  1. Super small = heat buildup = dead drives Go with a large form factor with lots of metal shell, and put it inside the case where it can't get disturbed. If your motherboard doesn't have a USB port internal, motherboard header to USB socket adapters are cheap and easy to fit.
  2. https://github.com/binhex/documentation/blob/master/docker/faq/vpn.md See Q4. Binhex's VPN containers are locked down, you must add exceptions for each IP that will be allowed to access the webui. Either list each network you are going to be accessing it from as above, or set up a reverse proxy where the container sees the accesses as local.
  3. I believe you would need to add the remote WAN addresses you wish to access from into the LAN network container entry.
  4. Definitely, those cards are designed for rack servers, where airflow is guaranteed over all the slots. If the card is used in a desktop, you must add forced airflow over the heatsink somehow.
  5. I have my backup server at my business, and it's on 24/7/365 running urbackup.
  6. Verify the disk type defined in the xml is correct, I seem to remember someone saying it reverted to raw instead of qcow or something like that.
  7. I've seen your other posts, and from what I can tell, it works fine if you use another name for the container. Why is that not an acceptable work-around? I get that it should work without doing that, but if you have a working solution, I doubt anyone will be super excited to spend a bunch of time figuring out what's stuck in your specific system.
  8. Safari is known to be randomly problematic for some subset of folks. Can you recreate the issues in a chrome based browser? Firefox almost works, but has a nasty habit of popping up a "resubmit information" dialog, which if you cancel, the browser works great, if you accept, it causes all sorts of issues.
  9. I would rethink that strategy, as it will propagate any and all corruption and accidental deletions, probably before you can catch them. Much better to have a real backup with versioning.
  10. Use a poor man's mechanics stethoscope, hold the handle of a screwdriver against your ear, and LIGHTLY touch the tip to each drive. Or, use a real one, they're dirt cheap.
  11. Does it occur with the stock Unraid installation, or only when the plugin is installed? If the plugin causes the issue, the plugin needs to be fixed, not Unraid.
  12. Need more info. Recycle bin plugin running when this happened? File deleted by smb client? If not, the only way I know to undelete files is third party file recovery software like UFS Explorer.
  13. Most likely the CPU is "busy" waiting for I/O from the disks.
  14. One quick nit, the terminology "expander" doesn't quite fit what you really need at this stage. You are really looking for a HBA controller, the word expander is more typically used for a special piece of equipment that connects to the HBA and splits the ports to allow many more drives. They don't work by themselves, they must be connected to a compatible HBA. I'd hate for you to find a "deal" on an expander only to find out it's not going to work for you as is.
  15. Have you already gone through the AMD checklist of things to look for like idle settings and disabling XMP?
  16. If you assign all the drives exactly as they were, you can select "parity is already valid". It would still be a good idea to check parity though.
  17. @SpencerJ? Perhaps try again in a little while?
  18. Media downloaders and players have been known to delete files in certain circumstances. Misconfiguration and exposure to WAN without proper security come to mind. For instance, Plex has a setting to delete files after they have been viewed. If that is set, all files with a viewed status will be deleted during routine file maintenance.
  19. Unraid assumes any multi-drive pool is redundant, since that's the default setting. It's a known issue.
  20. Is the device you are trying to access it from get an IP on the same subnet? Can you ping Unraid's IP from that device?
  21. Not recommended, be sure you keep good backups. See the RAID section of this article, and many others. https://itsfoss.com/btrfs/
