  1. On your psu, I have a corsair RM450 that runs my system. It has a feature where the fan won't spin up when power usage is under 40%. I have 11 3.5" drives it powers comfortably. I haven't heard my psu fan spin up and it sits next to my lounge tv. I have seen mini itx boards on these forums that take a passive cooled CPU as well. I think these are with an atom CPU. These might note be able to handle what your after. Maybe go for an i5 CPU. I hope this helps. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. There is a plugin called unbalance that helps you move data off one disk to another (assuming you have enough space free to accommodate the moved data) this then let's you clean off an old reiser format disks and convert them to XFS. Here's the unbalance plugin support page http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=45352.0 You might find this page info helpful http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=34776.0 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Just got this "notification" sent to my email; /etc/cron.daily/updateApplications.sh: line 2: /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/community.applications/scripts/updateApplications.php: No such file or directory with the subject line; cron for user root /usr/bin/run-parts /etc/cron.daily 1> /dev/null this is the first time this has happened. I had just updated to 2016-11-13 in the last 24 hours. i usually get updated by email about faults but not about application updates. any idea on what to do next. if you need any extra info (diagnostics) please let me know. EDIT: Just removed all CA plugins and reinstalled. im checking if this will fix it. will post back with a result soon.
  4. My system is very similar. It works great with up to 4 Plex streams. I have 9 dockers with a total of 6GB of ram. Check out my sig. I wish I had at least 8GB of ram though as my Plex just chews it up after about a month. (Might have an issue with some of my media files and Plex not letting go of ram properly) but that's my problem. Hope this helps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Not knowing for what purpose you want the VM for, it will be hard to say if that SSD will suit your needs. SLC, MLC or TLC probably won't make too much difference for your needs. Trim support is important as it will minimise your SSD filling up with files you think you have deleted. (It's like a garbage collection system for removing trashed files). 7. Also my server restarted by itself a few times at what seemed to be random times. It turned out to be my UPS resetting itself because the battery was overheating from being too old. If you have a UPS I'd check that too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I'm getting this too. PMS streaming to the plex app on an iPad over the local wifi also seams to buffer at about the 45 minute mark. I'm going to try restarting the plex docker later and see if that fix it. I haven't updated or made any changes since updating to v1. This has only started in the last 24hours or so. 9. 5 min was ridiculous, thats why i changed it. funny thing is that my unraid server is also listening to the conversations between a few of my other clients as well. their mac address pop up in the logs. these devices shouldn't be talking to the unraid server for dhcp leases, and the server shouldn't eaves drop on these conversations either. Also these notifications are happening every 15 min. even some 3 times a second. i realize they are harmless, but its going to eventually make my logs too big. also it will make it more difficult to find faults for other issues because of large logs. I hope this is fixable.
  10. I been getting a lot of dhcpcd[1438]: eth0: xid (0xSTRING) is for hwaddr in my logs I seemed to start getting it after i got my Mikrotik router. I had a Netcomm Router before that. I have since restarted my server and it seemed it was fixed. but after a while the dhcpcd lines came back I have tried to fix it by telling my Mikrotik Router to give longer DHCP leases. i had changed it from 5min to 1.5 days. I have attached my diagnostics for checking. thanks for helping tower-diagnostics-20160715-1511.zip

  12. That's not an ideal way to update apps within a container. Sooner or later doing this will break something. TBH a far better approach would be to migrate to a Plex version from another author. Linuxserver.io or Binhex would be the way to go here in my opinion. Is the limetech plex app not supported anymore? What's the exact reason for migrating to another author? 13. I just updated this docker to Plex 1.0 I just shut the App down and went into "edit" the docker and without changing any settings pressed the save button, and everything updates fine. For your info; I am not running a Plexpass version. so I can't say it will work in all circumstances. Hope this help guys.
