  1. ok, I feel stupid now for not realizing this sooner. While taking a look at it a bit closer with some more testing I realized that in fact the audio is sooner than the video and not the other way around as I thought. This suggests an issue with the GUP and oh wonder when I drop the resolution down from 4k to 1080p all the lag is gone. Turns out that the gt210 isn't powerfull enough to run 4k This makes my other problem I posted here much more important. I haven't gotten a response there yet, if any of you have an idea how I can do that I would greatly appreciate it. But for this thread I want to thank everyone that helped, although the problem was something completely different than I described.
  2. Well I guess it is related to the mobo then. Also it seems like it got better with the system running for a while, might also be me getting used to it. I'll play around with it a bit more and maybe it goes away. Will post again if I have any news.
  3. So I installed the newest version of Unraid on my X99 build which is water cooled. What I want to do is have a windows VM running with the gtx 970 passed through. As x99 doesn't have on-board graphics I picked up a gt 210 as a secondary GPU. Because my system I hard-line water cooled I can't change the slot of the 970. There for it is the primary GPU. With the gt 210 passed through I get an image displayed and can use the Win 10 VM. But when I pass through the 970 I only get a black screen. I guess that has something to do with it being the primary gpu, I don't know though how I could get it to work without swapping the cards which as already said is not possible. The other hardware is a MSI X99A sli plus mobo and 5820k cpu. For now I have my windows machine running on the gt210 which is ok for web browsing but I'd like to play a game again or render a video some time which requires the 970 passed through.
  4. The 0.5 to 1seconds are a rough estimate of how long it takes when I move the mouse until the cursor on screen moves. I see the same effect when I watch a video where the audio is about .5 to 1 seconds delayed (I'm using a scarlet 2i2 usb audio interface). I have also noticed that somitimes the usb devices cut out randomly (not all at the same time) and come back a minute or so later (e.g. right now my mouse doesn't move the cursor but I can type "normally") My reasoning that it has to be the usb side and not the display is that the audio of the video would be sooner rather than later if the delay was introduced by the display. I guess that it isn't too easy to reproduce this problem on an other machine as it is by far not the only issue, just the one that is the most annoying.
  5. I am running Unraid on my x99 System with a 5820k, gtx 570 and gt 210. Now after lot's of trial and error, partly related to a dead PCI-E slot I managed to get my windows 10 vm running with GPU pass through. For some reason I couldn't get it to work with the 970 pass through but I made a separate thread for that. My main issue as the title suggests is that the USB devices I passed through to the VM all have about 0.5 to 1 second delay. This goes for keyboard mice and Audio interface. I am running in usb 2.0 mode in the advanced vm settings as usb 3.0 put out loads of error messages when I tried it. Now my question would be why there is this delay and how to fix it. Some other weird things that are happening with the pass through USB devices is that for some reason it takes a few minutes when windows boots up until they are recognized and work. I don't know if these Problems are related but it would be nice to fix this one too. And some other information I have is that when I first got the vm to boot with the pass through GPU I didn't feel any delay in the usb devices but then the vm crashed during gpu driver installation after which it took many reboots to get it working again and from then on the above mentioned problems were there. Funnily the GPU driver did install and I got the full resolution although it crashed mid installation. Thank you in advance for your help. Edit: Also I am running the newest Version of Unraid if that is important and my Mobo is the MSI X99A sli plus
  6. Thanks for your answer. I will try that plugin.
  7. Hi there I just heard about the snapshot feature on FreeNAS and really like it. Is there a way on unRAID to do basically the same thing? Because the parity disk is great in case of a drive failure but it doesn't protect you from user error. So but it would be nice to be able to have a way to recover accidentally deleted files.
  8. As he noticed in his post the tool doesn't tell you if it is good or not. For good measures I ran the repair utility too but nothing changed so I guess a bad file system is not the problem. Do you have any other Idea to solve the issue? Other ways I will probably just copy the files over to another share and delete the problematic one. (I hope this works)
  9. ok, that was easy Here is the report: Phase 1 - find and verify superblock... Phase 2 - using internal log - scan filesystem freespace and inode maps... - found root inode chunk Phase 3 - for each AG... - scan (but don't clear) agi unlinked lists... - process known inodes and perform inode discovery... - agno = 0 - agno = 1 - agno = 2 - agno = 3 - process newly discovered inodes... Phase 4 - check for duplicate blocks... - setting up duplicate extent list... - check for inodes claiming duplicate blocks... - agno = 1 - agno = 0 - agno = 3 - agno = 2 No modify flag set, skipping phase 5 Phase 6 - check inode connectivity... - traversing filesystem ... - traversal finished ... - moving disconnected inodes to lost+found ... Phase 7 - verify link counts... No modify flag set, skipping filesystem flush and exiting. According to the wiki this should be fine (if I understood correctly)
  10. The first share (the main problem) uses the cash disk and is located on disc 1. The second share (the one that is acting special) is located on the cash disc because it is used for application data. No I haven't checked the filesystem yet. How do I do that?
  11. No, I don't. I never used the Unraid command line, but if we can solve the problem that way I am happy to learn it. Do you have a link to a good instruction? Btw I noticed something really strange. When the problematic share is set to private I also don't have write permission on a completely different share that is set to public. But when I have the first share (which has nothing to do with the second one) on public I have full read/write permission on the second share.
  12. So I was just experimenting some more and got another clue. When I set the share (the one with the problematic folders) to public I don't have any problem anymore. But when I set it to private and allow only one account to have full read/write permission from unraid it doesn't work anymore, although I am connected with the account that should have read/write permission from unraid.
  13. When the mover was running so long at once I was probably copying the terrabytes of data on the array. The array also was online for over two weeks. Here is the new one: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3ml6yhdc7bm1zr7/media-diagnostics-20160307-2124.zip?dl=0
  14. because the file is to big to attach, here is a dropbox link to it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4jeoh59r89ekh92/media-diagnostics-20160307-2103.zip?dl=0
  15. It can't be a whole disc because in most folders on the same disk I don't have the problem. How do I get the diagnostics zip file?
  16. That is not the problem because everything worked on the pc and I had full access to the privat share. (just to make sure, I disconnected all shares and connected again with no change of the situation) I can still use most of the share just normal only certain sub folders of the share have the problem. (and no, I'm not talking about the window but the actual problem that I can't write in those folders)
  17. The nobody user I was talking about is on the windows side of things. The share is a privat one and I am connected to it. The thing is, that I have full read/write permission on some folders on the same share and only read permission in others.
  18. Hello everyone While I was working on my unraid 6 server and adding it to owncloud, I pretty much suddenly lost write permission on some folders in a share. When I go into the advanced security settings of that folder, nobody (unix user \nobody) is the only user that has full access. The others only have read and execution permission. (as shown in the picture) But because I am someone and not nobody I don't have permission to do anything else than reading. -> I can't create new users or modify any settings of existing ones. Is there a way to solve that issue except starting from scratch? (which I don't want to do if somehow possible)
  19. I figured it out myselve. By using smb it worked.
  20. It is the "external storage support" app inside of owncloud.
  21. Hello everyone I am fairly new to unraid and am trying to get the owncloud docker running. After lots of trial and error I managed to install it. Now I want to add my existing unraid shares to owncloud. There for I installed the external storage addon in owncloud but I am not able to add my shares. In the attached pictures you can see my mapping. My second question would be how I can fix the error that the server certificate doesn't match the URL and isn't trusted (I'm using Chrome) Thank you in advance for your answers
