  1. If you have Java installed on your unRaid Server running Openfire should be possible. Just refer to the Openfire Setup guide on their website http://www.igniterealtime.org/builds/openfire/docs/latest/documentation/install-guide.html I dont thin that it should brake anything.
  2. If you cant get 1GB try switching the cable. I once bought cheap Cat 6 cabels to find out that only 6 of 8 cable where correctly connected and i searched for hours why the card would only work with 100MBit.
  3. Talking about Samba. Version 4.0 was declared stable today. Is there a possibility to get an update for unRaid?
  4. wouldnt it be possible to build a current Netatalk release with a Slackbuild script like that here? https://github.com/PhantomX/slackbuilds/tree/master/netatalk I mean that works for Samba why not for Netatalk. So we wouldnt had to wait for a new RC and so on.
  5. Simple question is if this new Version solves the issues you have with netatalk, or not. I really dont know if all the issues which appear are related to unRaid or Netatalk, because i havent used Netatalk till now on another System than unRaid? Have you?
  6. Have you tried the SSD on the Sata Ports of your Mobo? Maybe the drivers for the PCI-E Card you are using is not optimized under unRaid? What hardware do you use?
  7. I would really love to see the most recent Version of Netatalk in unRaid, but we are waiting so long now for a 5.0 final that i would like to postpone that to a 5.1 Version of unRaid, together with SSD- Cache etc. Its time that the problems with 5.0 beta's and RC's come to an end before adding new software.
  8. Hi Guys, since several beta's and rc's we are waiting for a final release of the 5.0 branch of unRaid. I just would like to know would are the actual problems of the latest RC, which prevent Tom from releasing a final Version?
  9. Problem is that unRaid is not designed (till now) for the use of SSD's. It dosn't support files systems like ext4 or the trim command. I think there was a discussion adding this in unRaid 5.1, but we dont even have a 5.0 final till now. I mean SSD have some pros like the low amount of power they need, but the reliability of the cheap consumer SSD suck I had three damaged SSD's in the last 12 months, more than i had damaged Harddisk in the past 15 years. By the way i use an old 250GB 2,5" HDD from my Macbook Pro as Cache, which at least boosts my transfer speed up to 50-60MB/s.
  10. @deadsoulz: If he had only 100Mbit the transferspeed would only be around 10MB/s, he says he has 30MB/s, so everything okay with the connection. 30MB/s is a good value for a parity protected array, like the others already said, if you need more speed you have to use a cache drive.
  11. I have two HTPC's with MediaPortal running in my Living- and Bedroom. Works great in combination with my unRaid Server holding all the media. I would have gone for XBMC, but because i am also using my HTPC's for Live TV i stuck with MediaPortal. Just got my Raspberry Pi, want to see what i can do with that using Rasbmc oder OpenElec.
  12. I will write a howto when i figured out how to get the newest DNSmasq Version running on my unraid. For everybody who cant wait, here you can see what is in my DNSmasq Config, to be honest i dont figured it out myself but it was part of a Article in a German Computer Magazine: port=0 log-dhcp enable-tftp tftp-root=/mnt/user/tftp dhcp-range=192.168.2.0,proxy pxe-prompt="Press F8 for Menu",5 pxe-service=X86PC,"Start from HDD",0 pxe-service=X86PC,"Start desinfect",ct/pxelinux It enables TFTP and sets it root directory to the user share i have created for it (in my case a cache only share). The DHCP Range needs to be adjusted to your need, also DNSmasq runs in proxy mode. Hope that helps anybody.
  13. Right now i have the same problem with emhttp, i simply cannot restart it. Good that i have unmenu installed, so i can do a clean reboot. By the way would it be possible in any way to configure the push of the on/off button of the PC so it calls the same script like e.g. unmenu does for a clean shutdown or reboot?
  14. I would guess there is something missing in the Perls installations which is required by the iplayer. Maybe it helps if you take a look here: https://code.google.com/p/get-flash-videos/issues/detail?id=253
  15. @dcoens: Unfortunately i am not the author of the unmenu package script which i have used, for me it was simply the easiest way to install DNSmasq. I really would like to make more of my unRaid Server, but to be honest, with my limited Slackware knowledge there is simply no easy way to build up a unRaid developement system. There is no simple guide to do this or a preconfigured VM that i could use. Also i didnt find any documentation of the new plugin system. Maybe someone could point me there. By the way, the unmenu way has one big advantage, it will alos work on unRaid 4.7 and not only on the 5.0 branch.
  16. I used that one here http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=17392.msg194078 Only weak point, the DNSmasq Version is a little bit old, would be cool to have a recent one, but i dont know till today how to make packages for unRaid.
  17. Thats a way to do it, but it is more complicated. When i got time i will write a small How-To. In my case i didnt need an additional TFTP Server because DNSmasq already included it. Also DNS masq works only als DHCP Proxy in my case, so the DHCP Server in your Router can stay activated. Also in my case you dont need a router running DD-WRT or something similiar.
  18. I think you havn't got an answer because there are some important info's are missing. For example whick Mainboard and NIC you use. Also a Syslog would be useful. What software are you using when you try waking up your server? Do you use the correct IP and Mac?
  19. Thanks for this nice script. It really helped my setting upmy Unraid Box as PXE Server. The DNSmasq Version in it is rather old (2.52), would it be possible to update it to a more recent version?
  20. Okay the DNSmasq Package which was provided here http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=17392 solved my problem. It has an tftp server integrated and PXE Serving works with it without any problems. Anyway the DNSmasq Version in it is a little bit outdated.
  21. Thanks for the help. I also disovered a second method which i maybe try first. Seems that DNSmasq has in integrated tftp server, which could also do the job.
  22. Hi, i want to use my Unraid Server also as PXE Server, therefor i would need a tftpd server. In older Versions of Unraid it seemed to be included althought not activated. In the 5.0-rc it seemed to be vanished for me. Do i simply search at the wrong place or is it not included in the latest 5.0 Versions? By the way, i am using 5.0-rc5-r8168
  23. Dont know why you try experimenting with editing your go file. The problem with that might be that it will not be called after a wakeup (if i recall it right). That means if your LAN adapter set it's WOL setting to d after a Sleep/Wakeup cycle you might have a problem. Simply install SimpleFeatures with the Sleep Addon, or at least look at it, because it also lets you set the desired WOL options after sleep. It hase a wide range of options regarding that.
  24. Simplest solution would be using Simplefeatures which has also rich features regarding sleep modes with exclude hours, but first i would try if the server wakes up by WOL.