  14. Just Had this happen to me aswell. After a month of happy use, the app would not respond. I had to restart it to get it up. I have included the tail of my jackett log. 2016-06-21 19:45:37.1285 Error Top level exception System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: Address already in use at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.Bind (System.Net.EndPoint local_end) <0x4207ae80 + 0x000ef> in <filename unknown>:0 at System.Net.EndPointListener..ctor (System.Net.IPAddress addr, Int32 port, Boolean secure) <0x42078380 + 0x00147> in <filename unknown>:0 at System.Net.EndPointManager.GetEPListener (System.String host, Int32 port, System.Net.HttpListener listener, Boolean secure) <0x42077ee0 + 0x002d3> in <filename unknown>:0 at System.Net.EndPointManager.AddPrefixInternal (System.String p, System.Net.HttpListener listener) <0x42076290 + 0x000c3> in <filename unknown>:0 at System.Net.EndPointManager.AddListener (System.Net.HttpListener listener) <0x42075da0 + 0x00147> in <filename unknown>:0 --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at System.Reflection.MonoMethod.Invoke (System.Object obj, BindingFlags invokeAttr, System.Reflection.Binder binder, System.Object[] parameters, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture) <0x2acdbb41b960 + 0x000ef> in <filename unknown>:0 at System.Reflection.MethodBase.Invoke (System.Object obj, System.Object[] parameters) <0x2acdbb253ec0 + 0x0002a> in <filename unknown>:0 at Microsoft.Owin.Hosting.ServerFactory.ServerFactoryAdapter.Create (IAppBuilder builder) <0x42072040 + 0x001f2> in <filename unknown>:0 at Microsoft.Owin.Hosting.Engine.HostingEngine.StartServer (Microsoft.Owin.Hosting.Engine.StartContext context) <0x42072000 + 0x00029> in <filename unknown>:0 at Microsoft.Owin.Hosting.Engine.HostingEngine.Start (Microsoft.Owin.Hosting.Engine.StartContext context) <0x42044310 + 0x0015b> in <filename unknown>:0 at Microsoft.Owin.Hosting.Starter.DirectHostingStarter.Start (Microsoft.Owin.Hosting.StartOptions options) <0x42043660 + 0x0005c> in <filename unknown>:0 at Microsoft.Owin.Hosting.Starter.HostingStarter.Start (Microsoft.Owin.Hosting.StartOptions options) <0x42042180 + 0x0007b> in <filename unknown>:0 at Microsoft.Owin.Hosting.WebApp.StartImplementation (IServiceProvider services, Microsoft.Owin.Hosting.StartOptions options) <0x42041b50 + 0x0005e> in <filename unknown>:0 at Microsoft.Owin.Hosting.WebApp.Start (Microsoft.Owin.Hosting.StartOptions options) <0x42040800 + 0x00027> in <filename unknown>:0 at Microsoft.Owin.Hosting.WebApp.Start[TStartup] (Microsoft.Owin.Hosting.StartOptions options) <0x42040710 + 0x00047> in <filename unknown>:0 at Jackett.Services.ServerService.Start () <0x4203fc50 + 0x0020b> in <filename unknown>:0 at JackettConsole.Program.Main (System.String[] args) <0x41f27d60 + 0x00e16> in <filename unknown>:0 I hope this helps in sorting the issue. 15. So after a month of my server sitting turned off waiting for the funds to replace disk1, I replaced it with a 3TB. The data rebuilt nicely. My server is up and running. While my server was off for the month, my UPS was still on as I had my gigabit switch still plugged in. During this time I noticed my UPS was feeling rather hot. Anyway one night when shutting down my laptop I heard my UPS switch off and a few seconds later switch on. So I have since got my UPS checked out and it turns out my battery has fried itself. I will be upgrading to Unraid6 and get the UPS communication sorted. Hopefully I will be able to catch this sort of problem in the future. Regards for the help I received. 16. Had a power outage over the weekend. thought i would do a uncorrecting parity check. got a hole heap of errors. (supplied latest syslog). The drive short smart test is supplied as well. I have no more sata ports available is this drive failing? can i safely pull the data off the array to start from scratch? Can i Upgrade to Unraid 6 with these problems? Also is Cache failing? Much appreciated for your replies. syslog-2016-03-29.zip smart_report_disk1_29-03-2016.txt smart_report_cache_29-03-2016.txt
  17. Those Machine Check Events have happened on and off for the last year. I think my machine might be crashing when my Plex cleans the media meta data up once a week (its stored on my cache). Also it might have crashed the next day because the mover started. (had some time to think it through) Finally got some time up my sleeve. I'm going to give it a clean. I'll check all my sata cables while I'm at it. Going to check if Mover got interrupted and fix the move if need be. my cache drive is starting to make noise when i turn the server on. It is getting old now (4 years 9 months). I am heading to unraid 6 and get me some SSD's for my cache. Minimize some HDD thrashing. I hope that will fix it. Thanks Squid for showing me where to find the MCE log. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it. I'll let you know how the upgrade/fix goes over the next week or so. I'll update my sig soon with my PSU model number.
  18. This is my first post and my first major problem. Over the last 2 weeks my server has crashed/ dirty shutdown 3 times. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. i have attached tail of syslog before last crash. also the boot syslog after last crash. i have attached pre short test and post short test smart reports for my Drives. Thanks Unraid_syslog_and_reports.zip
