  1. Well it finally froze up again. I had to force shut off with hold of the power button. System booted up this time without whiping the bios and loaded Unraid. I selected Safemode without plugins and with GUI as I did back last post on the 14th. syslog attached using method recommended for flash syslog
  2. @JorgeBHello again, I'm back unfortunatly and could use your help or anyone who might understand what I'm missing in my system log writen by the syslog server recommended to use. The server froze up agaib but this time the bios was intact but I found that the Unradi Flash was not reading the same description as usual in the bios and also would not load unraid. I took out the usb flash drive and placed it into a win 10 machine which it wanted to fit it but at the time said no. I located I believe the system log you might be requesting and posted it here below. At this time the Unraid flash has not been placed into the server machine until I hear back to do so. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. syslog
  3. Thank you @JorgeB for your help. Take care and I will rememer to use this next time and also check my fans for issues first.
  4. Hello All, Well, we're running into a problem with one of my unraid servers. I have included the diagnostics report. Hoping that some of you could help me find a solution to my problem. My server can be turned on for hours to a few days and then all of a sudden it locks up no user interface. I go to look at the unit which has a keyboard and mouse connected to it and the keyboard has 3 blinking LEDs on the top indicating something wrong. It's a weird situation. I have a LSI 6Gbps SAS SATA P20 card and also a p400 video card for transcoding. It seems I have to unplug (not all of the time) the p400 to start the machine up and takes me to the BIOS not actually starting up unraid from the usb. I either load up one of my profiles or can tell the bios to start with the usb thumb drive and off it runs. I then have to power off the machine plug in my p400 in the machine boots up to unrade no problem. I have tried installing a new p400. I have also tried swapping out the SATA drive card. Both of these units don't seem to be causing the problem or are they?, but then again hopefully this diagnostics zip file will tell what's going on. When I try and do a shutdown using the power button after losing GUI because sometimes the keyboard is not blinking. It does try and go into a graceful shutdown. I have been known to leave it there for a few hours and I still come back and it still hasn't fully shut down. Any direction of good help Please let me know how to proceed. Thank you all for your time and reading this. Added May 7, 2023 I did follow the drections for monitoring the system option 1 and no errors during that. I found the problem to be a fan going bad which was causing the motherboard bios issue and loss of the setting. I will call this error closed at this time and will report back if it ever comes back. Thank you all for reading an your support.
  5. This card does in fact work and after 3 weeks its been working just fine. No complaints. Found it on eBay being sold as what it is instead of what else it can do in another system and the price wasn't jacked up because the seller didn't think it was used in crypto. Have fun, And Thanks again @JorgeB
  6. Good to know thank you. I found this in the online manual at HPE in case anyone else is looking to get this type of card. HP 727252-001 761879-001 727523-001 12GB SAS Expansion Board for DL380 Gen 9 or 10 Drive bay numbering: SAS expander Drive numbering through a SAS Expander is continuous. SAS expander port 1 always connects to port 1 of the controller. SAS expander port 2 always connects to port 2 of the controller. SAS expander port 3 = drive numbers 1-4. SAS expander port 4 = drive numbers 5-8. SAS expander port 5 = drive numbers 9-12. SAS expander port 6 = drive numbers 13-16. SAS expander port 7 = drive numbers 17-20. SAS expander port 8 = drive numbers 21-24. SAS expander port 9 = drive numbers 25-28. Common configuration examples: Maybe there could be other ways of connecting it but for me this way is my plan. I will close this thread probably in the next week once I have tested it to work for me as expected.
  7. Thank you. I ordered it. My gut said it should work but best to ask for advice first. Now I need to locate the instruction on the plug in slots from the LSI as pictures I've seen don't show them and olny ports 1 thru 9
  8. Hello, I have a Lenovo 9240-8i with LSI 9210-8i FW 6Gbps SAS HBA P20 IT Mode ZFS for my unRAID system and I'm wondering if this card HP 727252-001 761879-001 727523-001 12GB SAS Expansion Board for DL380 Gen 9 will work with this card listed by using the proper SAS cables Mini SAS to Mini SAS Cable (Mini-SAS to Mini-SAS Cable) 1.6 Feet, 0.5m? As I have a 24 bay server case now and would like to use this card for it. Thank you for your help and time,
  9. I did a screen capture here of the GUI frozen on my Network PC as I moniored the Server as it did it's parity Check. As you can see it did finish. Also I took a picture of the Monitor of whats left. and Left the server on as the keyboard would not type and the power button would not create the Diagnostic's file I needed. I am including one that was captured just after turning the server on. So at the moment I guess the only thing I can do is shut if off by holding the power button. I will wait for your advice.\Thank you r2d2-diagnostics-20190629-1428.zip
  10. Thank you Johnnis.black I will start that right away and post back in a few days. Okay Started it in safe mode with no plugins and dockers off Parity Check is running. I assume I let that run and try to finish? Please advise. Thank you again.
