  1. This is my exact use case - password generated via generator with symbols. What Tom found is that a ? character in certain positions will not be recognized by the WebGUI login. Fix is to login via Telnet / SSH as root, change password via passwd to something without the offending characters, log into WebGUI using the new password, change password for root again via WebGUI - that will get things sync'd on the flash drive.
  2. Thanks @Frank1940 - the odd thing is I did change my password via WebGUI to begin with ... and now it won't let me log in with new or old password. The new password will work when I connect via SSH. If I delete passwd and shadow files will that reset all of my user passwords as well?
  3. Bumping this up ... anyone else have suggestions / ideas? My research indicates unRAID will not like a passwd change from the command prompt.
  4. Not to derail ... but why are you worried about cold? Computers love cold only concern is rapid temperature changes and introduction of moisture (condensation).
  5. I have tried a new browser and I have tried clearing cache, no luck. Other thoughts? Can I change the password (again) via SSH / Telnet?
  6. Hi all, Just updated my root password (via web UI) and now it won't log me back in via the web ui. Logging in with the new password via SSH works fine. Thoughts?
  7. I'll throw my hat in on this one as well. I would be ok with whole disk or per share (ultimately would encrypt all shares). Something along the lines of FileVault or Bitlocker where you authenticate on boot (GUI or console or both?) and then the data is available. On power off the data is encrypted so on the off chance someone tries to make off with my drives the data is useless.
  8. Will be curious to hear how you guys find Duplicati + ACD; I tried a couple of months back and could not break the 1TB barrier without Duplicati crashing.
  9. FYI - my container had been crashing every minute or so. I bumped the memory up per http://support.code42.com/CrashPlan/4/Troubleshooting/Code42_App_Does_Not_Run/Code42_App_Does_Not_Run_On_64-Bit_System#Step_4:_Update_CrashPlan_memory_settings and it works again. I thought I was away from CrashPlan's memory issues with this docker, alas I am not.
  10. +1 I'm running a Liebert GXT2U and actually looking at forking @Ambrotos's fork of @macester's plugin to get the MIB included for my UPS. NUT is far more flexible than apcupsd.
  11. @Ambrotos I notice that you have forked this on GitHub (https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Ambrotos/plugins/master/nut/nut.plg) and added the SNMP driver to the code. Are you successfully running this on recent version(s) of unRAID? Are you maintaining?
  12. No dice on poweroff either - it was "running" for about 30 minutes.
  13. So far as I can tell, nothing has changed. The only thing that may have changed (without my intervention) is a hardware failure (no previous indications) or a Docker update.
  14. I did, but things have been running fine since the upgrade until today. I have been running 6.3.2 since February 22.
  15. In order to get to SAFE mode and / or run Fix Common Problems (which I already have installed and was not reporting issues previously), how do I reboot the server? It is not responding to powerdown from the terminal.
  16. I have not experienced this issue with unRAID before; in fact, I have not experienced any show stopping issues like this. I am not aware of anything that has changed between yesterday and today - I did not change any config, hardware, etc.
  17. Similar to other threads, I am experiencing an issue where the Web GUI and shares are not accessible. I opened up the console and notice that a shfs process is pegging the cpu at 100%. I tried to run "diagnostics" and it will not complete (remains on "starting ..."), I tried to kill the PID for the shfs process and it does not respond (hangs the console), and I tried "powerdown" which also hangs on the initial shutdown warning. System is an AMD X4 CPU @ 2.8 GHz with 16 GB RAM. Using a Dell PERC H310 RAID controller with eight drives attached (1 parity + 7 data) in IT mode. I have not had any issues with unRAID previously and nothing that I can think of has changed to cause this issue. Running unRAID 6.3.2. Any suggestions on how to proceed?
  18. Throwing my hat in the ring. I woke up to the same problem this morning. I've tried running "diagnostics" to no avail (won't complete), I have tried sending the kill signal to shfs and it won't respond, and I have tried "powerdown" which also will not complete. I have no access to SMB shares or the WebGUI, but I can access SSH. Any ideas on next steps?
  19. There are settings that the admin can set / change which prevent certain notification fields from being user-editable. Sounds like some of those fields are restricted from editing by admin (could be the default config).
  20. I am in the same boat. I just picked up a new, 1000ft spool of CAT6A by General Cable on eBay for roughly $150. Local companies wanted nearly $800 for the same spool and Amazon, etc. wanted about $200 for CAT6. Troll eBay a bit and see if you can find a good deal.
  21. Ack! $130.99 + $49.99 shipping in Canada.
