  1. Set a new config, assign ALL your 2TB drives as data, no parity slot assignments at all. Start the array and see what happens. If you get 2 unmountable drives, stop the array, start in maintenance mode, and run file system checks on the 2 unmountable drives and copy the results here.
  2. For what? Please describe what you need to accomplish.
  3. Erasing the signature wasn't the critical part, the format was. Formatting adds the blank file system information to the drive, which means it's no longer clear. Think of a clear hard drive as a completely empty room. The file format would be like the filing cabinets you add to the room to make it capable of holding file folders with files in it. It's the organizational system. Parity emulates the entire room, filing cabinets (file system, XFS in this case) and all. In order to not affect valid parity, the room you add must be completely empty, adding the file system and any files must be done after Unraid has started tracking and synchronizing changes with the parity drive.
  4. Why are you trying to use the OpenVPN AS docker? Pfsense has OpenVPN functionality pretty much out of the box.
  5. Generic answer: any linux based software that doesn't require a local console and direct access to hardware to be useful. If it can render output to a webpage, or vnc or rdp it typically can be shoehorned in. Exceptions can be found, but generically speaking, that's pretty much it.
  6. Since the CPU socket has a fairly direct connection to the memory nowadays, if reseating the DIMM doesn't change anything, I'd swap the DIMM to another socket and see if the errors follow the DIMM or stay with that socket. I think it's possible a pin not making good connection to the CPU could theoretically be at fault, but I'm not a board engineer so I can't be positive.
  7. The title of this thread refers to the fact that someone has exposed their server's webGUI to the internet, compounded by the lack of password. When you say you think your server is not secured, do you have access to manage the server from outside your LAN? If so, how exactly do you do that? If your answer doesn't involve connecting to your own VPN server, you are likely vulnerable.
  8. Top right of that screen, select advanced view instead of basic.
  9. Fingers crossed they'll offer you a bulk rate discount, especially if you have very many similar or identical models.
  10. Well, at the very least get a quote from them on sending the drives in. 30TB is an awful lot to recover from backups, and if it was just a voltage spike the drives are likely ok to be reused after a circuit board replacement.
  11. Yeah, don't do that. Yet. There are resources available to replace circuit boards. I've used these guys, no affiliation or kickbacks, just a satisfied customer. https://www.donordrives.com/
  12. No, you need to disable the VPN portion of jackett altogether, as the privoxy part of delugevpn will be handling everything. To ensure it's working, stop the delugevpn container and make sure jackett can no longer connect.
  13. The next step is asking @limetech to include the driver. The reason it's not in there at the moment, is likely that no one has done the homework and asked. Since Unraid runs in RAM, only drivers that are truly needed are included. If you need something added, you can ask, and if there are no show stoppers it will likely be included in the next release, which may be anywhere from a few weeks to a few months away. I suggest composing an email using the contact us link at the bottom of the page, and include a link to this topic. You can certainly compile your own kernel using the resources available here on the forums if you wish, as that is the only way to get the driver in the current release.
  14. Automated port scans. VPN server hosted on your router or similar is a better option.
  15. Change the auto start so the array doesn't come up automatically.
  16. Create an archive file on the source end so you only need to transfer 1 large file.
  17. Preclear has NEVER been necessary. Ever. Originally, many many years ago, unraid wouldn't fully start and allow you to use it while a new drive was being cleared in preparation to participate in the parity calculation. That created a need for the ability to clear the drive before you added it, and pre-clear was born. It matured into a drive testing tool and continues in that role today. Now, when you add a drive to a parity protected array, Unraid starts fully and allows you to use all the normal array functions while the newly added drive is cleared in the background. When it's done clearing, you will be given the option to format it and start using it to store data. Pre-clear isn't necessary now, and it wasn't necessary before, just a convenience. However... because unraid requires the full rated capacity of ALL drives, even empty ones, to be perfectly readable to accurately reconstruct a failed drive, it is prudent to test drives before trusting them in the array. This can be accomplished with the drive manufacturers tools, third party drive testing utilities, or preclear. It's just one option, a very thorough option, to test drives. If a drive is precleared successfully, then as long as it remains in that state with no changes, format, partition or otherwise, then when you add the drive to the parity protected array unraid detects the special preclear signature and trusts that the drive is clear and immediately offers to format it instead of clearing it. However, the preclear utility takes WAY longer to do its job than the built in clear which doesn't do testing and verification does, so the fastest option is indeed just to plug in the new drive and add it to the array.
  18. You should have it set for cache prefer, that way if the files weren't open mover would have automatically put them on the cache where they belong. Turn on the help on the share settings page for explanation of the cache modes.
  19. No, set the http proxy field in jackett to the IP address of the delugevpn container (typically the IP of your Unraid) along with the port defined in the delugevpn privoxy field, typically 8118. Like 192.168.1.10:8118
  20. I don't use jackett, but a quick google leads me to believe there is a setting in the GUI for a http proxy entry.
  21. Only a fraction of Unraid users read this forum, and only a fraction of those post. There is no guarantee that someone clueless enough to leave the server open is clueful enough to come here for help.
  22. Every time you see the machine is online and unsecured, shut it down. Least harm possible for best benefit. It can't be hacked by anyone else if it's off.
  23. @Doftorul, by proven, he means it works and more importantly doesn't screw up any existing functionality. Last thing we need is a change that breaks unraid for others. Does it pass SMART information and commands properly? Does it support spin down? Does it pass the serial numbers without modifying them with added or truncated ID strings?
  24. Did you google the error? Second hit: https://www.redhat.com/archives/virt-tools-list/2017-September/msg00008.html