  11. So I ran and I'm still running MemTest but thankfully no errors as simple as that could be I'm still stuck. Anything else I need to be looking at?
  12. Hello All, I'm kind of at a loss here. Please help if you are able to offer any possible fix for my server. Thank you I have 2 logs I have to hopefully show whats going on inside my server from today. I have included monitor screen shots of what was on the screen when I walked to it and then having to press the power button on the tower to force a shut down which never came to be only did what is displayed on the screen. The log ending in 2226 I believe to be the log I created just after turning the server back on and saving it. Thank you for your time and help, C r2d2-diagnostics-20190626-2226.zip r2d2-diagnostics-20190626-1340.zip
  13. Thank you very much Binhex That fixed them up. GUI is back.
  14. I think I cleared it out correctly. I hope so Thank you
  15. Thank you Binhex for I waited for a fix to update my other unraid servers. Running 6.5.2 Pro but it seems that the fix didn't work for me when I tried to update the first one that now still gives me the error 404. So for the moment I'm still in the same boat. Any suggestions I should do to fix my problem and not loose GUI on my last server? Thank you for your time and this great version.
  16. Format that disk and restore from backups. When you say that are you saying to use the parity to rebuild that disk?
  17. I feel like I'm still in the same boat on this Johnnie.black and not sure where to go next. Any thoughts? Phase 1 using Blank Unraid 6.5.2.txt Phase 1 using -n Unraid 6.5.2.docx
  18. Here you go and thank you. Both files are the same choose which ever is best for you to read and understand. Thank you again, Phase 1.docx Phase 1.txt
  19. Went to play a movie on my media player to find that I couldn't find source of my Unraid server. I tried a couple times to to list my movie files but nothing. So I when to my laptop computer and pulled up the server to find the my number 8 drive was not mounted and said Unmountable No File System. I'm not sure when this happen as I have not played a movie from it in some time. I google searched it and found some thread hear with the same problem. I read through them and even tried there solutions without success. I tried clicking on the drive once in maintenance mode and tried using the ( Check Filesystem Status) which really seemed to be the same thing and finished with the same error at the bottom. xfs_repair: phase6.c:1308: longform_dir2_rebuild: Assertion `done' failed. Any help anyone can offer would be great. Thank you, r2d2-diagnostics-20180520-1846.zip
  20. Thank you for the help. I shut down unraid and checked power and SATA connections. Reseating them and the Sata card I powered the server back on. It seems to be fine now. I checked Fix Common problems and everything it error free. I'll see how the system stays over the next few hours and days and report back. Have not done anything to the docker image yet. Is that cool for now if it's working don't touch things? Thanks again,
  21. Hello All, Okay long story short I lost 7 total drives including parody dirve in a mistake of a power supply. 1 of the seven drives was the cache Drive as well. That was covered under warranty. And has been replaced so that leaves six drives mechanical that belong to the unraid server that were needing repair. I sent the boards from the hard drives off for clone and repair. Four of those hard drives (one is the parity drive) have been repaired and or cloned and are seen in the unraid server as part of the system of drives. 2 have not been repaired. One being a Western Digital another being a Toshiba the place of repair claims Western digital's are not as forgiving as the other four drives which are Seagate. Now I've sent the cards off with the drives this time being cards off good working drives. In hopes they could use to repair my 2 old drives. The week after they've had them I get an email saying hard drives have a head problem do you have other donor drives? I have not responded to that yet thought I would ask you guys the situation it's a 2 terabyte and a 5 terabyte the 2tb has been in system a very long time 5 terabytes probably been in the system since 2015 which is not an awful long time but they very well could be filled up. So not really sure what the chances are of getting a hard drive repaired when you have to deal with the heads or if they're just trying to milk me for money? I know the chances are slim probably in getting both of them repaired and I know if I could just get one repaired I could probably rebuild the one drive with Unraid rebuild but how bad is it if I can't get either one repaired have I lost all the data of what those two drives had or is there any kind of a slim chance of being able to recover any of that information? Or you're probably going to tell me had I had dual parity in there that I could have recovered both drives without the repair of them. Thank you all for reading over this I know it's a lot of information I tried to shorten it. If you have any thoughts of what might help or just tell me I'm screwed or if you have a recommendation on really getting the drives repaired. Thank you, Chris
  22. Hello All, According to Fix Common problems plugin it recommended for me to post a system log and ask for help. I find my user shares to be gone also. think that the cache drive ran into space problems that might have started this. All he drives can be seen in the GUI and windows computer but cache when click on is not accessible. Cache drive says no docker image which may mean why I get a not readable in windows. Any help anyone can offer would be great. Thank you Thinking out loud was considering removing Plex Docker info on Cache and starting over with new storage of the library thumbs etc. As this area has grown to large proportions and may have old trash in it. c3po-diagnostics-20171219-2252.zip
