page first time I hit running.

    Thanks

    Check your config, I think by default both Sickbeard and SAB both install using port 8081, they need to be different.

  8. As information becomes outdated so quickly I thought I'd post how I managed to get everything working for OpenElec 2.99.3 but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work for any other Frodo release.  I've also attached a few files that I've been using to try and help those that like myself are inexperienced with a lot of the stuff that many users on here are very familiar with.

    My setup is a UnRaid Server and a Openelec HTPC, to configure everything I used my Windows 7 Netbook. MySql database is located on my cache drive.

    Step 1.

    Used the MySql 5.5 plugin from here.

    http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=20603.msg229248#msg229248

    and installed it to /mnt/cache/.mysql

    Step 2.

    Then as I've never used MySql before I used a program called HeidiSQL for Windows

    http://www.heidisql.com/

    Started it up, Selected MySQL (TCP/IP) put my Unraid IP address into Hostname/IP and used root as both user and password, clicked open.

    Step 3.

    Go to Tools select user manager and click to add a new user, username and password both xbmc and from host selected access from everywhere.  Then save changes and exit HeidiSQL.

    Step 4.

    Created, with the help of several other people copies, an advancedsettings.xml and copied to the /userdata folder using Notepad++ from here (Make sure encoding is set to UTF8 without BOM): http://notepad-plus-plus.org/

    Here's a template of mine.

    <advancedsettings>
        <videodatabase>
            <type>mysql</type>
            <host>xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx</host>
            <port>3306</port>
            <user>xbmc</user>
            <pass>xbmc</pass>
        </videodatabase>

       <musicdatabase>
            <type>mysql</type>
            <host>xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx</host>
            <port>3306</port>
            <user>xbmc</user>
            <pass>xbmc</pass>

    Now I did run into a problem once I restarted my Openelec machine.  As it's on a SSD it boots so quickly the network isn't up and running to access the mysql database.

    Found the solution on the Openelec forum and it is to create an autostart.sh file and copy it to the config folder.  It contained:

    #!/bin/sh
    ifconfig eth0 up
    ifconfig eth0 PUT XBMC MACHINE IP ADDRESS HERE
    route add default gw PUT ROUTER IP ADDRESS HERE

    Rebooted my openelec machine, added my sources and scanned them to the database and hey presto.

    Thanks to p1lot and SeeDrs on the Unraid Forum and scsa20 over at Openelec, as well as the XBMC and Openelec Wikis.

    Like i said this was intended to be a very basic guide for those like myself that have no experience with MySql and it's configuration.

  9. Please do post it. I'm sure it will help someone else out on a new or fresh install.

    Here you go, note this will only work for anyone trying this out until the host updates the packages then you can no longer download it.  I'm just messing around with centralising my XBMC database so wanted to try things out.  Plugin worked for me, but I've never edited a plg before so your mileage may vary..

    It is MySql 5.5.30

    Edit: Well, worked well enough to sort out my XBMC Frodo database.

  10. Thanks for your help, but I already figured out that it is the tvheadend process: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=26202.0

    Don't know why it isn't stopping tvheadend anymore :-(

    Sorry mate,

    If it helps my config is 5.0 RC11 the plugins I have are SABNZB, Sickbeard, APC UPS and TVHeadend, all exept my APC UPS are running off my Cache drive.  No problems here, although because of my UPS it means that the plugin installs a powerdown script of some description but I don't think it's used during normal operation.

    Good Luck though.

  11. Found this is another thread if it's any help.

    All drives in the arry say stopped.  The Cache drive still says Unmounting and the status says Stopping.  Sooo... I can't add a device.  Not sure what to do at this point.  Reboot from the command line?  If I do that it will kicj off a parity check, and I will have to wait for that to finish before trying to stop the array again.

    Type

    lsof /mnt/cache

    and

    fuser -mv /mnt/cache

    and see what process is keeping the disk from being un-mounted.

    Then, type

    kill PID

    where PID  is the process ID number.

    The disk should then un-mount (as unRAID is continually trying to un-mount it)

  12. Can't help you, but mine shuts down with no problems, and I set mine up from github and didn't use the plg either, not particularly experienced with Linux but pretty sure there's a way via telnet to bring up processes to help debug why the array can't unmistakable disks.  I'll have a quick google...

  13. I still have all the original 3.14.10 files that I retrieved from the dropbox-urls when I first installed apcupsd. I'm not sure if that is what you people are asking for, but if so, I uploaded them to my own webspace, where they won't be deleted for a while. :)http://www.burngaming.net/unraid.apcupsd-3.14.10-i486-2atv.rar

    Cheers!

