  1. Well.... I've skipped reboot after some update of the lastest. now when I finally did a reboot (because of some auto-start/ mods to pci-e pass) I got stuck.... and if I wouldn't have found this thread and the recommendation of: Try http://192.168.1.223/login in your browser's private/incognito mode. I would have lost the rest of my sanity. Thanks. P.s - this should go to release/ update notes
  2. +1 to this request. pure curiosity. Tried myself didn't manage yet. Anyone successful, yet?
  3. Hi, I've one docker container that somehow often fails to restart after e.g. stop for backup. However, if manually initiated it, it works. Always. I tried checking logs etc but couldn't find a solution. Then I remembered that User Scripts is able to use "restart" command to start a docker container and I could configure it to run every now and then. However, I don't want it to restart if the status is already running. How can I add something like "if status = active, idle, else star/restart dockercontainer. Can someone please help me to find those commands if possible or point me to script documentation? Or do I need to look at docker commands? Ofc. I tried searching the forums beforehand but couldn't find a solution or similar case yet. If I missed it, feel free to point me to it. Thanks

  5. rewatched: Solution was in my stupidiy. I installed W10 with UEFI and that's incompatible with SeaBIOS. ❤️ Spaceinvader, again... min 13:09
  6. edit: after neither helped, i started from scratch. attached the drives using /dev/disk/by-id/ method also set them there to be SATA mode checked boot mode and again, nothing... error on screen is the same logs and xml reattached. am I to blind to see something or did it get even more complicated since 2018... 8. Dear follower unRaiders looking for someone who can help me figure out what to do/ what to choose. my old system is due for requirement. Some components like the GTX 970 sadly produce more and more errors and will only be used for folding or such in future. As for usage: 2 VMs - Windows / Ubuntu with mostly the Windows being active -- the Windows VM should receive the 2080 + m2 as passthrough for best performance (Gaming /VR) Dockers - Plex, Coachpotate and Co, Nextcloud and some more special like Jira / Confluence server Raid itself will remain with 4x Seagte Archive 10 TB + 2x 512 Corsair SSD Cache System should be ready for future with possibility to expend both on Disks but also VMs/ Docker. My concerns are mostly regarding current passthrough options / limitations and therefore maybe alternative Mainboards, CPU or GPU could be needed. Gracious for any comment you are willing to share. Cheers, Matt
  9. thank you so much! I thought with multiple dockers (jira + jira service desk) using the same port, I would need to go thru the external port. boy was I wrong. such a simple solution. thanks again!
  10. @Gobs please try/ check the following things (helped me) is plex also changed to be in the proxynet network? is the docker container of plex really called "plex" or maybe changed? is your firewall configured to allow the port to be accessed from external? (check with sites like "is my port open") check if logged in to duckdns if your external ip is correctly upgraded
  11. I've changed the default port to 8020 (sorry should have noted it) - full configuration attached. Proxynet beeing the letsencrypt network. As per spaceinvador1 guide. In Jira I've adjusted the base url to match the config. Previously I got it working using the jwilder letsencrypt nginx proxy. however with that I couldn't get nextcloud to work which is a higher priority to me. thanks.
  12. hello, I've setup letsencrypt with subdomain for nextcloud successfull, however I don't get how to set it up for not included applications. e.g. I would like to host my own Jira (Atlassian) instance for myself. This is what I did: server { listen 443 ssl; server_name jira.*; include /config/nginx/ssl.conf; client_max_body_size 0; # enable for ldap auth, fill in ldap details in ldap.conf #include /config/nginx/ldap.conf; location / { # enable the next two lines for http auth #auth_basic "Restricted"; #auth_basic_user_file /config/nginx/.htpasswd; # enable the next two lines for ldap auth #auth_request /auth; #error_page 401 =200 /login; include /config/nginx/proxy.conf; resolver 127.0.0.11 valid=30s; set $upstream_jira jira; proxy_pass http://$upstream_jira:8020; } } However when accessing it I get an 502 error. However the certificates are created so I'm sure it's liked to the subdomain file. Maybe someone can help me figure it out. Thanks, Matt
  13. solved .... I tried to access the WebUI using a VM that had it's NIC set to Virt0 not Eth0. Adjusted it and now it's accessible.
  14. looks like your eth0 is not set to bridge. there is a comment about that from page 1 or 2.
