I've been running the official Plex server docker for a few months now and have had no issues, however for the past few weeks I've been unable to connect to the WebUI, either through the docker tab or by going to https://plex.mysite.com, as I either get a cloudflare "bad gateway" error, or simple "this page isn't working" error when loading through Unraids docker tab, however the server is still 'up' as I can watch all off my media through Plex.tv. Ideally I do not want to be doing this as I'd rather not run through their servers, and instead want to keep it local / accessable through my own URL. Does anyone else have this issue? Does anyone know how to resolve? TIA

Currently we have two Windows devices in the house, a gaming PC and a low-end laptop for browsing, etc. We're building a new gaming PC soon for our eldests 9th birthday and want to be able to sync the users shared folders across devices, i.e. My Network folders (Docs, Pictures, etc.) Partners folder (Docs, Pictures) Childs folder (Homework). Is there an easy way to do this, which does not require manually logging in to each user account on each device to set up and map the folders? We would also like to keep each mapped folder private if possible and have it act as a network location. All devices have windows pro, but I don't really want the hassle of setting up active directory and the learning curve that takes, for a home enviroment. Thanks

I'm currently trying to install a PCI-e to NVME M.2 riser, however whenever I do I get the below error, preventing me from using this device to add a second NVME. It also makes all of my drives disapear from the Main screen, and also prevents me from running any functions such as parity check. I was also getting a similar issue when adding a PCI-e SATA extender. Any ideas what could be causing this? Ahh right, so it is. Thank you. I had 5 working drives. One 10TB parity, one 10TB storage and two 4TB storage drives, along with one 250GB SSD cache. The issues occured when I tried to add two new 1TB NVMe SSD's to the cache, which then bricked my config on reboot. I'll take another look at the link now re: identifying the parity, thanks. Would I also need to copy the "shares" folder from the old config to my new one, or is that something that will pull through when setting the drives back up? Thanks for the help!

Thanks, is there any way to tell which of my two 10GB drives was the parity drive, or is it just flipping a coin? I have a partial backup of the folders, but for some reason the config folder is missing... This is what I have below. Will salvaging any of this help?

Hi. I tried transfering the config to the new usb. Same errors, suggesting the error is with the config. I cannot generate a diagnostic report due to the errors. Regarding the key, if I transfer that and activate the server will the array recover itself, or is that data now lost without the config file?

After installing two new NVME drives, and trying to configure both of them as a cache along with my current SSD, I am unable to log into the GUI. The system boots and I can see the command line showing it has booted when plugged in to my monitor. I can also PING the Unraid Box through windows, however I cannot access the GUI, nor can I connect via PuTTY. I have installed Unraid onto a new USB and that boots fine into the GUI so it is clearly a config issue on the old USB. How do I rectify this? Is there a way to transfer my shares, parity, and license to the new USB, or a way to easily undo the config change on the old USB on my windows machine? Thanks

Reviving my old topic... I moved away from using Unraid for a short while, partly due to this issue, but now I'm back and eager to fix this problem. The two new 4TB drives are fresh drives bought direct from Amazon. The other two drives were already working in the system. Since installing the 4TB drives the two 2TB drives are completely bricked. They have data on them I want to get off. I could put them in a windows machine, but surely the system would not be able to read them due to them being set up for Unraid? The other two drives are the drives which are showing as being active. How can I resolve this? Thanks

No, they're the drives I originally had in the system before adding the two new 4TB HDD's in. I run the system headless and only manage it through the web GUI. IS there a way to check this through the terminal?

I currently have 4 HDD's and 1 SSD plugged into my rig. The two 4TB HDDs show, along witht he 250GB SSD, however the other two 2TB drives do not show. I've tried installing the unassigned devices plugin, but this has not helped. My Docker folder has also disapeared meaning nothing is running; I'm unsure if this is related, or because the 4TB drives are full? I'm really struggling to pass through my AMD Vega 64 GPU to any virtual machine. I can select it as both a GPU and soundcard in the GPU settings, but when I then go to pass the card through it's not detected on both Windows 10 or Linux. So far I have; - Editted the Bus / Slot / Multifunction device info in XML view - Tried a custom ROM with the BIOS still on the card - Dumped the BIOS and tried the default BIOS and custom BIOS through the VM configuration - Changed the GPU from the top slot to the bottom slot on the MOBO. - Checked IOMMU groups (GPU and GPU Sound card are in seperate grouping) I've tried all of these in different orders and none allow me to pass the card through. What's the issue? Is it because I'm running the trial version of UNRAID? Anything else I can do to get it working?

