  1. I just picked up this used 12U rack from a guy for $250, its kind of like the one in this link however I think mine is an older model. https://www.startech.com/ca/Server-Management/Racks/15U-Enclosed-Cabinet-Plexiglass-Front-Door~2636CABINET Not sure what the market is like in the UK but I am sure you should be able to find something on the used market, craigslist maybe? Finding something for around 100 quid though might be a real challenge though.
  2. Problem with ESXi is hardware compatibility, if you want to run 6 or 6.5 then you are really stuck with running name brand hardware such as Dell, HP, Lenovo etc. This can further complicate things because these servers are generally big, loud and parts can be expensive but its doable. I just picked up a Dell R710 (rack mount) with dual quad core Xeons, 48GB of ECC RAM with one power supply and a Dell Perc 6i raid controller for $400 in a private sale. The Perc 6i does not handle drives over 2TB or do JBOD, but I didn't buy it for unRAID I bought it for ESXi and it runs great after I added some drives. If you look around on eBay you may find something that fits your budget just be careful of RAID controllers if you want to use greater than 2TB drives.
  3. Thanks that worked I was able to rollback. I could not find a mako folder.
  4. So I just updated to the latest release of Medusa and the webui is unavailable, it simply won't open. The logs seem to indicate a crash every time you try to access the webui. How do I rollback to the previous version? 2017-04-21 19:43:49 ERROR Thread-16 :: [9c19b10] Exception generated: Cant locate template for uri u'home.mako' Traceback (most recent call last):File "/app/medusa/medusa/server/web/core/base.py", line 259, in async_callresult = function(**kwargs)File "/app/medusa/medusa/server/web/home/handler.py", line 134, in indext = PageTemplate(rh=self, filename='home.mako')File "/app/medusa/medusa/server/web/core/base.py", line 61, in __init__self.template = lookup.get_template(filename)File "/app/medusa/lib/mako/lookup.py", line 259, in get_template"Cant locate template for uri %r" % uri)TopLevelLookupException: Cant locate template for uri u'home.mako' 2017-04-21 19:45:16 ERROR Thread-16 :: [9c19b10] Exception generated: Cant locate template for uri u'home.mako' Traceback (most recent call last):File "/app/medusa/medusa/server/web/core/base.py", line 259, in async_callresult = function(**kwargs)File "/app/medusa/medusa/server/web/home/handler.py", line 134, in indext = PageTemplate(rh=self, filename='home.mako')File "/app/medusa/medusa/server/web/core/base.py", line 61, in __init__self.template = lookup.get_template(filename)File "/app/medusa/lib/mako/lookup.py", line 259, in get_template"Cant locate template for uri %r" % uri)TopLevelLookupException: Cant locate template for uri u'home.mako' It appears to be functioning, its just the webgui is not accessible.
  5. ESXi is going to be tough to run on a laptop as far as hardware requirements go. Why don't you try Hyper-V I am sure you'll have much better luck installing a Microsoft Server OS on bare metal on your laptop.
  6. Perhaps I misunderstood you, are you saying you want to run unraid itself as a virtual machine? If that is the case then I did misunderstand you.
  7. I am not sure I can answer all your questions but I'll answer what I can. I would not worry too much about the flash drive dying, there is a way to back it up so that if that does happen its easy enough to swap out. I've had three unRAID servers running for over a year, no issues with my flash drive. If you want to run dockers and it sounds like you want to run something like Plex, then a cache drive is a great place for them to get installed, many of us use SSD's for our cache drives and you can configure then in RAID 1 for performance and redundancy as well. Using a parity drive while not necessary is recommended to protect your data, in fact you can have two parity drives as many of us do, but ultimately its up to you. As you know with the way unRAID works, if you lose a drive and have no parity drive, or backup, you only lose whatever was on that particular drive. One of my unRAID servers was built for the sole reason of running a Windows 10 VM for gaming, it has a quad core i7, 32GB of RAM and an Nvidia 960, its like playing on bare metal, I kid you not, so don't worry too much about the performance its real. Isolating your OS and programs/games on a dedicated SSD is key to VM performance. This drive is not part of the array but outside of it. Once you assign cores to a VM you cannot change them without powering down the VM. Don't confuse hardware RAID with unRAID, unRAID is software RAID and functions quite differently from hardware RAID. There are a number of FAQ's on this subject and I would refer you to those. Suffice it to say that if you want to protect your data in unRAID you should have a parity drive. You pay the key upgrade price when you want to upgrade which is cheaper then buying the key you need as if you were buying it the first time.