    Thanks for this, much appreciated. Managed to delete mine whilst "experimenting"

  14. Quick question,  I've got the plugin working but I'm now trying to get it to run automatically on boot.

    My go file reads like this:

    #!/bin/bash
    # Start the Management Utility
    /usr/local/sbin/emhttp &
    cd /boot/packages && find . -name '*.auto_install' -type f -print | sort | xargs -n1 sh -c
    installpkg /boot/packages/tvheadend-20130128-i686-1PTr.txz

    And then if I run the command

    sudo -u root tvheadend -c /mnt/cache/.tvheadend -u nobody -g video -f

    (through telnet using Putty logged in as root) Then it runs as expected and I do not need to enter a username or password to use TVheadend.

    What I can't quite figure out is if I add the line to my go file then as soon as I try and visit server:9981 I am asked for a username and password which I have no idea what they are.

    Any thoughts, comments or suggestions?

    (glibc-2.7-i486-17.tgz is located in /boot/packages/)

    Thanks guys.

    Read one page back, same problem with me... Try

    sleep 10 && sudo -u root tvheadend -c /mnt/cache/.tvheadend -u nobody -g video -f

    in your go file... tvheadend starts to fast, the config folder is not yet there ;-)

    Thanks mate, have read this thread and the wiki countless times, my brains scrambled! Can't believe I missed that.

    - all driver of tuners from kernel turned ON

    - added Firmwares of tuners

    - some fix for realtek NIC (i hope enough)

    - added exFAT and NTFS support (latest driver 2013)

    - added mc

    https://dl.dropbox.com/u/49442039/unraid.rc11.tbs.zip

    BTW. unraid 5.0 final come with 64bit support, and i just only tell the package of tvheadend and driver are ready for 64bit system ;)

    Never mind, got it working with this package and the instructions from spylex's GitHub page.  Impressive.  ;)

  17. Cool topic and if you search for rsync you will probably find a thread or two that I started and within the one that is titled 'rsync between 2 unraid server' you will see a step by step guide that I put together.

    It's funny you mention this because I've been thinking about leasing a cabinet... So I work for a carrier and I can easily sell myself data center colocation at very minimum margins. The problem is that it's still expensive, but maybe we can all figure out something...

    I would love nothing more than to have  replication of my home unRAID as I have footage from my hobby job that I would be crushed to loose. Sure I have some Bluray backup, but I would really love to host something in data center :) Yes, I'm a sales guy that loves technology and people look at me like I'm crazy that I want a cabinet, LOL

    I came to the realisation that it doesn't actually cost much for me to build an UnRAID server and that it was basically an insurance policy.  But with a one off fee and very low yearly fees as the backup will only be switched on when required.  I've lost count of the amount of important data I've lost over the years because I didn't protect it well enough so this was the idea I came up.  Currently cloning disk 3 of 5  ;D

    Will look into the Rsync method, thanks for letting me know about your post.

  18. I would not do this with the cache drive. Instead I would use an external USB drive.

    Mount it on /mnt/backups when needed and umount disconnected it when done.

    With the cache drive the array will have to be stopped. The cache drive will need to be taken out of the array then restarted.

    The opposite on the other side.

    With an external USB drive it can be mounted/unmounted on demand.

    You can do an rsync -a /mnt/disk1 /mnt/usbdrive/disk1 on one machine

    then do rsync --remove-sent-files -av /mnt/usbdrive/disk1 /mnt/disk1 on the other machine. which will empty each folder respectively.

    The trick is knowing which files to back up.

    In that case you may need to use find command like this.

    find /mnt/disk1 -newer /mnt/cache/.backups/disk1.lastbackup -type f -print  > /mnt/cache/.backups/disk1.filelist

    Then use rsync with the files-from=/mnt/cache/.backups/disk1.filelist

    then touch /mnt/cache/.backups/disk1.lastbackup to set a new pointer.

    I think that sounds like a much better way to do things actually.  What I'd like to do is copy everything to the cache drive as per normal, and when it moves it to the array also make a copy and put it on the external USB.  Is that feasible?

  19. I am sorry as I keep adding things to clarify and you're being very patient with me.  I won't be deleting any files, it's all archived stuff.

    The first task I want to accomplish is just to create a duplicate server with the same files on each disk.

    After that I intend to copy new files to the cache drive and leave them there, then transport that drive to the offsite and copy them onto the backup server, then transport the drive back and move the files to my server.

    Once again, thank you so much for taking the trouble to help and painstakingly drag the necessary information from me!!

    :D