Hey, Did you find a solution for this? I'm trying to run an AMD Vega 64 on a Windows 10 VM, similar to you above. I don't want to pass the video signal through, only the compute power, as I am only using the GPU to mine while my NAS is on, however whenever I enable VNC AND the GPU I'm unable to connect via VNC or Windows Remote Desktop, an issue I do not have when the GPU isn't set to pass through. I also get a similar issue when trying to install NiceHash OS in a Linux / Ubuntu VM template, so I suspect this is more an unRaid issue than hardware issue.

I previously had my machine running, with my AMD Vega 64 passed through. As I was having issues with one stick of my 16GB RAM I removed it, leaving me with now only 1 x 8GB. I have tried to set up a new VM (after deleting the old one) but cannot pass through my Vega 64 GPU - it doesn't even show up in the list for available GPU's. When I check System Information on Unraid I see the below, however in my machines BIOS VT-x is enabled. Any idea how to fix this? Do I need duel RAM? Thanks home-diagnostics-20210523-1408.zip

From my understanding most PSU's are most efficient around 50% load, so if you would have those three GPUs running at the same time you may want a bigger psu. If just one at a time 750w should be fine

Hi allpreviously I've ran unraid on an old HP microserver (N54 I believe) but moved away from using it due to slow speeds I've just got my old i7 7700k machine working again after figuring out it was a dodgy stick of ram preventing it from booting, So thought I would repurpose this. My plans are; Plex (and the downloaders for Plex) with 1 to 2 streams (maybe 4k) Linux VM for running a couple of GPUs to mine rather than my main PC Unifi docker for my home network General NAS duties Will 8GB of RAM be enough for the above? Or should I replace the dodgy stick of RAM taking it back to 16gb? I only have 2x2tb and a 250gb cache at the moment, but this will be growing to probably 16TB soon.

Hi I have a spare gaming PC following my upgrade to a Ryzen 7 3700X and 2080 Super earlier this year. My intention was to always turn the spare PC into an Unraid NAS, to replace my aging HP Gen 7 micro tower server that currently acts as my NAS. I am wanting to stream 4K content from Plex and therefore wanted to take advantage of the hardware acceleration feature which I believe is available on most linux / nas builds. My question is, is my spare GPU which is an AMD Vega 64 overkill for what I need it to do? I do also have an AMD R9 380x. Would this do the job? If so, does hardware acceleration work on an Unraid docker version of Plex, or am I best running plex in a windows VM and then passing the hardware through? Many thanks Scott

Yesterday we had a powercut forcing my HP N54L Microserver to power off and auto re-boot. The Server runs Unraid which I believe is a 6.4.x version or maybe newer. I updated a couple of weeks back. The Unraid server runs several dockers, two of them being my Unifi controller to adminster the network and my PiHole Adblocker / DNS. Since the powercut I've not been able to access my UnRaid GUI, SSH in via Putty or access my UniFi Controller / PiHole GUIs through the internal network, however I can access the UniFi contoller via their cloud control website when the server is turned on, with no access when the server is off. This suggest to me that there must be activity on the server (in additon to the fact I can hear drives spinning) but I'm unsure why I can only access it externally and not via http://mediaserver/ or http://10.0.0.2 as I have it set up. Below is a screenshot showing that my server and PiHole are both active according to my USG router / firewall and have had some activity on the internet. Dos anyone have any ideas how to solve this? is there a docker to run a VPN service? My cable modem router doesn't support hosting a vpn. You would still need to open ports on your modem router to access the VPN, so not sure what you mean by "not supported" If you mean that your router doesn't have VPN capability then yes you can use a docker as long as you can open the relevant ports. The other thing would be an Nginx reverse proxy with our letsencrypt container, but again you will still need to open ports. Sorry, I can open ports fine. I mean my router doesn't have the ability to act as a VPN itself, like my old DD-WRT router could.
