  1. The only place /mnt/user location is specified would be under docker settings correct? Just wanting to make sure there is not a system setting elsewhere that creates the user link.
  2. Ok, so just cooy or move the appdata directory or restore a backup to the cache drive. Then the only paths that may need editing are under docker settings to point to docker appdata location, and if needed individual docker links updated? Is there anyplace else i would have to change disk1/user/appdata to cache/user/appdata in unraid? Also apparently there is a filemanager plugin would this be an easier method of moving files and directores between drives vs putty and command line? Shit i may need to look up the copy and move lines again been so long since I have used them 🤣. Also per one of your previous replies, i am still on 6.11 just upgraded to it a couple weeks ago when starting the server overhaul and may wait awhile before trying 6.12 for bugs to get worked out and dockers updated.
  3. I only have disk shares setup, appdata would be under shares if I had user shares enabled. Disk shares seem to only allow view of directory structure and enable or disable share access.
  4. Currently in the process of backing up "appdata" as a precaution, but while it is in process I tried to look into your directions and my shares screen will only let me see what is on the drives unless I misunderstood you. Edit: I only have disk shares , is that the reason I may not be seeing it? Also thank you kumper33 for the link.
  5. Thank you, I will try that when i get hoe from work. Btw would you happen to know of a method to automaticly backup appdata to the array at a preset day/time?
  6. Sorry for the late reply, anyway I think I was successful at changing the cache and I think I set it up as raid 1. I also created a second pool labeled download for the single 1tb ssd as the download/temp drive, and then mounted the old cache/download hdd in unassigned devices so I can pull the data from it later. Never used the mover before, how do I use it to move appdata from disk 1 to cache ,and is there a way to setup an automatic scheduled backup of appdata to a drive in the array? Also I am assuming I will need to update my docker links to the new cache and download pools? Thank you for the assistance you have given btw. -Ryan
  7. They are physically installed in the server, but have not been added to unraid as of yet. I would like to replace the original 1x 500gb hdd used as cache with 2x 1tb ssds in a raid 1 setup for some data redundancy. Can I increase the original cache pool to two devices then replace the original 500gb hdd with an ssd. Then add the second ssd in slot two and configure for raid one or would it be easier to delete the original pool and recreate. I do want to hopefully mount the 500gb in unassigned devices and move the data on that drive. Then my question is how do I then move "appdata" to the new 2x1tb ssd cache, and do I need to update my dockers and anything else? After that has been resolved I need to mount a third 1x 1tb ssd I have installed either as a cache pool or unassigned devices to create a download/ temp drive and then mount the old cache drive hopefully in unassigned devices? And move the old data to the new download / temp drive. Btw is their any reason to use unassigned devices vs creating a single drive under pool devices for the download / temp drive. I can get a screen shot later, not near my home atm.
  8. I have already installed the three new data drives, swapped one with the parity to increase parity size, and added three ssds (two for a redundant cache one for download/temp files). If I remove the 500gb cache drive can it be mounted in unassigned devices without formating so I can move the data on the drive.
  9. Currently under settings for the old 500gb cache drive it is listed as "btrfs".
  10. Unraid version: 6.11.5 I recently added more storage drives and swapped the parity, while server was down I decided to add two 1tb ssds to create a redundant cache and move my "appdata" to the cache and then another 1tb drive to replace the old 500gb cache drive I was using as a download/temp directory. My question is how do I change the single 500gb cache to two 1tb ssds in pool devices and make them redundant, and then what is the best method of adding the third 1tb ssd to the server for my temp/download area? should I use unassigned devices for the download/temp drive or add it as a single pool device. Also once the three ssds are in place how do I move my "appdata" to the cache and have my dockers pull the data from there instead of disk1. last and not least would I be able to mount the old cache/download/temp drive in unassigned devices and copy/ move the data on the old drive to the new download/temp ssd? Sorry if any of this is confusing if needed I will try to clarify better on request
  11. So after some research it appears the major manufactures of ssds have had some major issues over the last few years with failures, most notably samsung. Atm I am considering the WD blue sata line, but i want some form of redundancy for my appdata in cache so how do I go about making a redundant cache? Also any apps that I can setup to automaticly backup appdata or certain directories on the cache drive?
  12. Still looking into reliable drives, but I may have changed my mind a bit on the use of the cache pool. I may consider 2x 1tb sata ssds for the pool for the appdata directory then a 3rd 500gb-1tb sata ssd as my download drive for media using the plugin to mount the drive outside of the array. No point in having redundancy for a temp download drive
  13. Hopping for some suggestions from long term users of ssds for cache, but I did a little more digging on the Samsung drives and apparently there was an issue with some of their evo drives in the past they cause them to fail quickly (need to check a laptop drive I replaced a few years ago now) so what at your thoughts on western digital blue or crucial brand 3d nand sata III ssds?