  8. Option 1 now, option 3 later to replace your parity drive, then this disk replaces disk 4. Done.
  9. Yeah I noticed that, sorry. I guess if I switch containers I have to reinstall plex? Takes days to index my media.....
  10. I guess I'm confused because I don't have that variable in my docker.
  11. So I right click on the Plex docker, go to edit and then do what where? Sorry if I am being daft, I've never done this before.
  12. I have another question. Lets say I want to grab a show that has been on the air for five seasons. I put the show in, Medusa does her thing and starts grabbing seasons. Lets say she grabs all the seasons but seasons 1 and 2 fail to download properly. If I manually grab them, how do I tell Medusa I have them, or will it scan my folders, find them and mark them as downloaded?
  13. Thanks but I asked about a CE5310 Atom processor, not sure why you provided a link to a D525 which is an altogether older processor?
  14. Does anyone know if this CPU Intel Atom CE5310 is 64bit or not? I googled and could not find an answer. Its regarding an Asustor NAS which I thought someone on here had installed unRAID 6x onto.
  15. Version I am ok with, its how to do the rollback I can't seem to find the info on.
  16. Something is definitely wrong, I assume in my settings somewhere. I have three shows in my schedule that aired at 10pm its now 11:45 and I can find all three shows listed in my NZB providers however Medusa is not downloading them her logs say: 2017-04-17 23:44:13 INFO SEARCHQUEUE-DAILY-SEARCH :: [a011615] Beginning daily search for new episodes2017-04-17 23:44:16 INFO SEARCHQUEUE-DAILY-SEARCH :: [a011615] Using daily search providers2017-04-17 23:44:16 INFO SEARCHQUEUE-DAILY-SEARCH :: [a011615] Using daily search providers2017-04-17 23:44:18 INFO SEARCHQUEUE-DAILY-SEARCH :: [a011615] No needed episodes found So for some reason she is saying No needed episodes found which is false. A quick check of each of these three shows and their status has been changed to 'skipped' instead of 'wanted' I don't know which setting is changing them to skipped.
  17. Thanks, I still can't figure out how to rollback though.
  18. Yes and I get conflicting info under general settings its says version 3.2.1 and under the server tab it says Version 1.5.5.3634
  19. OK now I am even more confused, I can't find what version of plex I am running. How do I do that?
  20. I have noticed another problem. I have a few shows that air tonight say at 9pm and they are in the queue, I see in the logs at 9:57 that for some reason Medusa sets their status to 'skipped' any idea why its doing this? I've also noticed that more often then not, an hour or more after a show has aired, I still have to go in an do an auto search on the episode in the schedule to get it to be downloaded, it doesn't seem to be doing it automatically. 7-04-17 21:54:08 INFO POSTPROCESSOR :: [a011615] Feature 'postpone post-processing if no subtitle available' is enabled2017-04-17 21:54:10 INFO POSTPROCESSOR :: [a011615] PostProcessing Path: /downloads/completed2017-04-17 21:55:25 INFO DAILYSEARCHER :: [a011615] Setting status (Skipped) for show airing today: xxx.xxx.xxx- S01E06 - xxx.xxx2017-04-17 21:55:25 INFO DAILYSEARCHER :: [a011615] Setting status (Skipped) for show airing today: xxx - S01E11 -xxx2017-04-17 21:55:25 INFO DAILYSEARCHER :: [a011615] Setting status (Skipped) for show airing today: xxx - S06E22 - xxx