  15. tried to setup as in Video and comments - still can't access the WebUI (ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT). log looks okay to me. config as default as possible - only as main dns 1.1.1. (cloudflare) and timezone changed to Berlin for close match. tried with unraid OS 6.4. / 6.5.1 rc6 + 6.5.1 and blank / new docker image. with same results. eth0 is set to bridge (br0) and used in config unraidIP = 192.168.178.99 br0 of pihole as well as variable in config is set to = 192.168.178.2 any hint / comment will be highly appreciated. 16. after spending another few hours I managed to get it to run - however when using "exposedbydefault = false" and in the responding docker containers the variables: traefik.frontend.rule traefik.backend traefik.enable traefik.port no container can be viewed. any hints? I think the issue that I'm supposed to set the traefik container as well as the other responding docker containers on to the same network - could this be the issue? anyways when using "bridge" mode I would assume they are already on the same network so there shouldn't be the need for it. there is a blog post available by Linuxserver.io at: https://www.linuxserver.io/2018/02/03/using-traefik-as-a-reverse-proxy-with-docker/ following that my certificates are generated. however using the exposedbydefault flag I still can't manage to view the assigned docker apps. and with it set to true I receive 404 on all pages. anyone figured it out how to set it correctly?

    Ryzen 7 Build

Dear all, I'm building a new Ryzen 7 based build together with a friend for his dad. The budget is up to 3k and it should be "future-proof / expandable". Main use will be vm images For Video Editing mostly cutting + encoding and little gaming with GPU passthrough For Remote Access / Working and few dockers like: Plex some Cloud (nextcloud most likely) syncthing guacamole for remote access maybe a few more as well as some long term storage 2x 8TB Array = ~ 16 TB Share 1x 8TB Parity 2x 480 GB SSD for Cache Pool = ~480 GB SSD Share Components: (quantity 0 = optional or not yet decided) 0 LC-Power LC-ADA-525-3x35-SWAP 3 Seagate Archive HDD v2 8TB, SATA 6Gb/s (ST8000AS0002) 2 Intel SSD DC S3520 480GB, 2.5", SATA (SSDSC2BB480G701) 0 DeLOCK Flexi SATA 6Gb/s cable black 30cm, straight/straight (83840) 1 AMD Ryzen 7 1700X, 8x 3.40GHz, boxed without cooler (YD170XBCAEWOF) 2 G.Skill RipJaws V black DIMM kit 32GB, DDR4-3200, CL16-18-18-38 (F4-3200C16D-32GVK) 1 Palit GeForce GTX 1050 Ti StormX, 4GB GDDR5, DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort (NE5105T018G1F) 0 MSI GeForce GT 730 (GK208), N730K-2GD3H/LP, 2GB DDR3, VGA, DVI, HDMI (V809-001R) 0 Sapphire Radeon HD 6450, 2GB DDR3, VGA, DVI, HDMI, lite retail (11190-09-20G) 1 Sapphire Radeon R5 230, 2GB DDR3, VGA, DVI, HDMI, lite retail (11233-02-20G) 1 ASUS Prime X370-Pro (90MB0TD0-M0EAY0) 0 be quiet! Dark Power Pro 11 850W ATX 2.4 (BN253) overall current sum: 2630 Euros. Not including a USB Stick + unRaid license. open questions/ concerns I would as specially welcome your comments 1700 or 1700x High-Speed-Ram or ECC did I miss something? PSU is 850 not 750 because of expected to be extend array i know those questions are a bit like north and south pole - there are thinks that speak for both while the price is just a minor difference (not counting the increased power consumption) thanks and all the best, Matt
  19. hello tdallen - thanks for your response. as for the links - I've updated to englisch version now. What do you mean with the 12v rails? how does it affect unRaid? Can you give me some more details or point me to some specific threat? Thanks
  20. Hello, together with a friend I'm planning a new unRaid server for multi-purpose. What is your budget? 