  1. Okay here is what I am working with I have 3 - 4tb wd red 2 - 4tb wd blacks 1 - 1tb samsung 860 evo ssd 1 - 960gb pny cs900 ssd 1 - 500gb wd blue ssd 4 - 128gb intel ssd 4 - 120gb pny ssd I have this all laying around and I am unable to fit it in my "main" server. Don't have any more room in the case. I currently have it in all in a server right now but just not happy with the performance... read/write (128MB) using the SSDs as a unraid setup. The server is. Motherboard - Supermicro - X8DTL CPU - 2 - Intel Xeons L5640 RAM - 96GB I have this server connected to a 10gb link and its not even coming close to using the full link. Any ideas on what I can do to make the performance better or connect it to my main server to make it run faster?
  2. Okay okay. I ran into that one. But in my defense I did say other server types in the initial post. 😂 A KVM won't work because some of the machines are VM based.
  3. That might work for unraid servers but not well for command lines.
  4. Sooooo I was wondering on what yaw use to mange multiple servers/VMs? Like I have a few Ubuntu Servers, CentOS servers and even a few Windows Server 2016 servers floating around. OH and cant forget about the half dozen RPIs around the house. It would be nice to have some sort of thing so it would be easy to flip between screens or something to update them.
  5. SOOOooooo.. Random but its working just fine now... IDK whats going on. I haven't changed anything. But I was doing some digging around and found this. This might help some people out. https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/f0a9ad80-d940-4483-818b-ec943f1dc420/network-discovery-not-working-after-win10-1709-update?forum=win10itpronetworking
  6. Go figure this. Tried the "net use * /delete" and it said "There are no entries in the list" Went and tried again. Clicked on the share and put in my user/pass and it popped up with the error. Then I went to the server via ip \\192.x.x.x and clicked on the share and put in my user/pass and it worked. Went back into CMD and this time did a "net use * /del" and it showed up with the connection and asked me "continuing will cancel the connections". I said yes. Went back to the server via \\tower and typed in user/pass and it popped up the error once again.... Sooooooo what else is there to test. I also went into Windows Credential Manager and there is nothing listed under the "Windows Credentials" portion. Also the username on the computer is NOT the same username that I am trying to login to the server and this issue only popped up since the latest windows update.
  7. This is a fully up to date windows 10 computer (Version 1809). (Edit): I am using Unraid Version 6.6.6 2018-12-01 I go to login on my share and type in my user/pass. Then it comes up and says "You might not have permission....."... I am able to log into the web gui just fine. I am able to go to non protected shares just fine. The only FIX that works is rebooting the unraid server. But doing that constantly is a BIG annoyance. I had taken a look at https://forums.unraid.net/topic/77442-cannot-connect-to-unraid-shares-from-windows-10/ and tried what was said in the thread. Did not work for my situation. Any other ideas?
  8. Thank you. That seems to be what I am looking for.
  9. I've dug around in the community applications app and couldn't find what I was looking for. Is there any app or something that I can use to watch cpu usage.? Like if VM X is using cores 1-5 and VM Y is using the same cores it will show what VM is using what. Sorry if this is in the wrong area.
  10. I think what it is doing is reassigning the drive letter to a different drive due to it not being apart of the array as of yet. It just sees ex: sdj is now zero. anyways problem still comes up though I tried connecting the drives straight to the mobo instead of the raid card. and still had the same issues
  11. @John_M thank you for your help. I got the format issue solved with your answer. Problem still is I tried connecting the drives straight to the mobo instead of the raid card. and still had the same issues. What is the possibility that it is a power issue? Although something that is making me wonder is I keep having notifications saysing udma crc error count returned to normal value. No warnings saying they have gone out of normal value.
  12. A couple of my disk keep having high "UDMA CRC error count" but I do a smart error report and it says all is good. What might be the issue? Also my format button is greyed out. What might be the issue on that? Thank you for the help. 13. This has only happened twice that I've noticed. My whole server will freeze. I check the motherboard logs and it's empty. The only thing that is making me wonder is is it unraid that is freezing up or a VM that is locking up the whole system. All smart reports come back good and I have a daily report sent to my email keeping an eye on that. Has anyone had this issue? I am using 6.5.3 *Edit - ran a memtest and it came back with no errors.
  14. Is there like a server or something that I can run on a RPI (Raspberry Pi) that will ping a server every X minutes and if fails that it will send out an Email? I don't really want an external service.
  15. @GHunter thank you.. Clicking on it worked for me. I am trying to figure this out as well. The post that @GHunter linked to is not showing up. I am 6.5.2 I am not seeing the resize function in the gui

  18. I would say teamviewer but doesn't it get uploaded to their servers first then to you?
  19. Only 256GB but have the ability up to 2TB ECC 3DS LRDIMM or 1TB ECC RDIMM. But thats minor details.
  20. Any limit on a vdisk size is the size of the disk. But the Ubuntu template doesn't show vdisk size. Does that mean that it will grow with the VM?
  21. Well as far as the video side of things the Quadro P5000 seems to be the best as far as that list that you have me @uldise But what about AMD cards? @Squid Isn't the VM tied to a "limit" of HDD space or is it "flexable" now being that I have to move away from a docker?
  22. Is SSH installed on the Ubuntu server? https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SSH/OpenSSH/Configuring
