  1. hi. yes, all working through some trial and error!
  2. Thanks for helping. Cable comes this evening, I will try again and post back. How do I check to see that power isn't a contributing factor?
  3. Hi all, I've just returned from holiday and noted server was off, likely due to a power cut. I switched the server back on and drive 1 of 8 (only drive being filled atm) has a red cross - emulated but disabled. Smart report showed UDMA CRC error counts – I noted this 2–3 months ago, e.g count of 16, now 1000ish. ?dodgy mini-sas cable? (edited) I've done another quick smart check - "Completed without error" and done a read check I've put the server into maintenance mode (xfs array) and did a check on the affected drive with "-n" flag, I then removed "-n" and re-ran it to repair. No obvious errors shown. I then unassigned the drive, started server, then stopped, re-assigned the drive from drop down and restarted server. It ran a parity and then threw out read errors / udma crc errors etc - and still shows as emulated 1) I've ordered new mini sas 8087 cables for hba (replace cheap cables that came with it). Other than this, is there anything else i should be doing / should have done?? 2) Do I repeat the above steps after changing the cables? 4. Hi all, I just got my dockers up and running and wanted to setup wireguard for remote access of arrs etc. My dockers are running on a custom network as per advice from Ibracorp videos. I have following the following guide to et wireguard running: I have set up the following but still am not able to connect via android mobile - see remarks in screenshots below accessing via http://tower.local/Main 1. Enabled upnp on both unraid management access / router + switched off router firewall (router is using 1.1.1.1 DNS) 2. Enabled bridging (Network settings) 3. Enabled `Host access to custom networks:` (Docker settings) 4. Routed default local tunnel network pool through IP address of unraid on router 5. Disabled `use nat` 6. Configured duckdns for ddns local endpoint (docker installed and working) Any ideas would be much appreciated!! Here is the routed IP address: Here is the tunnel config: NOTE: all addresses bar ddns autopopulated Docker settings:
  5. Hi guys, Soooo I have a tincy wincy 12TB unraid server and will be buying another licence for a 76TB build. Both will be connected to the same network, however, I would like advice on the best method of moving files across from the 12TBs to the new 76TB build. Bearing in mind that the new drives are 8tb archive drives with low buffer limits, I was advised to use teracopy and use a windows machine to drag stuff over Anyone add a suggestion?
  6. I am also looking for something like this
  7. Hi guys, I was wondering if someone could help me set this up so i can FTP files from remote server to my unraid. How do I access a remote server through the filezilla webui? Thanks
  8. Hi guys, I have had this issue happen to me 3-4 times. I use docker with several applications (plex/nzbdrone/couch potato/nzbget) and have allocated 10gb for the docker image. What happens is that the docker apps stops working, in an attempt to restart them, clicking "stop" next to the app on the docker page will stop the application but then it will not allow you to click "start" again as it hangs on "stop". The only way to resolve this issue is to stop and then restart the docker. The docker image and all related data is on my cache SSD disk (btrfs) Unraid 6.0-beta12
  9. thanks for the suggestion, I will give it a shot
  10. Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone could kindly help. I have a nifty little set-up, thanks to users on the forum where a script running as a cronjob grabs folders from a remote server (lftp) on to the cache drive on my nas, Couchpotato then moves these folders to a share (disk1,2,3, etc). Occasionally, for some reason or another, CP fails to move the odd folder and its content, and the reason is, it requires "permission from root" (get this message when trying to edit/delete file manually from explorer). While other folders have moved no problem and are under the user "nobody" (My unraid only has root user). I have made sure permissions are 755, but even then I cannot edit the file name or delete in windows explorer. Any ideas why this might be happening and how I can fix it ? My script includes changing permissions to 755 lftp <<EOF set ftp:ssl-auth TLS set ftp:ssl-force true set ftp:ssl-protect-list yes set ftp:ssl-protect-data yes set ssl:verify-certificate off open -u $login,$pass $host chmod -R 755 ~/home/seeduser/downloads/sync mirror -c --use-pget-n=20 --Remove-source-files --log=/var/log/synctorrents_movies.log /home/seeduser/downloads/sync /mnt/user/downloads/complete/movies quit 0 EOF
  11. And rebooted afterwards? It shouldn't be necessary, but I'm seeing more and more things under unraid that need a reboot after updating a setting? wohooo genius!! I noticed the split options have changed, I had it like this before mnt/bluray/moviename/moviefile and the .../moviename folder along with its contents were spread across the disks.....which option do i need to pick?
