  1. I use Forte Agent for when I actually download headers for newsgroups. Agent has a nice clean interface for organizing all the headers and making it easy to read and download. I switch to Newsbin for Internet searches and downloads as it's just a simple one step process. Yes, I know Sabnzbd is free but I did not know about it when I bought lifetime for Newsbin. I used Usenet for a year and didn't like it because it has painfully slow log in. Very annoying when you're browsing headers and want to see an image before deciding if you want to mark the headers for download. Before Usenet I used Forte's Premium News. It's my favorite but way too expensive at $15/m and with short retention. Log in is instant. Now I use Astraweb which has the same fast log in with same retention as all the other major servers now.
  2. Thanks for the explanations prostuff1 & Joe L. Since I can't do anything about it, I'll take both your advice and just go with it.
  3. I have three 2 TB HDs connected to AOC-SASLP-MV8. The order from AOC is: 0: Hitachi 2TB 1: Hitachi 2TB 2: Samsung 2TB When I boot into Unraid and tries to assign the drives, the pulldown menu lists the HDs in reverse order as I listed below. sdb: Samsung sdc: Hitachi sdd: Hitachi Is there a reason why Unraid chose it this way? I would like to have my HD order the way AOC configures it. I want my 1st Hitachi HD as parity then followed by the data drives. That way all the data drives will be in sequence with no break in between as a parity drive. Thanks Paul.
  4. Doh! I had forgotten I read about that while learning how to build an Unraid server this past couple weeks. Thanks again for the quick explanation.
  5. I'm currently doing simultaneous preclears of 4x 2TB HDs. 2 are Hitachi and the other 2 are Samsung. It's only been around 2 hours 40 minutes and I have already got email notifications that all 4 are already at 50% done. Am I doing something wrong? I have read that it can take up to 24 hours to clear a 2TB drive. Running latest version of Preclear downloaded today from the 1st page of this post. Unraid basic 5.0 beta 6a. Running Screen for multiple clears. Command is "preclear_disk.sh -M 4 -A dev/sdX Thanks, Paul.
