  1. maybe it hasn't to do with the samba share but how UD mounts the rootshare. using the UD rootshare, any exclusive share is missing. using my own rootshare defined in smb-extra, it worked (but I use /mnt/user directly) I just checked the mount under /mnt/rootshare/ and I can't go to any exclusive share in there. attached is a screenshot from both exclusive shares, once listed in the rootshare folder and once in /mnt/user. inside the rootshare folder any symlink is displayed red and not working.
  2. rootshares don't work with exlusive shares active. the rootshare won't follow the symlinks used for exclusive shares would it be possible, to add these lines to the smb config for root shares, if exclusive shares are enabled? follow symlinks = yes wide links = yes

  9. If you are using the domain as URL, it should work from local Network too. Example: I configured plexpy.mydomain to connect to my plexpy docker via the reverse proxy. The port forwardings are as described in my previous post. I can connect via https://plexpy.mydomain in my local network and from remote locations. Not sure, if necessary, but I deactivated DNS rebind protection in my router for mydomain. plexpy.mydomain points to my WAN IP address.

  16. I think I had a similar issue a week ago or so... to fix it, I redownloaded the PMS Docker. Works fine at the moment (but I use my appdata on the cache drive. afaik the unassigned disk addon mounts drives before docker starts, so this should work fine, too) Update: I now remember, what caused the problem for me. I restarted the container, while it was downloading a new PMS release. On the next start, the download would start again, but with an other filename (I think it added "-1" at the end of the file), but it tried to install the previous (failed) download. so no PMS would get installed and the docker couldn't run it. not quite the same issue but maybe related...
  17. the development version added support for custom post processing scripts. (i'm currently using a python script to add any anime processed by sonarr to my anidb listing) it would be great, if you could add python to your docker, so we could easily use this new feature. or maybe add a functionality to install custom packages via an environment variable. (currently i've installed python via a docker exec command, but that change would of course be gone, if I have to redownload the docker for any reason.)
  18. if use cache is active, files written to the share will be written to the cache. files will be read from cache, if they are currently on the cache drive. the cache drives main purpose is to accelerate writes. the mover then moves the files to the array. (you can set the intervall in the scheduler settings. i think most people move daily during the night) shares with cache only are ignored by the mover, so files get written to the cache and will stay on the cache. (mostly used for application data from docker apps and virtual machines)
  19. maybe I misunderstood you in your first post on my system, i have every season of a show on the same disk and not only the files of one season. for the first case, you can use the same command as with the movies. for the second case (i thought, you wanted to do this), use the other command I posted above (with mindepth and maxdepth set to 2). try to use the command with -t at the end instead of -f first, to see, if it does, what you want... case 1 (move every season of a show to the same disk): disk1/TV/show1/season 01/... disk1/TV/show1/season 02/... disk1/TV/show1/season 03/... disk2/TV/show2/season 01/... disk2/TV/show2/season 02/... case 2 (consolidate on a season level, so all files of a season are on the same disk, but seasons of a show could be on different disks): disk1/TV/show1/season 01/... disk3/TV/show1/season 02/... disk2/TV/show1/season 03/... disk1/TV/show2/season 01/... disk4/TV/show2/season 02/...
  20. @markswift: i've used consld8 recently for my Movies Collection for the same reason you wish. Since I have a few thousand movie folders, i used following command: (USE AT OWN RISK) find "/mnt/user/Media/Movies" -mindepth 1 -maxdepth 1 -type d -print0 | xargs -0 -n 1 consld8 -f the find command goes through the submitted path (in this case /mnt/user/Media/Movies) and only lists directories (-type d). with help of maxdepth, i tell find to not include any subdirectories in the listing. mindepth 1 tells find to not include the parent directory. it could be modified for your season problem (i used the same script for my tv shows, so every season of a show is on the same disk). if you want to have it consolidate on a season and not show level, you could use this command: find "/mnt/user/Media/TV" -mindepth 2 -maxdepth 2 -type d -print0 | xargs -0 -n 1 consld8 -f (not tested, but should work. mindepth and maxdepth are modified, so only the subdirectories of the shows (season folders) are seen. If you want to test it without moving anything, replace the -f at the end with -t. (of course you have to change the path at the beginning, pointing to the correct user share) this runs consld8 in auto mode, so the script will try to determine the best target disk.
  21. open a terminal window and type telnet -l root tower (replace tower with the hostname of your unraid server or use the ip) type in the password of your root user (default is now password, simply hit enter) once you are logged in, type "mc" to run midnight commander, which is a simple file manager tool on linux systems. navigate to your shares under /mnt (with tab you can switch the panels (left/right) use F5 to copy, F6 to move. you can select items with ctrl+t so you can copy/move multiple items at once

I would create the Media share, set it up with a split level 0 (manual), so that only a disk with the parent folder already on it would be used (so only a disk, where Media/TV exists would be used for TV Shows. Unraid won't create the TV folder itself.) of course, this can also be obtained by a split level of 2(? not sure). but then a tv show could be split across multiple disks... then I would create the Media Folder on each disk and then move the TV/Movies/Pictures folders via mc to the Media folder: move /mnt/disk1/TV to /mnt/disk1/Media/TV move /mnt/disk2/Movies to /mnt/disk2/Media/Movies and so on...
