Still not enough, did you stop the parity check? You can also time how long it takes for the array to stop after you click the stop button.
Had to set timeouts to almost 3 min! but it's doing clean shutdowns now .

Hi again,
Ok, I changed timeouts for disks to 120 and VM's to 100 but still getting unclean shutdown....
latest syslog attached -

Currently set shutdown timeout is not enough, it's only 60 secs, new default is 90s, but sometimes more are needed, try 120s (Settings -> Disk settings)
Thanks, will change and see how it goes. Will feedback on results.

No, using purely for clean shutdowns....but with our "incredibly reliable" power, I don't set it to shutdown immediately when power is lost...only after a few minutes.

I don't know, are those diags from the /logs folder?
Yes they are from the flash /logs folder (after I did the Mirror syslog to flash under settings)
Those are the last 4 logs that was auto shutdown with NUT as UPS got low.
The last manual shutdown I did, everything was good and NO unclean shutdown detected. -

Look in the flash drive /logs folder, there should be diags saved there from any unclean shutdown, post the latest ones there.
Is that not the ones I included in above post?

Hi,
With the constant loadshedding in my country...no power for atleast 2 hours every 6 hours....my unRAID server is starting to have issues, and I can't pinpoint why.
Almost every automatic NUT shutdown is now seen as an unclean shutdown, where it never was an issue before. And this causes a parity check to start, that can't finish because the next power outage is max 6 hours away....
I've attached the last for diagnostic logs, with SYSLOG set to mirror to the flash drive.
I went through them, but not really know what to look for.
Thanks for the assistance.

Hi all,
I need to upgrade my disks, as I'm sitting at over 95% used now...BUT, I live in South Africa, and currently we get load-shedding every 6 hours or so.....that means no power. I have my server on a UPS for clean shutdowns.
Question is will unRAID be able to handle the constant power outages while clearing disks and doing parity rebuilds etc?
Thanks

Updated without issue. All seems to be working well, though I am seeing something I've never observed before. About every 20 seconds, one of my CPU cores (core 6 per the dashboard) maxes out for a bit. I was monitoring htop, sorting by CPU activity, but I can't seem to find a correlation. Anyone have a suggestion for how I can try to find out what is causing this intermittent core activity?
Might not be related, but, do you perhaps have Sonarr installed? I had the issue on my server for a very long time where the Sonarr container would spike one core at a time as long as it was started. It stopped after the last update though.

Hi,
I have posted in the container section, with no repsonse as yet:
But, I do believe this canbe applicable to more than just the one container....
How do I change the startup command for a specific container?
As the post above states, Sonarr is starting up with mono in debug mode....causing high CPU usage, and I'm sure if the debug is removed it will be fine....Thanks!

Sorry to dig this up again.....
Every found a solution? This is the only thread I found with my exact issue... -
Hi everyone,
I've been having a wierd issue since I started using the NVidia build to enable hardware transcoding in Plex via GPU....
When trying to stop my array, it can take almost an hour to shut everything down.... it sits at 'Array Stopping•Retry unmounting disk share(s)...' and I can even view the Log window as it's just blank.
Where can I see what is causing it, or how to enabledetailed logging for it?Got the last diagnostics attached. See some DMA write errors...?
Thanks

Yip! Spot on!
And I came here from Linus' two gamers one pc video....and hooked since then!Had to re-do my unRaid server once because I just dived in and did not really follow best practice for a few things...but once that painfull part was done, it has been smooth sailing ever since.....by following mostly SpaceInvaderOne's vids 🙂

When using the builtin upgrade (via Tools -> Update OS) the download takes FOREVER! Whereas if I just copy that exact link, and download normally, it's done in a few seconds. Does the plug-in do anything different? or where would this slow update be coming from? To get to the 28% in the attachment, it took about 8min....

you can see your load is 1.x which aligns with one of the cpus being pegged. your not showing all the processes in top.. try: top -b1
"Have you tried turning it off and on again?" ..... that fixed the usage issue.... no idea what caused it, as I ran top -b1, even that showed no process that was using enough to peg one core.... 😕 but all good again 😁

Updated from 6.7.2.
Only issue was that my Pulseway agent did not start correctly.... downloaded the newest agent version and removed symlinks from go file as per updated instructions here on the forum. After another reboot, all ok again.

Hi,
I got it working....but not with the official container...
I changed my docker to the linuxserver one.
I installed the Trakt.tv plug-in on (old) Plex, synced my watched up to Trakt.tv, installed the new linuxserver docker, installed trakt.tv and synced it down to my server again.
Now I can add it to the custom network (proxynet) or normal and it works fine!
Not the best way, but that's how I got round the problem.

Did you manage to come right, getting exactly the same issue, bad gateway
Running the plex official docker.
and with the following setting in plexsubdomain config
include /config/nginx/proxy.conf;
resolver 127.0.0.11 valid=30s;
set $upstream_plex PlexMediaServer;
proxy_pass http://192.168.0.21:32400; -
Hi,
I followed the same videos from SpaceInvaderOne... but only for Nextcloud.
I do have my own domain, and the LetsEncrypt docker is configured for all my subdomains.
Now, when trying to change my Plex Docker to work via LetsEncrypt, when changing the docker network from custom:br0 (I configured a static IP) to proxynet, it doesn't assign a IP to the docker (actually ANY other network setting doesn't provide an IP) and when trying to start it on 'proxynet', show 'server error'
Putting it back to the br0 network, with a static IP, and just changing the Letsencrypt plex.subdomain.conf file, I get '502 Bad Gateway'.
With this method, I changed the 'proxy_pass' setting to $upstream_plex and the static IP of the docker, but still same error. (and yes, restarting letsencrypt for changes to take effect)
I would prefer to keep my static IP....but if no other way, I will change.
Any ideas? or am I missing something small??

I've been usinig unRAID now for more than 2 years....
I got my server up and running with a old tower I got for free, with space for 6 drives.... so, when I bought my license, I went with the Basic one for $59.
Now I'm starting to look at expanding, maybe even add a second server.
But looking at the current pricing, if I want to upgrade to Plus or Pro, I will be paying MORE for it than if I originally bought a Plus/Pro license.
Basic $59
Plus $89
Pro $129
To upgrade from Basic to Plus is $39 (total of $98 for a Plus license)
To upgrade from Basic to Pro is $79 (total of $138 for a Pro license)
To upgrade from Plus to Pro is $49 (total of $138 for a Pro license)
Why are we being charged more for further supporting you? Or am I bad at maths here.......

8Gb....3 VM's, but only 1 active at a time, when needed.

Had the same issue, and in my case was solved by removing the 'Unassigned Devices' plug-in, changing the slots, and re-adding the plug-in.
Plex Docker no longer spinning up disks...
in General Support
Posted
Olla,
I've recently noticed that when all my disks have been spun down, and I access Plex, it does NOT spin up the drives, and shows an error in Plex when trying to browse my Library.
Only when I manually spin up a drive (any drive) does the Library's show again in Plex.
Any idea?
Thanks!
