  1. I'm trying to cut down... I didn't know that it would be outside of the forum. Thanks, I will take more advantage of that.
  2. I will be moving my data from an old 4.7 box to a new 6.4 machine. I searched for "unassigned devices plugin" and I am not coming up with anything. Is it out there?
  3. I may have some old posts on this that I can't find and was not able to resolve many moons ago but I need to do something now. [ I found my old posts. garycase recommends to prepare a different flash drive with the v5 download. Not sure I can get that anymore but would that be a viable solution for now?] I cannot upgrade to v6 as this box is not 64bit, though, I plan to use a 64bit box to transfer everything over once I know what I am doing. I think I want to get the 4.7 box up and running...or can I just pull data off the drives? First, I tried to copy over everything to a new flash drive hoping that might work but I don't think it is that simple with 4.7. I am not sure how to create a new flash drive using the info from the old one, if someone could send me the thread. Second, I started the box with the original flash drive and it looks good until the bzroot finishes loading, then it says ready on the console, and then the whole box reboots to post and goes through the cycle over and over. Maybe thats an easy fix? If so, I will try to repair the 4.7 box. If not, what are my options. Thank you community! Camel
  4. You all are amazing in several ways. Kudos for running such a tight ship. One of the many things I love about this whole community!! Btw, how do I edit title to include 'solved'?
  5. [SOLVED] - Thank you johnnie.black Update: I replaced the USB flash drive. From the old flash that had upgraded files (6.0-rc3 to 6.4) I copied over the config folder and the syslinux folder. From the folder "previous" bzimage, bzroot, make_bootable.bat, and license.txt ( I don't know if this was necessary - the make_bootable.bat was to make the new flash drive unraid boot). I had to register the new flash drive which was very easy to do in the gui. All the disks are in correct order except it looks like I may have one disk that may have removed since there is a space for "not installed 2TB" so naturally the parity status says "invalid" I have not started the array yet and still have 6.0-rc3 installed. I will wait until everything looks good, make a proper backup of the flash drive then do the upgrade to 6.4 Thanks!! Camel
  6. Well... My machine boots but now there is no unraid os at all, black screen. I will try another new usb stick. But, how do I do a total reconstruction of this? I have a screen shot of my drive config/order plus I was wanting to replace my parity drive with a larger drive, can I use a 5 TB drive? I will do one project at a time and save those questions for later. Where do I look for the correct information to reconstruct or start over with building the usb drive? Can I down load unraid 6.4 and use the super.dat with the files for the rebuild? I think the real problem is that I do not have a good back up. As I said, I think I might have pulled the backup without the array stopped and then stopped it but I had just done the upgrade. I can do the key registration for the new usb after I get this all squared away, I don't need to have that intact for the os to start right? Clearly, I was careless, now I will have to get through this and I so appreciate any help you all can give me. Its kind of like getting lost when you're driving but once you find out where you are you have learned more about your surroundings. I don't drive like that anymore, I study the directions. Just trying to make myself feel better with an anecdote.
  7. okay, did the reboot. The dashboard says I have version 6.43.0, array is stopped, but that's it. Nothing appears in the window (see attached). I also went to the console and there it says: sh: /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.docker.manager/scripts/dockconfig.php: No Such file or directory sh: /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.vm.manager/scripts/libvirtconfig.oho: No such file or directory I found a thread with some of this info but it doesn't seem like it would help me. The boot dir has several fsck000?.rec files and I see all the appropriates folders and files along with "previous". Can you point me in the right direction? Should I just replace the super.dat with the original? Thanks! Camel
  8. I did want to backup the flash before updating but I think I ended up copying the flash over to my external drive with the array running and after I hit the upgrade tab in the plugins where I had 6.0-rc3 which is now 6.4 and waiting for me to reboot. I have pulled over a copy of the flash with the array stopped now but still have not restarted the unraid box. Can I look within the config folder to see what the state of the array was/is? Can I try to use the flash files I have and test it on another box to see what comes up? Is there a way to downgrade or reverse my actions? Or am I over analyzing this...and I should just reboot? Thanks!
  9. Should it okay even after the update from 6.0-rc3 to 6.4?
  10. Wow, things have changed... I just fired up my unraid server which had been sleeping for a long time because of many personal changes/challenges, moving from NY to TX being one of them. Gladly, I will be spending more time getting back to my build, its been a while. More to the point, I am sitting here after reading about upgrading from 6.x to 6.4 and I have done almost everything suggested, I hope. I have copies of the flash drive but I don't know if I copied them with the array stopped. I upgraded at the plugins tab. No issues throughout the upgrade. Now I need to reboot, however, I do not know if I should do that given that I had the array running while upgrading and not knowing if I got the flash files copied without the array running. How can I check this? Do I need to do anything before I reboot before I do so? I don't want to mess up the drive(s) integrity. Hopefully I can just reboot but I wanted to see what "y'all" could advise me. Thanks so much, Camel
  11. I have to follow this up. It is happening again. Can't login from any computer with any user/admin credentials--although, one of my backup programs tests one of the user logins as successful but I can't login via browser with the same credentials. Now the only way I can log in is to use the root/pw. Is there something that I can do to keep this at bay? Why is this happening again? Any thoughts? Thank you Camel
  12. Thank you so much. All is well again! On to my next challenge. I am so grateful for a well oiled and professional forum team. All the best, Camel
  13. Hi Folks, I have never encountered an issue like this and I hope there is an easy solution. I tried different browsers and they all come up with a sign on window that asks me for my credentials. I have not been able to login to my tower with any of the user or administrative credentials I created. Where/how do I start to diagnose this? Can I go into my flash drive on another machine to add another admin profile? I had noticed at one point that none of my accounts would log me in except for the admin account. Then the admin account wouldn't work - not on the console or telnet. Come to think of it, I am pretty sure this happened since upgrading unraid from 6-12 to the only upgrade available (which I don't remember) in one of the settings or utilities tabs. I have not been in this machine much because this server just keeps doing its thing. I love it. But now I am not sure what to do. How can I extract info from the flash drive? Thanks, Camel
  14. It was a good idea to clean up everything. Thought there might of been a loose power cable on the parity drive but it was fine. Took everything apart cleaned it up nicely including new thermal paste on the processor. Did a memory test that finished fine, I am still at the same place, same screen. Any other ideas? Thanks, Camel
  15. I assume that I can get 4.7 support here , I did not see where else to post for support. I will gladly upgrade to 5 once I get this server up and running. This server has been running for years with no issues. I went away on vacation for a month and decided to shut down my server since no data was to be used or exchanged. Upon starting it up everything seemed to be a normal boot process of the bzimage and bzroot, except when it reached a point where it stoped with a call trace. Please see attachment. Not sure what my next step is. Can someone please assist me with troubleshooting? Much appreciated! Camel
