Unraid keeps locking up and becoming unresponsive
mattcoughlin replied to mattcoughlin's topic in General Support
I had an issue with the motherboard and had to RMA it but that seems to have solve the problem. The ram came back fine in the memtest but i'm trying 1 stick at a time at the moment. The only other hardware would the the CPU. I guess that will be my next route to check if the ram doesn't solve the problem. -
Unraid keeps locking up and becoming unresponsive

I tried that. I tried 1 ram stick, all 3 other ram sticks individually, as well as pair of them. The problem is i have replaced all the hardware after this started happening. All new intel 13th gen. I've even tried going back to the old hardware (6800k) and still no luck. I replaced the HBA, the cables, moved everything to a new larger rack mount enclosure, new power supply, new NVME cache drives, removed the Nvidia GPU from the system as well as the SFP+ network card, and a new unraid USB stick. The only thing i haven't tried replacing is the hard drives and the fact that it's unraid although i did reinstall unraid fresh. As of yesterday i took the parity drives out (didn't format them, just removed them) and the system has been running the longest so far (19 hours) without crashing. The problem is i can't make any changes or my parity will be invalid. I'm actually not even sure it is still valid since the system could have made a change to something without my realizing it. All my critical data is backed up to other locations so its just movies, music, and tv shows here that i could loose. I'm currently trying to transfer the bulk of the data off the server onto new drives so i can try more aggressive tactics and don't have to worry about losing 100+TB of data. -

it still locked up in safe mode. Here is the diagnostic file after the array locked up. unraid-diagnostics-20230916-0942.zip -

So my unraid system keeps locking up. Under normal use it will work for a while then all the drives, even the device list goes blank and the system won't shutdown. So the next time it boots up it runs a parity check, which locks up. The point where it locks up keeps going down. I have upgraded/replaced ALL the hardware in my system including moving it over to a new chassis, a new HBA, a new USB drive, new NVME cashe drives and the problem persists. I have even formatted my unraid OS back to the stock OS keeping only the array drives/parity and I still cannot get it to quit. I can't complete a long health test on the drives before it locks up. I'm at a loss at this point. The only thing i can think to do is transfer the data from the drives to new drives a few at a time, do a health check, and stress test the old drives to see if something is wrong. But that is a F-ton of work. I would really appreciate some help. 20230915_195433.mp4 unraid-diagnostics-20230915-2015.zip

I'm moving my server onto new hardware. I'm going from a 6800k to a 13900k and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get it to boot. Everytime it goes back to the bios. I've tried changing everything I can find that's on the suggested list except changing to legacy usb as I cannot find that and disabling secure boot since I cannot find that either. This isn't my first move and the last one was super easy. Help!

I understand that considering the unclean shutdown. The part that i don't understand is why the system completely locked up. No gui access, even with a keyboard and monitor attached directly with commands i couldn't get it to shut down. I am also getting videos freezing in plex and my dockers occasionally all shutting down. There is clearly some kind of underlying issue causing all this to happen.

so my quarterly parity check came back with it's first error. I am also having a problem with plex video freezing from time to time, the docker occasionally crashes, and i can't connect to the nvidia builds to install. anyone have any ideas? unraid-diagnostics-20200417-2319.zip

[Plugin] Linuxserver.io - Unraid Nvidia
mattcoughlin replied to linuxserver.io's topic in Plugin Support
I'm having a problem loading the builds to install. The last version i was able to install was 6.8.0. I tried to update to 6.8.2 about 2 weeks ago but it won't even find the builds. It just hangs on the screen that says updating available builds. -
Can Mover start/stop a docker container before it gets invoked?
mattcoughlin replied to bobokun's topic in General Support
I'm trying to use it with SABnzbd. When there are many files downloading my mover basically runs 24/7 as my download speed is about as fast as the mover. -

So i am also trying to create a script that involves the mover, but can't get that part to work. what is the line in your script the gets the mover to go exactly? -
Is there any way to do this? I had radarr upgrade my library and now its downloading multiple terabytes of data and the problem i'm having is that the download speed is almost as fast, sometimes faster, than the mover. So the mover is still running 12+ hours later. Is there a way to do this without completely stopping sabnzbd so the upacker can still finish as well as other programs adding things to the que.

[Plugin] Linuxserver.io - Unraid Nvidia
mattcoughlin replied to linuxserver.io's topic in Plugin Support
I recently installed this "plugin". Now 6.7 official is out. I tried searching it but couldn't find it. How do i upgrade the unraid OS in the future? I assume through the plugin, but 6.7 isn't available. If that's the case is there a turn around time typically for updates? -
Is there anyone who could take a look at this now that the holidays are over. I'm still at a loss.

Anyone have any ideas? I still can't find the error. Not that I'm very great at it.

I am completely new when it comes to linux. I am really just trying to take advantage of my no longer used GTX1070 with plex hardware transcoding running in an Ubuntu VM. The problem i am having is adding folder to the plex library which are located in my plex media share on unraid. I've tried seaching the web but everything seems a bit over my head since i know almost nothing about linux. I would really appreciate any help you guys could give me.

Slow transfer speeds over 10Gb network to an NVME drive

So now it has quit saturating my network. I have changed nothing... -
Slow transfer speeds over 10Gb network to an NVME drive
mattcoughlin replied to mattcoughlin's topic in General Support
They should be more than fast enough. I had 3 850 evos for cache that gave me around 700 MB/s transfer speed. I assume you have jumbo files enabled on both as well as the switch. -
Slow transfer speeds over 10Gb network to an NVME drive
mattcoughlin replied to mattcoughlin's topic in General Support
Changing the docker apps to mnt/cache/appdata fixed my docker issue. Thanks for the tip Greg. I am also now getting up to 1.15 GB/s transfer speed!!!! What type of drive are you writing too/from Greg? anything but a multidrive ssd raid or a very high speed NVME drive will be the bottleneck over a 10gbe network. -

Ok. Has anyone ever tried reformatting the unraid USB Boot drive and readding the data drives? I have had a few random issues with things like windows 10 vms not booting or crashplan (when i used to have it) getting into a reboot cycle every 15 minutes. My thought is to just start the drive fresh if i can reassign the drives without loosing data.
