  1. Might not be correct, but I thought this can be done via a third party app called splashtop.

"Good artists copy; great artists steal." -Steve Jobs? Pablo Picasso? T. S. Eliot? W. H. Davenport Adams? Lionel Trilling? Igor Stravinsky? William Faulkner? Apocryphal? Anyway, here's one I 'borrowed'. His name is Limey. ENJOY!!

  6. A Question About EMBY's Genre Sort Order I minor irritation, that I'm hoping someone can help clarify and/or fix.... So I noticed some video genres on the main page (where the artwork, title, synopsis, running time, rating, etc. is displayed) are sorted by what looks to be the main genre then minor genres: ie, Science Fiction, Adventure, Fantasy, Family But most videos are displayed alphabetically: ie, Adventure, Family, Fantasy, Science Fiction My questions: are all genres displayed by the main genre and it is merely coincidence that they are also in alphabetical order? If not, is there a way to make EMBY display the genres by the major genre, then the minor ones (if any) for all videos? Thanks for the help!

Here ya go... The text versions might bump up against the lime tech overlays. Nevertheless, ENJOY!

Ah! I see.... The problem is, the banner is in the background and the lime-tech stuff is overlaid on the banner. Unfortunately, I don't think they have an on/off switch for it and sadly, I don't have any suggestions to offer as a workaround either. fwiw, I think your logo looks nice with the lime-tech overlays.

Are you looking for something like this?
  11. With unRAID 6.4, is it recommended to update all the VirtIO drivers for any existing VMs created back around the release of 6.0? Mine seem to be running fine as is, but I wasn't sure if the newer ones offer better performance or improve something. Thanks.
  12. I'll have to re-examine split level. Mostly, I need to rethink my shares strategy instead of dumping everything into one user share. There's more things scrambled than not, but there are several ways to go about 'defraging' them for sure. It would just be nice to have a utility that could do that so it wasn't a manual process.
  13. I'm somewhat familiar with it, but perhaps not enough. As I understand, even with Split level, folders/files will become fragmented over time as things are deleted and space is freed. Based on the size of new data being moved to the array, there may not be enough room to store everything on a single disk; so at some point when the array starts to get full, Split level will then split it onto 2 or more disks. You are correct that what I was proposing to jbrodriguez is like split level after the fact for situations such as this... or if someone didn't use split level in the first place (yours truly) and would like to get as much things 'unscrambled' as possible. The idea here is it would intelligently 'look' at the folder and depth selected by the user, and move even other data around as necessary to achieve the best fit possible for everything by minimizing splits as much as possible.
  14. Hey jbrodriguez, If you are open to thoughts/ideas on adding features, please consider adding another mode which will auto-magically 'defrag' (for lack of a better term) all the folders based on the starting depth. So it would be like using Gather Mode, but unBalance will take the time to reorder things across all the disks. For example, if a share is spread across 5 disks, it would find where the bulk of the data is and move the data from other drives to that drive. If there isn't enough space, it will figure out the next best place for it, or perhaps it would move other folders around to achieve the best 'defrag' (again, not the right word) option for the share at the starting depth the user selected. Hope this makes sense, it does in my head.
  15. FWIW, I thought it was perfect the way it worked before. IMHO, the folks at unRAID should at least add an option in the display settings to select "fixed", "scaled" or "stretch to fit" on banners. Anyway, do you know if there is a guideline for the ideal dimensions?
  16. It didn't do that in 6.3.5 So we need to re-scale our banners to a larger size?
  17. not sure how to create a shell script, but I'll look around to figure it out and try that...thanks for the tip!
  18. +1 to automatically remove duplicates. Hi, I just discovered your tool and it turns out I have numerous duplicates because one of my disks went off line and emby rebuilt the metadata elsewhere. Because its metadata the filenames match, but they may not match at the binary level. I know which disk contains the duplicate data so it would be great if you could add a switch to your script to specify which disk to remove the duplicate if/when you ever add a delete option to it. Thanks.

    Love it!!
  20. Thanks... I ordered it before the sale deadline; should be here this week!!
  21. Thanks... any particular reason they are recommended over other brands?
  22. Hi Guys, I have an issue with my unRAID that I suspect is related to the PSU and so I'd like to replace it with something that's rugged w/solid (thicker) cables, high grade electronics to provide consistent, even power, etc. I'm willing to buy something top of the line to ensure the PSU won't be a problem going forward. The front page of this thread is from 2011 and I was curious if it has been updated. Is Seasonic still "the best"? I've been looking at the Superflower Leadex Titanium 750W, Seasonic PRIME Ultra 750W Titanium, and CoolerMaster HX750i 750W Gold. All of them look like they'd work for my setup. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
  23. Somewhere I read online an intriguing article about unRAID that was entitled "One Box to Rule Them All" which introduced me to the OS as a solution for my needs. It might be too close to LOTR, but it would be a cool slogan the folks at Lime-Technology to adopt.
