yeah the new usb + new files did work. problem is i dont know which of the files on the usb are corrupted. Is there a tool for that? Karl

Hey, So unraid just made me switched my USB though its relatively new, but anyway before switching unraid can no longer detect my drives for some reason. But now after switching USB, unraid still cant detect any of my drives though they all appear on the dashboard tab. I cant start my array because all of them are not showing up. I really dont know what to now. BTW, this started when i upgraded to Version 7 using the GUI. Although Now I am at 7.0.1 its because unraid asked me to change USB. Hi, Im having a weird problem right now. Drives dying after another. So recently a 6TB of mine died so I replaced it with a 12TB. after probably less than a month the 12TB died and i replaced it with a spare 12TB. But then when I was rebuilding my array a different 10TB died. Im kinda confused if they are really dead drives or just like bad sata cables or connector. Just the coincidence is too much. Hey Guys, So I kinda found myself in an odd stupid situation. It all started when i bought 2x14tb hard drives locally online. I didnt know they were fake later on and didnt know fake hard drive existed till i experienced them. anyway so i added the 14tb to the parity (solo) and it went fine (yes it actually succeeded). now the 2nd drive i didnt use and just wanted to have it for spare. but after a few months one of the drive actually died which was a great opportunity for me to use the spare 14tb, so i swapped out the dead 3tb with the 14tb. upon rebuild the drive failed, so i thought oh ok the drive must have been faulty. i didnt have time to fix the problem right away because of work. but long story short, my unraid server emulated the missing drive which was great no lost data. after some time, while emulated, i decided to move the files from the emulated drive to my other drives because by this i already found out my "broken" 14tb was fake and i thought oh ok i probably got lucky on the other one. anyway this setup ran for months, then i noticed the server has repopulated the emulated drive with significant data even though i already moved/cleared them. then ofcourse my luck ran out as my parity now are showing errors, not alot but its there and the emulated drive has become an unsupported drive/unmountable/no file system. i know im already screwed but the files in my server are just movies so no big deal. but is there anyway i can recover the corrupted emulated drive? i already have a 12tb drive, but my problem is i forgot i tried to add the 14tb to the dead drive, and now unraid only wants 14tb or higher. is the corrupted emulated drive cannot be retrievable at this point? do i just make a new config so i can add the 12tb to my pool? then ultimately replace my fake 14tb parity drive soon? thanks for the advice if any. Hey! My server has been stable for a few years till my USB drive died. So I replaced that and now every few days it crashes. I do have 1 dead drive that needs to be replaced. Its just a bit expensive right now since its a 14tb. I do have one here but the system wont accept it, not sure if its the sas im using or it is indeed corrupted. sobnology-diagnostics-20240805-0805.zip

parity check failed in a few minutes. server froze. so i just replaced all rams with new ones now. hopefully that fixes the problem.

2 of my rams are having errors and already removed. checking parity again now.

So I have redid this 3 times. Once I start the array it runs ok for a few hours (2-3) then ultimately freezes. Sometimes the docker apps are still accessible but the unraid gui is not. Then later on everything just dies. With some random stuff on the screen. I used to have a mellanox 10g sfp+ card but already removed it. sobnology-diagnostics-20220625-1208.zip

this is actually a 4tb cache drive (not ssd). and the 2 shares that are missing are supposed to use the said drive for cache.

just noticed 2 of my shares went missing. thats actually where this all started. shares missing.

Hey guys, I was wondering why my parity-check is freezing at 50+%? Ive already dont this 3 times already and it just freezes there. The ETA just doesnt update anymore as well. So im stuck. sobnology-diagnostics-20220606-1942.zip

Things I did which has contributed to solving whatever problems i was encountering -changed usb -upgraded to a beta version of unraid (because i had a feeling that my existing unraid was corrupt) -upgraded firmware for both my LSI cards (9211 & 9207) -switched one of my drives with a new one -check for errors on all drives -scrub my cache

Due to lots of crashes, my drives started dying i dont even have a good parity now because i did a new config.

darn thats gonna takke a long time. did a last resort kinda thing. I updated my unraid to beta version. then i just found out that one of my lsi cards didnt update. need to update it if my server crashes again.

updated the LSI cards. unraid still crashing. guess its time to change the board.
