Kernel Panic - But Why?
@itimpi most enterprise system do it already. Unraid is kinda headed down a similar path, maybe focused more on SMB though. I personally would have found it useful when my server wouldn't boot last fall, as I could have pulled logs then. I don't want to write to USB because I can't risk it dying right now. Money is super tight and I'm running on a 10+ year old license. I've heard that after so many replacements, limetech won't refresh the usb guid. Which is fine, they have bills and payroll to make, I get it.

Kernel Panic - But Why?
@itimpiIt would be nice to be able to do a csv option for multiple log servers.

Kernel Panic - But Why?
@itimpi I have two unraid servers, what would be better, point it to itself or to the second system?
-
Kernel Panic - But Why?
@JorgeB I have it enabled, I thought the system would roll that up too. Except it's not using the syslog server. The directory is empty.

Kernel Panic - But Why?
Came home to a kernel panic. Really starting to hate Intel for doing me dirty on the 14th gen. unraid1-diagnostics-20250410-2243.zip

Migration
There is a new slider for making a vm migrateable, how does this work? How can I migrate a vm from one server to another?

[Support] Linuxserver.io - Nextcloud
Yet Postgres doesn't just work, it works BETTER.

[Support] Linuxserver.io - Nextcloud
I had all kinds of issues with next cloud using MariaDB. I happened to have the PG16-Vector database running, so I threw yet another NC install against that. It's been stable since November. Give that a whirl. I used Adminer to setup the DB in the PG application for NC.

Move all Process runs to the Backend
Currently when you run "Docker Updates" and "Docker Safe New Permissions" it's run in the front end. These should be moved to the backend to enable the system to run those processes without me having to watch them. My array is quite large and this takes a long time. Add that the applications are quite large and the updates can take 20 minutes or more when run. I want the update to run and to be able to check it on a monitoring page, not for it to run in the foreground.

Live Migration/vMotion
This does require shared storage, but that is easily configurable with a centralized server and the unassigned drives plugin.
-
Live Migration/vMotion
Live VM Migration is available in KVM and has been since 2016. I'm running multiple servers at this point and would like the ability to migrate services between servers.

Drop the USB requirement
Given the new licensing schema, I would like to ask that the requirement to use a USB device be dropped. They are at size parity with SSD's and I would love to be able to boot properly on my Asus MOBO without issue.

Transcode error - Unraid 7.0.0-rc2
I am getting this error when trying to transcode a video through Plex. this appears to be new with 7. I will provide plex logs in a DM with unraid staff only. Codecs: hardware transcoding: opening hw device failed - probably not supported by this system, error: Generic error in an external library I am running different plex container makers and NVidia GPU's binhex with a 3090 on unraid 1 LSIO with a Quadro P2200 on unraid2 both systems are on unraid 7.0.0.-rc2 unraid1-diagnostics-20250104-1601.zip unraid2-diagnostics-20250104-1600.zip

[Support] Mainfrezzer - Docker Repo
Concerning the unbound, doesn't adguard have the ability to do DOH/DOT without it? Whats the use case advantage to Unbound?

[Plugin] Tailscale
I'm looking at dropping my published domain and switching to tailscale, but I'm not happy with the required use of an OAuth provider. I don't want any of my authentication tied to one of the big tech companies. I'm really trying to figure out the value of a solution that's supposed to provide a measure of privacy and security...that requires me to authenticate using companies that have time and again showed us they cannot be trusted. I would be more accepting of using unraid.net as my authenticator, but regardless, I'm not happy about it.

Would you be willing to publish this to fdroid?

SpaceInvaderOne Video Series Request: Migrating hosts
That is setup, what if I have an existing implementation that I want to move?

SpaceInvaderOne Video Series Request: Migrating hosts
I don't know where to make this, so I figured here was as good a place as any. I would love to see a video series on migrating applications from one server to another. Specifically things like Immich and NextCloud.

[Plugin] unRAID Replication
I run two unraid servers (though I have three licenses) and run two adguard servers with adguard homesync between them. it seems to work fine. The more we talk about this the more un-nessecary it feels to do this leg work...the data is replicated and I can manually recover.

[Plugin] unRAID Replication
I just got my hands on the hpe gen10 servers and so I will not be running into these issues anytime soon I don’t think. That being said, I want to use these services to start replacing iCloud functions and if one system is down fail over and fail back would be much more useful than a manual restore and backup, but not critically so.
