  1. ah I was just able to get into unmenu by using the command /boot/unmenu/uu and then accessing thru chrome using the :8080. However unraid main webgui still not loading and unmenu gives me not much to go on. However i did get the syslog which is attached. is this showing a healthy rebuild process? I cannot interpret. syslog-2016-07-04.txt
  2. edit: after over 2 hours, drive activity suddenly went quiet for a moment and now the webgui is responsive and shows a ongoing data rebuild @ ~150mb/sec. Most unusual. Hi All, Running unraid server plus, 5.0.5. I have 4 drives, and just this morning I have tried to replace a 2TB drive (is healthy, just full) with a new 8TB drive. I did a full preclear on the 8TB, and did a parity check, server was working fine. Powered down, swapped out the 2TB with the 8TB, powered up, reassigned the 8TB in the slot where the removed drive was and went for a rebuild + start. unraid web management util said all was well, but now I cannot access the web management util or unmenu. Times out and gives me a connection error. I can hear much drive activity in the physical server, so something is going on, I am just concerned about he inaccessibility of the web management util to get progress etc. I have putty so can telnet in, but I am not experienced with command lines so not keen to have a play without some guidance. Is it normal for the web management to be inaccessible during a drive replacement/rebuild, and if not (or even if so) is there some commands thru telnet i can run to get progress or check out the issue? I am intending to upgrade to v6 after this drive was built. Thanks so much for any help
  3. Thought I'd just reply to this to help anyone out in the future. I have a HTPC running 24/7 and unraid 5 running on a HP N54L. I have a powershield (australian brand) UPS that doesn't use the APC communication methodology. Seems to be compatible with NUT, but no easy way to run that on unraid 5 by the look - or V6 yet either. So I followed CHBMB's directions, and works successfully with unraid V5. I had to use a different plink command link, and had to install SSH and SSL package on unraid (and then establish user security). Using plink with the telnet connection didn't seem to send the correct command. Somethng about the commands in the telnet shell using plink aren't sent correctly? so my plink command was as follows: C:\Windows\System32\plink.exe -ssh root_user@IP_OF_SERVER -pw userpassword -m C:\PATH\UPS_Shutdown.sh and it worked perfectly. in my case, the UPS management software is Netguard (looks like an UPSilion 2000 copy/rebrand)
  4. Hi all, just trying to get unraid set up on my N54L. disclaimer - i am a linux/unraid total rookie, but have been going along just fine through guides and this forum up till now. I have 2 x 2TB HDDs (seagate NAS drive and seagate barracuda) , both brand new and unused, in my n54. i have got unraid latest 5.x build, and unmenu and the preclear script. the NAS drive precleared just fine - in 20 odd hours. the barracuda i am having troubles with. the pre-read goes fine @ 150-200 MB/s. when it gets to step 2 - copying zeros - the speed drops down to 4.7 MB/s and it is going to take many many days to complete at this rate. and anyway, i fear there is a problem. p.s. i have tried the preclear 3 times now - stopped it at 20 odd % using ctrl-c and rebooted server from GUI each time. I have modded the n54l BIOS following the many guides available, and also checked several times the drive is not using IDE or ide emulation or whatever (to the best of my knowledge). can anyone offer any suggestions as to what i might try next? I have searched extensively and tried a couple things (only info really was around IDE drives, and mine appears to be ok in that area). I got onto mymain on unmenu, and dumped the system logs for the drives it gives you, and they are attached. perhaps if you need anymore info please let me know and how to get it also i have another niggling issue - unmenu access (//tower:8080) is really hit and miss. i have put the script for start into the boot file following the wiki, and i have tried killing the gui from the console and going at it again (I havent rebooted system as i wanted to preserve syslogs for the preclear problem). typically after i kill the gui using the command from the wikii can get into unmenu and go to maybe...4 or 5 screens? then it reverts to giving me the location unavailable message in the browser. throughout all this, normal tower gui works just fine, never had an issue there. any ideas>? thanks guys, really apprecaite the support and information available so far! dave smart_log_for_drive_txt.txt syslog_for_drive_txt.txt