  14. Doing some updates to my server and seriously considering swapping the 500gb hdd cache drive for a pair of 1 or even 2tb ssds and perhaps moving the appdata off parity to speed things up as well. Would these ssds be durable enough for download cache as well as appdata https://a.co/d/6dmscSm. Also while I am asking questions does a cache pool offer any form of redundancy or do you need to make regular backups ? -Ryan
  15. So boot up system Format 14tb drive? Take screenshot of drive order Unmount current 10tb parity Mount 14tb parity to 10tb parity slot Start array and rebuild parity Once done re add the 10tb former parity as a data drive and format. Btw do you recomend a full or short S.M.A.R.T test on drives? On a side note I shucked the 14tb wd white-red from an easy store like the 10tb before, did not seem to have any 3.3v pin issues on the 10tb anyway to check the 14tb for pin issues before swap?
  16. Been awhile since i have had some free time to update and maintain my home server, last update was nearly two years ago to 6.8.2 an not sure if i should update the os or not as it is currently quite stable on my older hardware. I need to add another data drive or two and would like to replace my 10tb parity with a 14tb, I have read about several methods though not sure what method would be the safest. So far I have disabled dockers, ran a parity check , shut down array and installed at least one 14tb( not pre cleared or formated) though have not started the system yet as not sure what method is advisable for single parity drive upgrade and move old parity to data.
  17. Since the first fail email was in regards to a missing cache drive would that cause the array to go into standby and report disk read errors on every drive? Also this server has been online except for recent maintenance for over a year, so hardware conflict or possible failure of MB, drive, cable, or sas expander card? just seems odd to have resolved after a reboot.
  18. Honestly I rebooted the system and it came online picking up all the disks, I then shut it down again and check all cables and cards to be on the safe side. Starting to wonder if Unraid did not just have an error. Also 66% of the way through a parity check and 0 errors so far. n54l-diagnostics-20200403-1549.zip

  20. So apparently there is some sort of issue going on with my server, my wife contacted me about being unable to access our nas and dockers. emails received: 4/3/20 12:20a Event: Unraid Status Subject: Notice [N54L] - array health report [PASS]\ - 8:56a Event: Unraid Cache disk message Subject: Warning [N54L] - Cache pool BTRFS missing device(s) Description: (sdf) Importance: warning - 8:56a Event: Unraid array errors Subject: Warning [N54L] - array has errors Description: Array has 5 disks with read errors Importance: warning Parity disk - (sdb) (errors 69) Disk 1 - (sde) (errors 69) Disk 2 - - (sdd) (errors 66) Disk 3 - (sdc) (errors 66) Disk 4 - (sdg) (errors 66) - 12:20p Event: Unraid Status Subject: Notice [N54L] - array health report [FAIL] Description: Array has 6 disks (including parity & cache) Importance: warning Parity - (sdb) - standby (disk has read errors) [NOK] Disk 1 - (sde) - standby (disk has read errors) [NOK] Disk 2 - (sdd) - standby (disk has read errors) [NOK] Disk 3 - (sdc) - standby (disk has read errors) [NOK] Disk 4 - (sdg) - standby (disk has read errors) [NOK] Cache - (sdf) - standby [OK] Parity is valid Last checked on Thursday, 02/27/2020, 01:48 PM (36 days ago), finding 0 errors. Duration: 21 hours, 12 minutes, 43 seconds. Average speed: 131.0 MB/s ---------------------------- When I got home for work I logged into the gui and the unraid os seemed to be running fine, but all the drives were offline and the dockers were offline and missing the docker page had a ton of errors all over the page. I went ahead and downloaded a diagnostics file, shut down the system and reset all cables and cards and when I booted the system back up it showed a green notification and showed no issues. I am currently running a non correcting parity check to the drives. Thank you ahead of time for any insight you can offer on the matter.
  21. Removing the show and adding it in again appears to resolve the issue, this is going to take awhile lol
  22. All of my files from sickrage use the following naming patern Season %0S/%SN - S%0SE%0E - %EN - %QN - %RT Season 02/Show Name - S02E03 - Ep Name - 720p HDTV - PROPER.ext I will try re scanning all of my shows an example would be Season 01/The 100 - S01E01 - Pilot - SD DVD.mkv medusa reports Archived 720p HDTV I tried to rescan this one show and no change.
  23. Yes, I imported my sickbeard.db and switched over to medusa. The problem is even though the file names contain the quality in them medusa appears to not follow them for all files.
  24. Perhaps someone here could assist me as Ive tried looking everywhere else, but cannot find any info on my issue. I am toying around with moving from sickrage to medusa atm I used a copy of the sickbeard.db and imported it into medusa, but none of the episode qualities match what i have in sickrage ie in sickrage a file marked as sd dvd comes up as 720p hdtv and its not just the sd dvd its all of them. I was going to manually change the quality, but i dont even see a method to do that.
  25. Thank you ,mc was quite easy to use compared to a command line.
