  1. There any difference between binhex-krusader or krusader? Which is better? What's the difference between the two?
  2. Is the parity drive udated everytime one puts new files on the unraid drives? Just trying to understand what the minimum amount of parity checks one would need to do. Also what does it mean when a partiy check fails?
  3. This is helpful. Was getting confused on creating folders on a disk and creating share. I have a torrent client which download torrents to "/mnt/cache/Cache/Torrents/". Am I understanding correctly that one has to create the file share first. Then setup the delugevpn docker to use the share path? Instead of doing it in reverse where one creates the folder then tries to link a share to it? Also there a way to create a share that is not in the root folder of the cache-disk?
  4. Hi I'd like to read/write subtitles for videos on a specific folder on the cache drive. How do I make a folder on the cache drive visible in the network, and its permissions be read/write access? Can I disable disk sharing yet still have this folder available?
  5. So, I'm suppose to specify which disk I wan to copy from my cache-drive? What if the disk in question does not have the user-share (folders) on it? I.e. Movie folder/share? Do I create the folder name then copy the file from the cache-share?
  6. Very useful. I have a cache drive. I usually copy a drive-share to a user-share. Is that proper? Or there a better way to copy files? Though if I copy from a drive share to a user share, unraid will decide on which drive to put the files. Any of the file transfer tools you mentioned have a GUI?
  7. It's been a while here, and also considering a hardware upgrade. Do you have to label the drives and boot/order then in a specific order in the new system?
  8. I have an older MB Asus P5BE it has three PCIe x1 Slot. Currently running two 4GB drives in it and they work. I don't know if an 8 GB would work, slowly looking at move storage. Would any of these expansion cards work with my MB? Would be nice to use the SATA III speeds. What is the bottleneck in an older system anyway? Would it always be network speeds?
  9. Thanks Squid. What do you use for music management? I have a MacBook pro, and want to also sync playlists to my android phone. Anything you can recommend?
  10. Hi Folks, I'm running unRaid 6.3.2. I've changed the iTunes media folder location option to point to my music folder on the unRaid server. Click "OK" and nothing happens in iTunes, am I missing something? How do you make it scan? Cheers,
  11. the mp3tag software actually worked it just took a while for some reason. Now I need to figure out how to the itunes to automatically rescan library after a change to file has been detected, .
  12. Hi Folks, I'm trying to organize my mp3 collection which resides on unRaid. The issue is I'm not able to edit the mp3 tags from a windows mp3tag software or media-monkey running on virutalbox or from itunes running on OSX. I can delete the files from folder-explorer or finder. So I do have access to the files but from media software I'm unable to edit the tags. Any ides?
  13. Hi Folks, What do you all use to backup sensitive, such as photos and documents? I thought attaching a USB drive directly to the server and simply copying the necessary files using Unassigned Devices Plugin. https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=45807.0. From what I understand it be a manual process of selecting and copying the files using Midnight Commander. But is there a backup tool in unraid which will keep track of my selected files and make a backup copy when scheduled or instructed? Regards, Razz
  14. Okay thank you, I'll stop doing that. So I assume "user" is where the shares live. Than what is "user0" referencing to? Is it just corrupt files when copying incorrectly or can you cause damage the entire array?
  15. Hi Folks, I've been copying files from my flash cache drive to user shares so far with no issues. Read some warning it is not advisable to copy from disk to share and vice versa. I've been copying/moving files from: /mnt/cache/ to: /mnt/user/Media Is this a safe thing to do? I assume "/mnt/user/Media" is still considered a disk copy and not a share. Where are the "shares" actually located?
