  1. I wont then .... i'll 'let it be' and get on with life. I've got a 32 core cpu doing zilch so doubt i'll miss the mitigated horsepower.
  2. I'm confused .... just a lowdown home user, not serving vm's or anything else to anyone. I'm guessing i'm safe to install this, yes? I'd like not to see the errors in my syslog, will this suppress these, i'm doubting it.
  3. This message is being logged to my syslog, what does it mean and is any action required? I have looked at a few references online, its been around since 2019 apparently but as i never had a 'vulnerable' cpu config until now i've never seen it. Seems to affect a good few xeon processors so i'm trusting that this has been seen before now but a quick search on here came up with no results for me. Can anyone advise?
  4. Hi .... can someone 'educate' me as to why the wakeonlan package installs itself at every reboot? On cheking my syslogs following a strange crash this evening and finding wakeonlan and assocaited modules as the first entries in the log following the crash i then checked back to see genuine reloads and it seems to be being installed at every reboot, just wondering why and trying to undesratnd the reasons for my crash. Anyone any ideas?
  5. Bumping the exact same issue .... unraid 6.9.2, anyone else?
  6. This is still a problem for me, drives permanently in an 'up' state ... diagnostics attached as requested. Update .... my drive spindown is being interrupted by SMART reads to each disk every hour which spins them back up. What controls this timing? I'm assuming i dont need SMART checks every hour on the hour but cant find a setting to adjust anywhere???
  7. Hi ... i stop my plex docker when not being used and wonder how i can automatically unmount my remote 'share' to enable disks on the other system to spin down?
  8. Many thanks to @wgstarks @TexasDaddy for their assistance. Embarassingl for me, on opening my case to look for BMC mac address 'sticker' i found that IPMI jumper setting was set to 'disabled' (why oh why!) so when i moved the shunt everything was revealed, voila!! An easy mistake to make, oops! So ... with ipmi set up correctly ive moved on to fan control via this plugin and i havent a clue. Anyone care to post up a couple of screenshots of their settings on a SM x10 board preferably? I think i've managed to get through the screens but i fall down when it comes to the fan control config editor which when i pick 'sensors' from the dropdown list shows absolutely nothing to edit, should it? Or do i have to populate an empty base file. If so, how? As my board has dual cpus how do these work alongside this plugin? There are nine fan inputs (1-6, A-C) with two currently unused but to be allocated to onboard coolers as a second fan on each. Assistance so far has been invaluable, thanks.
  9. Thankyou! I'll open things up and take a look. If i remember there was a manufacturer sticker on there. Any idea of whther i'm safe to reset BMC without it affecting anything else, i'm becoming paranoid. I cant get the parity to stick, disks to spin down and now the fans!!
  10. Anyone able to help me set up my ipmi? I can't identify the ipmi Mac address so don't see a way if assigning a local IP without this. Board is an X10DRI-LN4+ with ipmi. Is it wise to reset the BMC itself which appears to be the only other option in the bios? Will this affect the running of my server in any way or is the BMC independent? Still learning about these SM boards and, like others, need to get control of the fan's back 'in house' ... thx!
  11. Where's the MAC address though? IP I can set in bios ...
  12. SM X10DRi-LN4+ board. How do i identify my IPMI address? Been into bios, but seems it needs a mac address to go alongside my allocating a static IP, does that sound about right? Cant see a mac address anywhere though ... whats the procedure for setting things up?
  13. I'm still learning, not that many times i need to ask for advice ... tower-diagnostics-20210418-1935.zip
  14. Tried all of the so called fixes to do with removing suspected plugins and drives still wont spin down. Is this related to the fact that i cant spin down my fans either (supermicro x10dri-ln4+ mobo). Appeasr this board has no pwm controller, what the f***. Anyone sorted this one also? What with not being able to post a valid parity and now these problems, maybe time to rebuild on a different setup.
  15. I've noticed this in the logs, no idea if it's relevant or not, anyone know what it means? 'kernel: pmd_set_huge: Cannot satisfy [mem 0xc0000000-0xc0200000] with a huge-page mapping due to MTRR override' Not being flagged as anything worthy of an error or even a warning but reads that way? MTRR override??
  16. So .... it just sits there for the time being? All new stuff this to me ... had unraid for years, rock solid till now. I thought about going to 6.9.2 but cant really see any correlation in the changelogs but if it is still happening on the latest release then i'd find out, yes?
  17. Now raised as a bug report (SimonF), first time for me. Still happening .... random run times following parity start and parity check speeds drop like a stone. Telling info is in syslogs and diagnostics posted up.
  18. Following hard reboot i get a succesful (!) parity check msg ' Unraid Parity sync / Data rebuild: 16-04-2021 18:55 Notice [] - Parity sync / Data rebuild finished (0 errors) Duration: 10 hours, 28 minutes, 13 seconds. Average speed: nan B/s' Note the speed 'nan B/s' ?
  19. system wont reboot, needs a hard powerdown once locked up.
  20. Originally raised on Any ideas guys, cant get a valid parity as it stands .... not sure about priority but it's definitely an 'urgent' one for me. Feel free to reclassify as needs ...
  21. And again following reboot, one further attempt a parity check .... tower-diagnostics-20210416-1830.zip
  22. Hi ... i've been trying to parity check my recently built system after loading the data for the past couple of nights. Each time the system has hung and needed to be hard booted to restore access so parity is never being established. Today i set up a syslog server and 'babysat' a fresh attempt and one third into the parity check at approx 35% it began to 'die' with the time needed to complete dropping dramatically to a point of 8 days and a speed of 8.2 MB/s. At that point i paused it (it was never able to be resumed) and dumped the diagnostics as attached. Looks like it hit a kernel panic ... anyone any ideas? tower-diagnostics-20210416-1547.zip
  23. Anyone any ideas on this appearing in syslog .... bear in mind i have only just installed ipmi plugin in anattempt to sort out fan problems on my x10dri-ln4f which seems to have no pwn control that i can latch on to ... 'kernel: x86/PAT: ipmi-sensors:62796 map pfn expected mapping type uncached-minus for [mem 0x796aa000-0x796aafff], got write-back' these errors just fill the syslog until the system eventually becomes unresponsive necessitating a reboot. Hve now disable plugin and messages stopped. Any ideas anyone?
  24. ... as title. my dashboard isn't retaining its placement of each section. They seem to move at random. Is this a known issue, cause its a real pita and i've given up moving them back.
