  1. That's what I was thinking but wanted an expert to suggest it first. I didn't know since it didn't explicitly say to run the --rebuild-tree option. We'll see what an expert has to say. Thanks
  2. Replaced a failing disk and after the disk rebuild the new disk is showing unformatted. I ran the reiserfsck --check command on the disk and got the following result: Replaying journal: Done. Reiserfs journal '/dev/md6' in blocks [18..8211]: 0 transactions replayed Checking internal tree.. Bad root block 134911349. (--rebuild-tree did not complete) Aborted Any advice? Do I need to run reiserfsck with the --rebuild-tree option? Thanks for any help.

    Motherboard ?'s

Thanks for the reply, I don't know why I never think about warranties for some reason. I'll definitely contact Biostar and see if I can get a replacement. As for this PC, I think I'm going to try to use it to replace my Acer Revo 3600 as my main HTPC. Am looking forward to trying out the latest XBMCbuntu beta.

    Motherboard ?'s

Mods, since this isn't really unRAID related I put it in the Lounge but if it needs to be moved to Motherboards, I totally understand. Long story short, I've got a Biostar TH55 HD that developed a short or something at one of the USB headers and started to bake/melt the PCB. I've removed the USB leads and the system still works, actually used it to flash my M1015, but I'm a little nervous to use it/leave it on for long. Anyways, anyone think it would still be safe to use (obviously not using that USB header)? If not, anyone have any suggestions for a motherboard to use my Core i3 550 and RAM? Would probably use it as an HTPC or a backup unRAID machine. If used for unRAID would only use a few drives so no need for multiple PCIe slots. Thanks for any suggestions,
  5. Preface: the following post is true but full of sarcasm. I'm pretty disappointed in this app. Was trying to identify some MASK episodes and it failed on every one.

