Preclear plugin
I preclear EVERY disk with 3 cycles. Can i do this without the plugin? What i noticed is that my system always became unresponsive part way through a third cycle. Now i know that this may have been down to log filling up. Any idea on that error code which miraculously disappeared once i removed EVERY component of preclear including the removed entrues themselves. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk

Sorry for being late back on this one. I "think" this was being caused by the preclear plugin. Once removed everything sprung back to life. All ok again. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk

Preclear plugin
Hi ... i've just removed the preclear plugin and rebooted my server. However the system log is generating the following errors at 2sec intervals ... 'Jun 21 16:21:23 smtower nginx: 2018/06/21 16:21:23 [error] 5338#5338: *1 FastCGI sent in stderr: "Primary script unknown" while reading response header from upstream, client: 192.168.1.68, server: , request: "POST /plugins/preclear.disk/Preclear.php HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock:", host: "192.168.1.15", referrer: "http://192.168.1.15/Docker" Any ideas ? 192.168.1.68 appears to be the web session from which i'm browsing but i'm assuming that some bit of preclear is still being 'probed' for want of a better word. The plugin does not show on the gui and has no plg left in plugin folder on flash? Update ... why is it in italic, i've no idea! But ... i removed the preclear plg file from the 'removed' plugins folder and the errors have stopped!! Strange eh. And ... i've been having problems accessing the appstore for a few days. That also has resolved itself with the removal of the plugin. But ... I still NEED the plugin so will install/remove on an as and when basis in future. Not ideal but ... any ideas on what was wrong greatly appreciated.

For some reason my app search on just one of my servers has stopped working. Not sure if it has worked recently but not had any prompts now that i think about it. I am unable to retrieve anything although i still do get the three 'random' apps of the day so, to me, that indicates my access is still ok. I do get the search boxes ie home, installed etc being returned and my settings are still at default. The other two servers on the same network are both ok. Search immediately returns the expected results. Any ideas chaps? Running 6.5.2 for info. Update ... just updated to 6.5.3, still the same. I AM able to update all dockets its just the retrieval of app list that isnt working for me. Possible that somethings full somewhere?? Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk

Dealing with unclean shutdowns
Ok ... thanks for that but i'm still not fully understanding. I'll have another go. Its the relationship between vm and disk timeouts thats got me. I had a vm up and running and the system shut down just as before. If that vm had overrun to lets say 120 secs the system would have 'waited' on the vm irrespective of other timers being met, yes? Dealing with unclean shutdowns
I also found it v.useful ... but i have a question regarding the disk settings timeout. I changed mine to 420 as recommended but on a 'clean' powerdown instigated by myself the system just shut down as normal within what seemed to be the default 60secs. Is this right or should i expect every shutdown to last 420 secs minimum? Or, as seems to be the case once the disks are 'safely' unmounted the system just powers down overriding the timer setting? I'm testing an APC ups and having all sorts of probs getting the values right. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk

[Support] binhex - Plex
Thanks. How is your tv folder mapped to its unraid directory? Have you added a second path to the docker image, which by default only comes with /media. Its these 'extra' paths that i cant seem to get right. Think i'll give emby another go. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk

[Support] binhex - Plex
Thanks for that. How do you map the individual folders ie movies, tv, etc or dont you separate your media? I have the initial mappings working ok but obviously need to add more containers. How do oeople have additional folders mapped? Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk

[Support] binhex - Plex
Just installed Binhex plex instance and have managed to get it up and running using the basic mounts but i'm really confused over how i add further containers. Is anyone able to explain or screenshot their docker image showing how their folders are mapped to the host? Might just make things easier to understand. Cheers ... Preclear plugin
I got this running the beta plugin so ended up uninstalling. There's still something not right though as i'm now seeing multiple log file entries every few seconds whereas i used to just have one entry which updated on screen when you viewed the logfile. I think this has something to do with losing my web connection each and every time i try to preclear an 8TB drive. I've run the preclear multiple times and still dont have any report to say if its good or bad. Just going to put it into service. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk

Unassigned Devices - Managing Disk Drives and Remote Shares Outside of The Unraid Array
I've not got another 8TB drive to test UD with so i'll drop out of this discussion to avoid any confusion and stick to preclearing inside the array in future. I've no other need for UD, just gave it a go. Should have mentioned that the preclear logfile for the failed attempt via UD showed that it appeared to be waiting for a 'Y'es input to continue?? I was using the established JoeL script and not the faster preclear script. Could this be the issue? If not, then how are the responses required by the preclear script handled by UD? Am i supposed to have any other plugins installed? Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk

Unassigned Devices - Managing Disk Drives and Remote Shares Outside of The Unraid Array
Sorry for butting in guys but should i be able to UD a drive and then preclear using the preclear plugin? I managed to start the preclear, drive was in an external usb enclosure (inateck) but the system immediately locked up and failed to respond so i opened the case and precleared with the drive internal to the array which kinda defeated the object of the exercise. Just wondering if i was trying to do something UD cant handle? Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk

UnRAID Manual 6 (Downloadable/Printable PDF)
Whatever happens ... as an 'insignificant' here can I thank Frank for his efforts and say that I for one will find this extremely useful irrespective of where it eventually ends up (but, hey .. it should really be maintained alongside/ahead of the wiki as 'new' users expect at least this level of hand-holding these days and they are the future customer base). I still find things extremely difficult to cross reference even with the wiki so this comes in way ahead of that as, like others have said, it can be held alongside the installation.

Increase vdisk
Good to hear ... Howzabout changing your thread title to [sOLVED} maybe?

Increase vdisk
I did this recently when toying around. Think you just click on the vm 'name', this will give you a dropdown of the disks and iso images contained in the vm, then click on the vdisk size entry itself, in your case the 40G figure, and voila you'll be given an edit option to change the size. Not sure if thats the 'official' way to extend the size but it certainlty worked.
