  1. I use the CX500 without issues, but many here recommend avoiding the CX line for server use. They're really cheap for a reason.
  2. What a stupid name. "Mainstream hard drive" as opposed to what?
  3. use MyMain :-) The problem is that other things are broken because of it, but mostly the temperature related plugins. I can't find anything in the syslog that jumps out, though I don't really know what to look for. PasteBin Syslog This is the error: smartctl -a -d ata /dev/sde smartctl 5.40 2010-10-16 r3189 [i486-slackware-linux-gnu] (local build) Copyright (C) 2002-10 by Bruce Allen, http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net Smartctl: Device Read Identity Failed (not an ATA/ATAPI device) A mandatory SMART command failed: exiting. To continue, add one or more '-T permissive' options.
  4. Most people here know you can buy these things all day long on ebay for $95 shipped and another $10 shipped for a bracket. $120 without bracket is way too much. I think $100 shipped is fair since it's flashed, but no bracket is included.
  5. I'm still not able to pull SMART reports even after upgrading to the latest unMENU version. MyMain SMART reports work fine. Ideas?
  6. I'm seeing these updates for UnMenu, but they won't install. 7. That's the first thing I did and still had the problem. Do changes take affect after a reboot? I did reload UnMenu to no avail. I'll reboot later to see if that fixed it.
  8. So just to follow up, I was able to flash the m1115 card to IT mode and move all the existing drives to the m1115 and everything is working well it seems. Also, I've run 6 parity checks overnight and NO ERRORS on any of them! ;D Now I just need to get sleep working and SMART data to pass from the drives and I'll be good to go. If anyone wants to help, the temp question is here. Sleep question here.
  9. I'm waiting for it to go back down to $150 at Amazon.
  10. It sleeps fine and seems to wake up fine as well. I'll still have to do more testing to be sure though.
  11. Is Dynamix similar to UnMenu? Can I run both at the same time? I found a sleep script floating around, would that accomplish the same thing without having to install Dynamix??
  12. He didn't get your permission? I wasn't aware of that. Will the exclude option exclude only top-level Dirs or will it exclude sub-Dirs?
  13. Oh, you can only cache top level directories? Is there any way to alter the code to search down the tree?
  14. I want to cache the Movies directory, but it seems like it's not doing that. Isn't it supposed to list the cached directories after it posts the version? Do I need to specify which Dirs to exclude if I'm entering included Dirs? 15. Yup, I just couldn't find a version or revision number anywhere, thanks for posting yours to compare.
  16. What exactly does Carabolic's script do? I'm able to sleep the server with the "echo -n mem > /sys/power/state" command and wake via magic packet, but I don't like putting the server to sleep without first making sure nothing is running or being accessed, and I'd like the drives to be spun down before the server goes to sleep. Is this possible? I'm on 5.0 Final.
  17. Ok, how do I get the system working with the newer SAS card (m1115 flashed to IT mode)?
  18. Sleep is not included in the limetech unraid release. All sleep functions are third party add on features. The reason given for this is the huge variety of hardware that it is possible to use stock unraid with doesn't all support sleep the same way, so waking from a sleep state is hit or miss depending on which of hundreds of possible motherboards is in use. Ok, can you point me to some 3rd party add-ons? I'm running UnMenu which has a button for sleep, but it says the file to sleep doesn't exist.
  19. Ahh, I see that now. What is the current version of MyMain? I couldn't find it listed anywhere except for the 4-10-11 date in the About section.
  20. When I run the first one I get a SMART temp output. When I run the second one nothing happens. Why might that be?
  21. How do I do that? Look at graphics in this post. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=31069.msg280379#msg280379 Below it is the .awk file that should allow it to work for everything else in unMenu. Awesome, thanks. Again
  22. This seems so basic, but I can't find any functionality to do this. The Sleep button in UnMenu Scripts does nothing as the ACPI sleep file is not found. I'm on 5.0 final, specs are in my sig.