3000 Euro +/- 10% How many drives do you want your server to be able to support and how much capacity do you need? 5 HDD Drives (8 TB) 1 Parity 3 Array 1 Unassigned - Total Storage 24 TB + 8 TB (as unassigned for dedicated backup) 1 HDD Drives (8 TB) Spare 2 SSD Drives (~500GB) for Cache total of 500 GB Cache/ SSD Is expandability important to you? If so, what's your long term goal? Definitely. Increase of both Array as well as adding an second parity drive. RAM already increased from 32 to 64 since price difference is minor. Are you interested in running any unRAID Add Ons (see here)? If so, which ones? Be specific. Docker: plex Media Server, tonido, openVPN, nginx proxy+letsencrypt, guacamole, crashPlan VMs: Windows 10 (Video Editing); ZorinO (or some other distro, mostly for management of unRaid server) Plugins: Speedtest, NerdTools, Community Applications, Unassigned Devices, FileBot Do you want to run green/low power drives or faster 7200 rpm drives? If you don't have a specific need for 7200 rpm drives, then choose green drives. Seagate Archive HDD v2 8TB, SATA 6Gb/s because of the good price/value. Do you have any spare parts laying around that you would like to apply towards your build? This includes drives. No. 100% New. Also no Pre-Used-Parts and no Ebay-Stuff. Tower mounted. If you already have parts in mind, please oh pretty please post links to them so that we don't have to look them up. Not happy with CPU/ Mainboard, no need for "X" or "Gaming". But P/L and SATA. Still not sure if AMD or Intel Xeon. Very open for suggestions. No GPU jet included. PSU might be to small. 10G big plus not yet decided. 1 LC-Power LC-ADA-525-3x35-SWAP 6 Seagate Archive HDD v2 8TB, SATA 6Gb/s (ST8000AS0002) 2 Micron M500 SSD 480GB, SATA (MTFDDAK480MAV) 1 AMD Ryzen 7 1700X, 8x 3.40GHz, boxed without cooler (YD170XBCAEWOF) 1 G.Skill Trident Z silver/black DIMM kit 64GB, DDR4-3200, CL16-18-18-38 (F4-3200C16Q-64GTZSK) 1 MSI B350 Gaming Pro carbon (7B00-001R) 1 be quiet! Pure Rock (BK009) 1 be quiet! Dark Base 900 black, noise-insulated (BG011) 1 be quiet! Dark Power Pro 11 650W ATX 2.4 (BN251) looking forward for any recommendations. Thank you, Matt
  21. hi - thanks already for your feedback. Last night I did some more research about ClearOS and their already pre-configured hardware solutions. I requested an offer since both price and options sound suitable. Still considering unRAID as backup and maybe also as test station for new installations / vms since license is much cheaper than MS related stuff.
  22. Hi Fireball3, I thought so myself and considered a share pool of ssds and a few faster disks should be enough to handle our load. at least that's my thought performance in the sense of a) application server's installed are bringing CPU and RAM to 80% of it's total already resulting in unhappy users b) poor read/ write speeds on the user shares not exactly performance but directly related c) limited storage space d) limited options in backup and backup restore (currently on 7x 500gb rdx tape) that's been rewritten every 7 days (and if the guy, now me - forgets to replace the tapes or is out of office) there is no backup at all from previous days
  23. Hi Guys, first things first - I've been using unRaid (6) for a few years already -privately. Just for some docker's and testing VMs before I did some installations at work. - And I'm loving it! Now I've got a new position in a new company and besides many other things the hardware situation is also one of my responsibilities. At the moment we are using a 4+ year old server that runs on Windows Server 2008 r2 and is used for: User Shares exchange antivirus endpoint manager and few more things - wampserver etc that server runs a Intel Xeon Processor E5649 and 30 gigs of ram with a HP Smart Array P410i using 4x 300 GB SAS Disks (Raid1+0) and it's been accessed by 20 users 24/5 and another 40 users on part-time base. We are currently lacking performance and also storage space, also I would like to separate parts of the server in different VMs- and that's when I started to consider to go with unRaid. I don't consider myself a sys-admin and therefore spend a lot of my spare time for research and private try and test. Since our budged doesn't allow outsourcing and is always short I was hoping to get some recommendations or at least "look for ..." from you guys. So far I know that I'd like to go with 2 dedicated/ physical machines -one for production one for backup purpose. From hardware space our requirements are minor (like 10 TB would be enough for next 5 years I'd say) As for CPU and RAM requirements I don't know how to scale accordingly. Also rack-mountable is a must-have and I'd like to go with redundant power-supply. looking forward for your recommendations and tips. also please be nice to me - it's quite some challenge :-) Thank you and best regards, Matt
