  1. I've been searching, but have not been able to find this. Can anyone tell me the sizes (in bytes) for: WDC WD20EARS Hitachi 5K3000 2Tb Need to get some new drives for my array, but want to make sure there won't be issues with data disk vs parity disk size.
  2. Anyone test this? I just bought one to try, but I wanted to know if anyone else has before me. Thanks! I got my card yesterday. I now have 2 cards passed in my ESXi 4.1U1 test server connected to 3 160Gb drives in unRAID 5.0b6a. They seem to work quite well. I have run 4 parity checks, read 500gb off the array, wrote 120Gb back all with no issues. Works much better than than Sil card which would freeze the whole system if you wrote to one channel while reading from another. A bit more load testing to do, but these will probably become my production array running under ESXi (as soon as I get VMTools under 4.7).
  3. No. 4.6 uses a different Kernel and glibc version.
  4. There seems to a bit of an issue with the new Autostart option: Upgrade from 5.0b6 to 5.0b6a all my disks come up with a valid MBR type. Start Array. Check the Autostart option; It was set to Yes automatically. Reboot Array does not start, Check the Autostart option; It is now set to No. Start Array. Auto Start is now Yes. Stop Array Auto Start is now No. Set Auto Start to Yes. Reboot. Array actually Autostarts.
  5. I have my test array working under ESXi4.1U1 using VMDirectPath to map a ICH6 SATA controller on a Dell Optiplex 755. I made a vmare-tools addon that works in v.5beta: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=11449.0
  6. Open-vm-tools for unRAID open-vm-tools for users running unRAID as a guest in VMWare's eSXi. It has a custom shutdown script that should cleanly shutdown the array. Upon installation it will: load the vmblock, vmhgfs, vmsync, vmci and vsock modules Load the vmxnet3 module, and if it find a vmxnet3 interface, activate it (pre 5.0rc2 only) If there are no vmxnet3 interfaces, load the vmxnet module start vmtoolsd enable time sync from the host. There are two possible ways to install this: For unRAID 5.0b11 an later use the put the .plg file /config/plugins on your flash drive. See the beta-11 release announcement for more information: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=14664.0 For all version of unRAID, put the .tgz file in /extra on you flashdrive - Since unRAID now includes the VMXNET3 drive; this method is no longer recommend for version 5 (but still for 4.7). 7. Upgraded to 5.0b5b and successfully upgraded my 80Gb disk to a 160Gb. Then Created a new Share called Anime, but did not write to it. Now I have upgraded to 5.0b6 and wrote to the share. Two things happened: 1. Got out of disk space error while writing. 2. Get an access denied error when I try to open any folder in the Share. Before writing, Disk 1 have 100Gb free, Disk 2 had 33Gb free. The Share was configured as: Alloc Method: High-water Min Free Space: 0 Split level: 2 Export: Yes Security: Public I mounted the share from a Linux server (mnt //192.168.99.99/Anime /mnt/temp) and started copying 120Gb of Anime files too it. The Files are in this structure: <Series Name>/Season <x>/Episode.mkv After 100Gb copes, disk full error. Try to continue copying, same disk full error. From my Windows 7 PC, I tried to Browse the Anime share, and it gives an error: "You do not have permission to access \\MEDIASERVBER1\Anime\Cowboy Bebop" Trying from the disk1 share give the same error: "You do not have permission to access \\MEDIASERVBER1\disk1\Anime\Cowboy Bebop" ls -la /mnt/disk1/Anime drwxrwx--- 3 root root 264 2009-04-23 04:15 Cowboy\ Bebop/ ... 8. In my test machine, I had 2 80Gb disks, and 2 160Gb disks. The array was made with a 160Gb parity, and 2 80Gb for disk1 and disk2: I stopped the array and changed disk1 to a 160Gb: After I his start again. There is no disk1 in the list. The disk1 share is created and exported via smb. There is only one share exported which hada data on both disks. At the moment, the share only shows what was on the second disk. Parity check is running now... UPDATE: Completed. Syslog: http://pastebin.com/HmFMUr34

  11. Same problem. emhttp does not start on boot. Trying to start it manually produces a Segmentation fault.
