  1. Oh great! My misunderstanding then. Thank you. I'll tune the fans down in that case. Room temp here almost never goes above 20 C so should be absolutely fine! Thanks again for a very useful plugin and advice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks. The drive temperatures are ok and stay ok in a parity check. It's just the mb temp that's a bit over 40. So if anything need to improve airflow over the mobo rather than the disks. Edit: I'm just conscious of the asrock website quoting an operating temperature of up to 35 C and non operating temperature of above 40 C. It is virtually impossible to keep the mb and CPU temp below 35 C without a jet engine blowing across it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Have successfully got this working on the asrock c2750, same mobo as dmacias I think. I updated the firmware of both bmc and efi to latest, but had trouble getting temperature readings. I had to reset the bmc to factory default to get it to be sensible! Thanks! I seem to be able to get sensible CPU temps, but quite high mb temps 40-45 unless the fans are cranked up high. Any tips? Same DS380 case. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I had a 2Tb drive which was mounted with unassigned devices which showed some smart warnings. It was on a possibly dodgy Marvell controller, so I swapped it to a new LSI controller and precleared three times. Here is the report: == Disk /dev/sdb has been successfully precleared == with a starting sector of 64 ============================================================================ ** Changed attributes in files: /tmp/smart_start_sdb /tmp/smart_finish_sdb ATTRIBUTE NEW_VAL OLD_VAL FAILURE_THRESHOLD STATUS RAW_VALUE Seek_Error_Rate = 100 200 0 ok 0 Temperature_Celsius = 122 124 0 ok 28 No SMART attributes are FAILING_NOW 5 sectors were pending re-allocation before the start of the preclear. 5 sectors were pending re-allocation after pre-read in cycle 1 of 3. 0 sectors were pending re-allocation after zero of disk in cycle 1 of 3. 0 sectors were pending re-allocation after post-read in cycle 1 of 3. 0 sectors were pending re-allocation after zero of disk in cycle 2 of 3. 0 sectors were pending re-allocation after post-read in cycle 2 of 3. 0 sectors were pending re-allocation after zero of disk in cycle 3 of 3. 0 sectors are pending re-allocation at the end of the preclear, a change of -5 in the number of sectors pending re-allocation. 1 sector had been re-allocated before the start of the preclear. 1 sector is re-allocated at the end of the preclear, the number of sectors re-allocated did not change. Is this disk ok? Was it the dodgy controller or is the disk dubious? V
  5. Can I ask? I'm still getting used to Unraid... If disk1 had the errors then why not rebuild disk1 from parity (and the rest) rather than just write corrections to parity. I'm trying to get my head around the logic. If disk1 showed the errors then hasn't write corrections to parity just compounded the errors on disk1 so that the 127 errors are now not recoverable? How do you know that disk1 or parity is the wrong or right data? V Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Great. Thanks. I'll suck it and see over the weekend. See what happens to my sata drives with a preclear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. With out the bios you get a faster boot. I always flash the bios too. I want to see it list the drives connected when it boots. I don't mind the longer boot time. Thanks BobPhoenix! Now just to see if anyone is running 20.00.07.00. I don't want to be the guinea pig Edit: Guess I will be! I just flashed the card to 20.00.07.00. I'll be building my new server next week so I'll update this thread once it's up and running. In same boat! Just flashed to latest p20 but haven't installed yet. Should I reflash to an earlier firmware or just suck it and see? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I mounted a mac drive connected directly via sata. It mounted ok, but I ran into trouble with errors by doing lots of renaming, deleting and changing permissions (newperms) on the drive. I'm not sure if the drive was corrupt to begin with or whether my extensive I/o on the drive caused the problems. I'll copy the data via smb in future!
  9. I seem to lose the \\tower quite a lot too. Seems random. But \\xx.xx.xx.xx *always* works so I just use that instead.
  10. I have same problem. I don't have a cache drive. Thus options are boot flash drive or array. Which is suggested? Will the plugin keep the array disc spinning or is it a one time settings load? Thanks
  11. Fuser shows that chown has files open, but I can't kill the PID or do a fuser -km to close the file.
  12. Hi. I've hit a slight snag. Here is what I'm trying to do: I have an old off-site grandfather backup copy of a Mac disc that I'm trying to pick out useful things off like image files and copy to the array. Files that are copied and checksum verified are then deleted from the disk. The disc is hfsplus. Initially it mounted fine in the plugin, but I got into trouble with permissions and some files couldn't be copied or deleted off it. So I ran newperms on it, just on the hfs disk. Now here's the problem. There are multiple file system errors on the console. Recoff XXX too large. The disk won't unmount with 5 open files listed (nothing other than newperms should be accessing the disk now). So, is there a way to force unmount it? I'm guessing the file system has been corrupted by running newperms on it. My priority now is to protect my array and do a clean shutdown, but not sure if it will be possible if the hfsplus disk won't unmount. The disk is actually currently still readable even with the errors and being unable to unmount. Thanks for any help.
  13. Would love a duplicate finder docker.
  14. I have this one with 6 drives on the Intel controller. Had some issues with the Marvell controller but not sure if I will ever need them. My UPS reports about 22-24W on idle! I haven't got S3 sleep set because not all the devices I use with it has WOL capability. So power consumption is great. I have found it runs quite hot with too low an airflow and the rated operating temperature according to Asrock is only up to 40C. But with a low rpm fan directly blowing on it it is fine.
  15. I think I had to delete container and image or whatever the option is when it pops up. Deleting the container only didn't quite fix it.
  16. I'm having trouble installing the easyrsa package. Has the download changed since the official release a fortnight ago? Seems to fail to download the package for me. Update: sorry my bad. Was trying to use v6.1 plugin on v6.0. Now all fine.
  17. I have a disk mounted with unassigned devices which contains a lot of duplicate files which I would like to weed out. I found a good script here http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=7018.msg68073#msg68073 from Joe L. How would I modify this script to just run on one drive in /mnt/disks/ ?
  18. Yes. Tried ie on win 8.1 and safari on Mac. Also tried direct rdp. All the same!
  19. Thanks for the docker. I can't seem to input any text. Mouse works fine but any keyboard input is lost.
  20. I had a case of disappearing drives whilst preclearing whilst connected to a Marvell controller. Switch to Intel and all well. Did 4 cycles just to be sure. No issues since, done 4 parity checks since then without problem.
  21. Why would you want to mount an ISO? Makemkv opens iso files. Oh fab. Thanks.
  22. Hi. I'm new to Unraid having just done first build. I have a c2750d4i motherboard which has this SE9230 Marvell controller in it. I found it dropped discs under heavy load, in my case plex activity and simultaneous preclear of Drive. There's some stuff on it in a c2750/c2550 thread where there is apparently a Linux bug in the drivers. I have to admit that I haven't checked to see if a driver update is available, I just swapped to the Intel sata ports and all is now well. So for the moment I am steering well clear of the Marvell one. Your mileage may vary. There is also a virtualisation problem with the Marvell chips so you may need to turn off IOMMU /virtualisation to make it work. Again I haven't tested this since I'm new to all this! This is in another thread here.
