  1. FYI - the Norco SS-400 only needs one molex connection. The 2nd one is in case you have a redundant power supply. Sent from my Touchpad using Tapatalk 2
  2. So, is this true,..the web gui will not work with Firefox? It is working using Firefox (ver 15.0) on My Win7 64 bit computer. Did you clear Firefox's cache? Firefox works perfectly fine for me too. My guess is you haven't cleared your browser cache.

I'd highly recommend it. One other option would be power line networking. I've got a 200 mb on one of my clients and it works pretty well. A little buffering when just starting videos but works perfectly fine once going. Not sure if I'd want my server running off one unless you're only going to serve 1 client though. 4. Just wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten about this. Husbandly duties (not the fun kind ) have prevented me from getting to it but I'll try to get a new vid done in the next day or two. Also, I've changed plans a little bit. I completely forgot I have a Rosewill RSV-R4000 lying around and am planning to move the Asus C60M1-I into it as soon as I get my Norco SS-400. Will hopefully get that done this weekend.

If at all possible use wired. No matter the signal or protocol (a/b/g/n) of wireless you're much better off having it wired. Playing 1080p over wireless is going to be very difficult.
  6. I've got the same problem and haven't been able to figure it out. I've got a share named "TV" on unraid but on all my Windows machines it comes up as "tv". Have tried the trick above with no luck. This happens on the mapped drive name and if I browse to my unraid machine. Obviously it's not a big deal so I've pretty much decided to live with it.
  7. It's only got 1 case fan right now but I have the side off at the moment. Planning to switch some drives around in the near future. Also, sorry, I wasn't able to get another video last night. I'll try to get to it tonight. *edit* - for typos.
  8. I remember reading in a few reviews that this tends to run a little hot. I'd say it's okay since I haven't had any problems at all, then again, I'm really bad about paying attention to temps. FYI, It's 1/2 way through with a parity check that I started immediately after a parity sync and it's reporting at 62.0 C.
  9. Also, for anyone that might be interested, it completed a parity sync in 4 1/2 hours. Currently checking parity.
  10. As far as I know you're right on. I just used two since it was cheaper.
  11. I'll see if I can take another vid tonight. As for this server, right now it's just in a spare Antec Sonata II case. Using this Kingston RAM. As for hard drives right now it's got an old 500 GB Seagate and a 500 GB WD. I'm syncing parity right now to a 1TB WD. It's been just under 2 hours and it's at 40%. My plan is to move over a few 2TB drives from my ESXi rig as I upgrade them to 3TB drives and keep this server for only music/documents. Planning to move this into a 2U or 3U rackmount case such as the Norco RPC-231 and use this IcyDock 3 in 2 backplane. Anyone have any other suggestions let me know.
  12. Haven't had any issues with the NIC at all. I haven't played any MKV's but can run a test tonight. Will use the birds test from http://www.auby.no/files/video_tests/ unless you have something else you'd like me to use. I'll try to get the temps while it's streaming as well. I'm using the latest release candidate (5.0-rc8a) with only Simple Features and unMenu for addons. I ran the birds test video and I'd have to say it went really smooth. I've uploaded a video of it here. This is played in XBMC on a full Windows 7 install over samba. Sorry for the poor quality but all I have is my phone. FWIW, in the video I uploaded it seems to start out a little slow, that must be from my phone's camera because watching it live it looked perfect. I also ran the video 4 or 5 times on my main computer, no stutters or issues at all. I checked the temp immediately after and it was at 63.1 C. For reference, it's been probably 1/2 hour since I ran anything off of that server and the temp is sitting at 62.0 C. Overall I'm extremetly happy with this little guy. Anything else you'd like me to check out, let me know.
  13. 1. Haven't had any issues at all so see no need to use a PCIe ethernet card. 2. I don't have any spare 3TB drives to test but since the mobo is pretty new I'd be incredibly surprised if it had any problem with them. 3. FWIW - Mine is running off of the Corsair CX430 and like I've mentioned, not having any issues at all.

  15. I've got the Asus C60M1-I and worked with it a bit this weekend. See my post here. Can't help you on if it would run the addons. I'm going to be using it strictly for storage.
  16. Well, I didn't get to do all that I was planning but have worked with and been very happy with the Asus C60M1-I. Threw a couple older hard drives in there for preclear. Added to the array and moved a bunch of non-essential files over. Don't have a parity drive installed yet as I'm waiting on a couple RMAs and a preclear. Only possible issue that I know of is that I had a preclear stall on one drive but think it's probably a bad drive. Started it again and it seems to be working fine now though. I've attached my syslog if you want to take a look. Any questions you have, let me know.
  17. I just received that motherboard on Monday but haven't had a chance to really work with it. I can say it boots up and connects to the internet just fine. All I've been able to do was start a drive preclearing on it. Am planning to get to it this weekend and will try and update on how well it works.
  18. I use Subsonic and it works great for me. I have it running off my Windows VM using music from my unRAID but here's a thread on how to get it working under unRAID: lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=17092.75
  19. I'm running 5b11 in an esxi VM. Basically an exact copy of Johnm's machine. Had a 2TB drive red ball so replaced with a precleared 3TB. Started the rebuild 2 hours ago and it's at 0.1% done going at a rate of 376 KB/sec. Syslog is attached, anyone see any problems? syslog-2012-10-25.zip
  20. I'm assuming you're wanting unRAID to do this and for that I can't help. If you have a Windows PC you can use Belvedere. I use it to do somewhat the same thing and it works great.
  21. 1 MV8 sold, 1 still available. Thanks GFOviedo!
  22. Yeah, there were some lost and found but still some missing.
  23. Thank you, seems to have solved the issue, now I just need to figure out what files I lost. Thanks,
