  1. Hello, I have a bunch of ISO files on my unraid server that I have been trying to get the m2ts file from. Once I mount them on my mac from my server, it takes close to 72h to transfer the m2ts file to my server. Why the heck does this take so long?
  2. I was thinking in the night and I think this is probably the issue. I'll let you know later tonight.
  3. Using version 6 worked to get an ip. I was able to mount 3 of 9 drives (1 parity, 2 disks), but when I try to start the other 6 in the array nothing happens. It says "restart smb..." at the bottom and then just goes back to the array operations screen. Every drive was working well in my old array. Any ideas?
  4. Hello, I tried the other LAN ports and also the IPMI port. I tried different ethernet cables. I tried going from my router and then from my switch. Frustratingly, none of these worked. I looked in my BIOS if there was anything disabled, but I didn't see anything that stuck out.
  5. Hello, I had a unraid server installed on an older system, but it was getting a bit slow. I bought a new Motherboard, the Supermicro SM X10SL7-F, and CPU, Intel Xeon E3-1231V3. I started up the new system with the USB I had always used and it seemed to start up fine. I used ifconfig to get my IP addy, but it didn't list one. Attached is a picture. What can I do to fix this? Thanks
  6. Hello, I am upgrading my server's hardware. Everything besides the tower and power supply. What do I need to do to make sure nothing happens to screw up my current setup? Thanks
  7. Some people have noticed the WD Reds don't work with the LSI on this mobo. I've talked to others online that haven't had issues. Are the people having issues doing something wrong? Does anyone else have WD Reds functioning properly on the LSI?
  8. If I am connecting a SATA drive to the LSI, do I need to use reverse breakout cables or will SATA 3 cables work? If it's reverse breakout cables, it seems like it would be cheaper to get a SATA controller for somewhere in the 100 dollar range and jsut use SATA cables. The breakout cables are crazy expensive.
  9. There are a couple of other boards with similar configuration (AsRock has one with 22 ports) ... but they all use the LSI 2308 for some of those ports, so I suspect they have the same issue. I'd be inclined to just use a board with fewer ports and an add-in 8-port controller. I was thinking the same thing. I'm putting in my order tomorrow. Is there one you can recommend?
  10. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=27800.0 The OP states recently as of May that the controller wasn't recognizing the Reds.
  11. Just doing some final research before I buy my stuff. From what I have been reading, the WD Reds are incompatible with the LSI 2308 SATA ports. What other board should I go with if this is the case?
  12. I attached a different SATA cable and to a different port and it was about the same. It was actually a little faster (80 kb/s vs 10 kb/s), but obviously this is still too slow. Attached is the smart report. What does it tell you? smart.txt
  13. Here is my power supply: http://www.corsair.com/en/tx750w . I think it should handle the drives I have hooked up so far. I have not checked the cabling. I will check that out. This is my newest drive, but not a replacement drive. I did not preclear it, but I have with a couple of my other drives. If it's not the cabling then what should I do?
  14. Hello, I am having problem with my Unraid system. Ever since I added my latest WD Red 4 TB Drive I have had problems populating the Unraid system from my torrent machine. I have done a parity check and it was chugging along at 40 mb/sec until I hit 78%. Ever since then it's only been 10 kb/sec. Obviously, there seems to be an issue with my newest drive. I attached a screen cap as well as a copy of my syslog from about 3 minutes of this parity check. What can I do? Will I be able to just replace the drive and rebuild? Need your help, please. Thanks Syslog.pdf
  15. Perfect. Thanks guys. Appreciate the advice and I'll let you know how it goes.
  16. It's this one here: http://www.corsair.com/en/tx750w
  17. I have all WD Reds 4TB drives.
  18. I'd be up for upgrading everything as long as it runs much faster. I would include transcoding in "running plex".
  19. Hello, I currently have an Unraid set-up that is running components from 2008. I would like to run the plex media server off the unraid so I need a bit more processing power in order to do that. My needs: - Mobo supports 8 sata with PCI slot for Sata controller for a total of 12 drives - I currently have a 600 W power source which should do My budget is around 800 dollars What are your thoughts? How much RAM/CPU power do I need? Thanks