  7. By the end of this week I should have all the parts to have a complete copy of Atlas and had a couple of little questions I didn't see answered anywhere. Once I'm switched over to the M1015 with expander, should I remove the "hack" that got the MV8's working? Also, and I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this one, I had to use the irqpoll fix in my syslinux.cfg to get my machine stable, I'm assuming I should remove this once I'm not using the MV8's. Anyone have any insight? Thanks for any help and Johnm, thanks for such a great tutorial. Like I mentioned, I have literally copied Atlas part for part (except for some fans) and haven't been happier.
  8. It took me a long time but I finally settled on the following: Artist/Year - Album/Track # - Title.ext Various Artists/Album - Year/Track # - Artist - Title.ext I use Tag&Rename on everything. I like that going into an artist folder the albums are then listed chronologically. Also, since everything is fully tagged my foobar and xbmc don't care how they're set up. Edit: Oh yeah, I also remove "The" from the beginning of all artists in their tags and folder names. I've found it way too tedious to determine which artists "The" is technically part of their name and which aren't. Sent from my Evo3D using Tapatalk
  9. If you do end up going that route, I'd recommend the HP IR receivers. They're really cheap and work perfectly out of the box. I've got three of them, and have had 0 problems. Use them with my Harmony remotes and under OpenELEC, Windows 7, and XBMC Live. Got mine from Ebay, here's an example of one. Just a suggestion but after having problems with a couple other receivers I tried, these have been great. Edit: Not to mention the cord is really long so they can be placed pretty much wherever you want. I've got one velcroed (sp?) to the underside of my entertainment center a few feet from my Revo. You can't even tell it's there unless you notice the light when it receives a signal.
  10. Not sure if this is the right place to ask but for these M1015's without the bracket, what are you doing with them in the case? Are you re-using a bracket from something else or do you have these "going commando" (without a bracket)? Probably going the the M1015 and RES2SV240 direction on my build and interested to hear your solution. Thanks.
  11. It is "red" because a write to it failed. A different slot might fix an intermittent connection, but it will not magically get it to not be "red" See the wiki on how to proceed to get a working drive back into the array once you fix a bad connection to it. (Hint, you must un-assign it, start the array with it un-assigned, re-assign it, and then re-construct it.) I understand, thanks for the help.
  12. Thanks for the suggestions, on a whim, I got it to do a clean shutdown and restarted the server. Everything is working as normal, the only difference is Drive 6 is still red-balled. I'm going to try to run a smart report and then try it in a different slot. Thanks again.
  13. Would that help return my files? Just want to make sure not to do any more damage if I can help it.
  14. So here's the story, I got up this morning and my server was unresponsive, could not access the gui and when I telneted (sp?) in with PuTTY and logged into the console I could not get it to shutdown. I did a hard reset and when I turned it back on the array wasn't started but said configuration valid. So, probably my first mistake was that I just started the array. Things looked good so I went to work. I logged in from work and saw that sabnzb+ hadn't started, checked unMenu and it showed uninstalled, in a rush I re-installed, started it up, it looked to be working but then I checked Sickbeard and it was running but none of my shows/config was there. After a few minutes, the server became unresponsive again, no gui, no unMenu, telnet not working. Got home, hard reset the thing again, again, it comes up configuration valid so I start it again (I know, I'm an idiot). Now I just realized that my shares are no longer there at all, the gui is working fine but my shares are no longer there at all, I can't access the disk shares through smb or MC. Now I'm worried, so I check the disk1 settings, it's showing MBR: unaligned, there are a few other disks showing that as well. I'm stumped and also a little worried. I've attached the current syslog if that helps. Server stats are: Case: Norco 4224 PSU: Corsair TX750 MB: BIOSTAR TH55 HD CPU: Intel Core i3 550 RAM: 4GB Kingston 12 disks using a cache drive. New Info: Parity check was in progress, it just stopped and red balled Disk 6. Syslog is from after the drive redballed. Any help very appreciated. Edit: Sorry, unraid Beta 12a syslog2.zip
  15. Thank you so much, I was having problems getting the script to call up and this fixed it. FWIW, just navigated to /mnt/cache/.sickbeard/autoProcessTV and ran the line above in putty, works like a charm now.
  16. I got in on one of these as well, looking forward to building out an ESXi rig with it! Can't believe the price, thanks for the heads up.
  17. This is a noob question for sure but the Stop button in the gui is not working for me. How do I manually stop PMS so I can restart it with my new configuration?
  18. Thanks for the heads up, got one ordered and just about have my server filled out.
  19. Was that included in the most recent/previous packages? I only ask because the method I described worked for me when I kept losing my configs. P.S. - Thanks for all the work you put into the packages. I've taken advantage of all you do and am very appreciative.
  20. I am having trouble with my mising config settings on restart also. I can shut down sabnzb and restart from the unmenu scripts and sabnzb settings will be retrieved. But with sickbeard I have to re-enter all my settings even after a shut down/restart. Have you added the line in your go script telling the server not to load unmenu/programs until the array has been started? That fixed the same problem for me. I can't give you the line now since I'm on my phone but I'll get it done tomorrow. # Wait for the array to start... (before installing any packages that expect the array to be fully started) until `cat /proc/mdcmd 2>/dev/null | grep -q -a "STARTED" ` ; do echo ">>>waiting..." ; sleep 1 ; done ; echo ">>>STARTED." Edit: updated with the line from the go script. Credit to purko and Rajahal from this topic. At least that's where I found it. Try adding that line after: /usr/local/sbin/emhttp & and before anything else in your go script.

    Norco 4224 Thread

FWIW - I got a customer loyalty email from newegg with 20% off all Norco/Supermicro/iStarUSA chassis. So all told, even after the ridiculous shipping charges I got the 4224 with the RL-26 rails for $373.96. Also, this is the first Norco I've purchased, I've just been checking everyday for the price to come down or for the bonus item (no need for a dvd burner) to be worthwhile.
  22. I really like the idea, one thing I thought of while reading your post was possibly trying to use google+'s hangout feature so for specific topics multiple people could participate. It would be more like unRAID class but could be beneficial if there were a bunch of people wanting to do the same things.
  23. I've got this one and it works like a dream. Use it mostly for my music library and some portable apps that I take to work but will also play 1080p mkvs off of it and have never had a problem.
  24. Cool deal, got the right one. Thanks. And thanks to the OP for the heads up on the SASLP deal.
  25. Amazon has them for $18.60 per cable. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I just ordered what looks to be the almost the exact same cable (.5M as apposed to .6M) from SuperBiiz here for $14.99 Also, you can use the same coupon code for 10% off but I couldn't since I just used it when ordering the controller card separately. This is the correct card for me to go from the controller card, to 4 bare drives correct? edit: for cable length.
