Just thought I would share my journey with you all as I upgrade my tower. I was using a factual design case (Sorry I can remember the model) which gave me room for my cooling + my 10 HDD. Wasnt much room for expanding in the case so a little while ago I bought a new case which up until we went into lockdown ( Thanks Covid ) I simply didnt have the time to move everything from 1 case to the other. The only thing I have added in the move is the 3 drive bays. Everything else was just a case swap.. I now have a total of 15 drives supported with room to expand out to 23 drives before I have to get creative with my drive placements but due to the sheer size of the case I could get up to 30 drives if I need to. The case I used is the Thermaltake WP100. This case stands at 820mm high and 310mm wide. This case is so big it comes with caster wheels. It currently has 2 x 360mm radiators in the bottom with room the expand to go thicker and longer if I needed more cooling. Side note the system of choice is a Threadripper 2920X, a water cooled 980TI and a 1080TI. Idle temp on the CPU is around 28 degrees and the GPU's sit at about 27 degrees with my daily VM running 24/7. Enjoy the small amount of photos I took as I was building and feel free to post any questions or comments.

I did a cache drive change over today. When I rebooted my system it automatically assigned my unassigned device to the cache pool and set the file system to btrfs. Once I saw that I stopped the array, assigned the correct SSD to the cache pool and restarted the array. The only problem now is the unassigned device fs shows as btrfs instead of xfs. The bigger problem I have is it has my VM on it. Is there a fix for this as I um currently unable to mount the unassigned device? Or have I lost everything on this drive? If its the later how do I change the file system to xfs again? Thanks for your help.

I found this docker to be rather easy to install. Only problem I have is some aspects of firefly will require a cron job which is way out of my element. Are you able to help me in the right direction as I have zero idea about cronjobs. Regards

I had a look at the post you reference. Im a little confused on - Click on Shares and change to "Yes" all cache shares with "Use cache disk:" set to "Only" or "Prefer" So in my case I would change the following from : appdata Only : Cache To appdata Yes : Prefer Is that right?

Hi all I currently have three SSD's in a pool as my cache drives for a total of 870GB of cache. I am in the process of moving my setup to a new case and would like use a 1TB SSD as my cache driver instead of three drivers as picture in the attachment. I have 1 VM as well as the appdata for all my dockers. What is the easiest and most pain free way to replace the drives. Little bit of a noob when it comes to all things linux based. Any help would be great. Cheers

I think I have narrowed it down to : https://www.icydock.com/goods.php?id=175 or https://www.icydock.com/goods.php?id=155 I think the second one being 5 drives "May" have more of an issue with heat than the first. Thoughts?

Im thinking about getting a few HDD cages but as this thread hasnt been active since early last year I thought I would try here first.. Looking for either 4 x 3 1/2 or 5 x 3 1/2 but want something that is going to have good HDD cooling thats not going to break the bank. I was looking at the black vortex but saw that it only has bottom mounting points to screw into the case which isnt ideal if your going to have 3 of them fully loaded with drives.... the sag due to being bottom mounted only doesnt appeal. So anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

I would do a screen shot but I havent worked out how to screen shot with a Mac yet lol Below is what is appended to my syslinux.cfg And cat /boot/config/vfio-pci.cfg

I was using the above mentioned plugin on 6.8+ and had not till today had a chance to update to 6.9 So did the update checks which told me the above plugin isnt supported in 6.9... so no problems... removed the plugin and then did another check which told me im good to go. Im now in 6.9 but get a warning in "fix common problems". Anyone know how to fix this issue? When i look at the flash drive I can see in /boot/config that there is a vfio-pci.cfg in there. Is it as simple as deleting that cfg? Or is it more involved than that? Cheers in advance.

It sounds almost like the heads are stuck. There arent any funny settings in bios that I would need to check are there?

I bought a pair of 6TB ironwolf drives that I cant seem to get the motherboard to see let alone Unraid. I have tried more PSU's I can throw a stick at as well as SATA cables and SATA ports. For the record I am running a 2nd Gen Threadripper CPU. If I plug the drive in with power and sata it doesnt get past the post screen if I plug the drive in with only power it gets past the post screen. Drive just makes an odd sound which may lead me to believe it is a bad driver ( Brand new) but I bought two of them and they both do the same thing. If you list to the video carefully you can hear the sound it makes. Anyone have any ideas?

Excellent app and tutorial. One question I have in relation to the "First time boot" I eventually want to pass my video card through. I know with Windows it doesnt matter if you go from using VNC to adding a video card later as it will simply detect new hardware. Whats the process for this OS. I have a Mac book but you cant very well replace parts on those things so I dont know how the OS handles that. Also the fix common problems app came up with an error "Docker application MacinaBox has volumes being passed that are mounted by Unassigned Devices, but they are not mounted with the slave option" something to be concerned about?

I currently have the below setup for my passthrough. So my question is two fold. If I use this plugin I can only assume I will not need to have them included in this line. Would that be correct? Second question would be beside it being easier to use this plugin what other advantages does it have? Cheers
