  1. I am looking for suggestions on where to find a good deal on memory for a x9sl-F+ motherboard. there are a lot of ways to search for memory I was hoping owners of the x9sm motherboards had any good pointers. not looking for the obvious ebay, amazon, google search. I currently have 4 gb with two free slots. Not opposed to used memory if it works. thanks for any suggestions Kind Regards

  5. Ok so I ordered a new Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 from newegg. It is a 4k format drive but is lies to the system and tells it the sector size is 512 bytes. Should I set the align option in UnRaid before I add this drive? Anyone out there have this drive done any testing for aligned vs unaligned? I cannot find any documentation for the drive that shows any jumpers. Thanks

    CrashPlan

http://support.crashplan.com/doku.php/faq/backup#can_i_back_up_my_crashplan_archives_with_crashplan Can I back up my CrashPlan archives with CrashPlan? No. CrashPlan excludes its own backup archives from the file selection. This is hardcoded and cannot be changed. If you'd like your backup data stored at multiple locations, simply back up your files to multiple destinations.

    CrashPlan

You cannot use crashplan to backup a crashplan backup file. There are important files I put on unRaid that i like to have available for the whole house - like pictures. I put them on unRaid and they get set to Crashplan. Since the server is on 24x7 I dont really care that I have a slow pipe to the internet. I also use my UnRaid server as a local backup of my other PC's. It is a destination for my laptops and desktops. Those laptops and desktops also send to crashplan. BUT with my slow pipe I use my unRaid server as a fast backup location.
  18. Not to ding backblaze but CrashPlan IMHO is superior to backblaze. If you have not really looked closely you may have missed crashplan features. Here is one difference: Deleted Files Backblaze will keep versions of a file that changes for up to 30 days. However, Backblaze is not designed as an additional storage system when you run out of space. Backblaze mirrors your drive. If you delete your data, it will be deleted from Backblaze after 30 days. How long does CrashPlan keep deleted files? Unless you tell CrashPlan otherwise, CrashPlan keeps deleted files forever

  20. I have the 10 computer plan. Backing up to UnRaid fast. Backing up over the internet slow. I only have 512kbps uplink to the internet.
  21. I highly recomend CrashPlan for backups. The family plan is $6.00 a month for up to 10 computers with unlimited storage if you buy 4 years at a time. Single computers are $2.92 a month with unlimited storage if you buy 4 years at a time. (these are the personal rates) I works with UnRaid. I have all of my pc's backing up to my unRaid server and the cloud. I have my unRaid server backing up to the cloud. You can backup to your computers or a friends computer over the internet for free. Works for winBlow$ (32 and 64 bit versions) , solaris, Linux and Mac And they are running 10% off right now .... https://www.crashplan.com/consumer/store-holiday.vtl (man I wish I could get a comission for all the peeps i send there way)