  12. yep, at the moment, no shares show under shares tab, and in windows it shows the seperate disks ... "disk 1" "disk 2" etc.....before I had disabled these and had shares for my backed up movies bluray Foreign Series the above folders with their contents still show across all 4 disks
  13. you are right!, it shows as basic ..bahh! Forgot all about the keyfile....better check my email attachments EDIT: right it works!, but it hasn't recognised my shares....is there a way of doing this?
  14. thanks for reply. My problem is that the array does not start. When i click start, the screen blinks and the status shows as "Stopped. Initial configuration" Note I do not have a parity drive, never did and all was fine before.
  15. Hi guys, it's been a while. So couple of months ago, I spent a week getting the server set up with some help from forum members and left it perfectly working. Today I needed to edit a .sh file on the flash drive, but it was in use by another application on the server, so I took the server offline and bought the USB up to my PC to edit the file. I then decided it might be a good idea to update from beta 9 to 12, note my array drives are formated in XFS and x2 cache btrfs. I booted the server and reallocated the array and cache drives. The 2 cache drives show a green light next to it, but the array drives are blue (new device not in array). I attempted to start the array but get a "Stopped. Initial configuration" on the left hand side. any ideas? I hope to god i dont have to reformat all the arrays again...too much information on them.
  16. I for one think that the IRC channel is a godsend. It saved me having to type out 10-20 posts on the forum and help get me set up in a day...dockers and all!
  17. EDIT anyone mind helping me get this cronjob running?
  18. Thank you for taking the time to reply. I was shown this nice picture: http://stephenkjones.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/split-level-visual.png Explains that I simply need Split level 1
  19. Hi guys, Newbie here. I have read the wiki articles and blogs and just wanted to make sure everything was ok from my end. Setup 4x3TB non parity array + 60gb SSD cache for plex files and plugins/dockers I would like unraid to follow the following structure Movies > "Movie folder" > "file" * TV > "TV Series folder" > "files" The "movie folder" may contain nfo and ?metadata for plex, (or is all plex data stored on cache? sorry never used plex before) I have created 2 Shares (2 top folders: Movies and TV), both high-water allocation settings, both using 60gb cache disk. I have left split level as 1. In windows, I see my disks (1-4), cache and "movies" (user share). Disk 1 has 2 folders called movies and TV, but the other disks don't. Do I need to add the folders myself, or will unraid do it when the first disk becomes half full (as per highwater allocation rules) See here :: Thanks EDIT - SmallwoodDR82 has answered my questions. Thanks
  20. Hi guys, so I have just done 1 pre-clear cycle on 4 3tb drives...took >24hrs The report initially looks ok, but I see quite a few "near threshold" and was wondering if anyone could shed light on this? thanks
  21. Thanks for your efforts. Any chance that you could do PMS (non plexpass) container or are the licenced/free version the same? KR K
  22. Thanks for all your effort dude, I will be sure to donate when I get my box up and configured. Quick question, if i want to run these plugins on my cache ssd and not the flash, do I simply just create folders on the cache i.e config/plugins and place the plg in there?
  23. Legends! I have been searching for WEEKS for something like this! Great work @drnackers @pyrater! I am currently pre-clearing my drives, and once it is done I will give this script a shot...Just need to read up a little on this stuff as I am fairly new to linux. I know that I have to use notepad++ to compile/edit the script, any other tips? Few questions @drnackers @pyrater + anyone else who will kindly help 1) I would like to install the lftp to my ssd cache drive and not the flash (boot), Do I just need to create the "custom" folder on the ssd and put the files in there? 2) With Rar'd downloads - If I use the "unpack" feature on rutorrent (remotely), and set the unpack folder to "the torrents current dir" .....won't i get a hardlink containing BOTH the rar;d and unrar;d content in the sync folder which will be sent over to my NAS (double the data)? Is there a way around this? 3) Because the hardlink is still present on the seedbox, wont it re-download it on its next cycle as the movie on local nas would have moved from its processing folder to my Movies share? Is there a way of removing source files? tl;dr - is there a way of deleting source files after downloading using lftp to prevent it from redownloading? Many thanks!
