  1. Thanks for the informative reply. I just read up on Preclear tonight as it happens and am in the process of prepping 3 drives... while my array is still up. Nice!
  2. Ah, it must have been when it was building the parity. Thanks. I feel better now... What does the clearing actually do then? My guess would be there are two benefits: 1. You get to exercise the drive by writing/reading to/from every sector on the drive. 2. By writing zeros, once done clearing, the parity doesn't need to be changed because of the zero-state of the drive. Is that essentially it?
  3. I just recently built my unRaid machine. I started with one parity drive and two data drives. Because I was new to all of this, I wasn't really sure what I was doing, but proceeded methodically and slowly. I seem to recall only having to wait once for a very long time while unRaid did its thing. Looking back I assume it was when it was clearing. But how come I only remember one such long wait. Why not a second time while it cleared the second data drive? Did it clear both at the same time? Finally, regardless of what happened originally, is my array healthy? I have since checked the parity, and it found no errors. Am I good to go?
  4. Fantastic. Just what I was after. And I'll try the same thing with delugevpn...
  5. I have a weird problem with the emby server. After installation, I cannot load the web gui. It partially loads the startup wizard and gets to the language selection, but there are no languages to select. Also, clicking on the user icon in the upper right corner show that the user "null" is logged in, and there is a Sign Out button, but clicking on it doesn't seem to do anything... I can't move any further in the setup process... [sOLVED] I guess the Privileged box is supposed to be checked. For some reason it wasn't. I am positive I didn't uncheck it manually... Now that it is checked, no problems.
  6. I may be wrong, but I know binhex's delugeVPN has a "killswitch" if the VPN isn't up, no traffic is allowed to pass. Can't imagine the sabnzbd container would be any different... That would be great! Hopefully binhex can confirm...
  7. Is there a way for me to check to see if sabnzbdvpn is in fact using the vpn tunnel?
  8. I have been running the Nylas N1 email client for a while now and am loving it. https://www.nylas.com/N1/ But, unfortunately, by default, N1 points to the Nylas hosted version of the Nylas Sync Engine. This means that your email sits on the servers at Nylas and is synced to your N1 client. They do say that they take security and privacy seriously, but the Sync Engine is open source and you can run it yourself. This would seem to me to be the perfect application for a Docker container. Here is a link to the Nylas Sync Engine github page: https://github.com/nylas/sync-engine Also, it looks like someone has already started work on a Docker container: https://github.com/nylas/sync-engine-docker/commits?author=grinich
