Need a hand figuring out what I broke
Mandatory info: Version: 6.12.0-rc2 Dumped all plugins that were causing display issues. Tried to set up NVidia in plex again since it seemed to not work after update (Most likely I messed it up somehow) Tried dropping back to Intel iGPU instead (Also doesn't work), now Nvidia card is no longer seen. One core (c12 & ht13) are always pegged at 100% no matter what. Litany of errors that are repeated but I am entirely unsure how to approach fixing after much Google-Fu. Attached are my Diags. Thanks in advance all. tower-diagnostics-20230327-1625.zip

Tainted Kernel and other errors
Hey everyone, I updated the server to the newest Version: 6.12.0-rc1. That part seemed to work out decently. There are some issues, however. Fix Common Problems takes about ten minutes to run a check now, where before it took at most one minute. Clicking the Apps tab takes a full minute to load and same for changing categories or search terms. Post upgrade, the information for things on the page is always expanded and can not be altered. Items on the Dashboard page can not be collapsed as the option is no longer there and the layout is broken looking. Plex Streams Plugin is broken. Dynamix Fan plugin is broken as well and was prior to the upgrade. It won't load any drivers and so my server keeps running hot since I have no control over the fans. If anyone could offer some help with these things I would appreciate it. Diagnostics attached. tower-diagnostics-20230317-2046.zip

Anyone know how to make this a Docker so we can use it?
https://github.com/debauchee/barrier It allows you to use your mouse and KB across OSes. I have seen it working with Windows going across to Mac and ProxMox and various Linux flavors. I would love to be able to use it with Unraid as well. Any input is appreciated.

Really Nervous about moving UNraid to new hardware. Help and instruction appreciated!
Any chance I could get some insight from someone who understand this? I had a rock solid setup before migrating things tot he new case and hardware, I would like to be there again if possible. Sorry for being so needy. I am beyond frustrated. I fried a motherboard and 64Gb of ECC RAM and the i7 proc in a literally new build because I accidentally grabbed power cables from the wrong box. Used the Corsair cables instead of the SeaSonic as I should have and just wrecked the whole kit. -,- Then also had a 120mm Corsiar AIO shit the bed. This has not been my day/ tower-diagnostics-20221205-0452.zip

qemu unexpectedly closed the monitor
Did you ever have any luck with this? I am running in to the same exact issue. In my case it happens whether I try to run Win10/11 or Steam OS so far. I would really like to get this sorted as well.

I also cant launch any of my dockers now. I recreated the docker and then added plex and that fails to work properly as well. It now opens where previously it just kept saying "Error something server error" so at least now it loads. just feeling more and more that this can i'm into is full of worms. Here are diags in case that can help anyone. tower-diagnostics-20221201-0805.zip

Well, I moved everything over and it's mostly ok. I added the 2x1tb drives as a cache pool then restarted and ran ran parity. All is well and I have no idea why but the parity check that used to take literally 2.5 entire days to complete was finished in 22 hours. No idea why, but still, awesome. 👍 Having trouble getting unRAID to boot up from the USB even though everything is set in BIOS. Would plugging it in to a port on the I/O panel cause this as it is no longer running direct from the motherboard like it was? This board doesn't have an onboard USB like the old server board did. I did try running a pice to USB adapter but the BIOS never saw it so perhaps that adapter is faulty. Should I nuke my old vms? I attempted to run one of my windows 10 VMs and it locked the system necessitating a hard power off. Not sure if there is a conflict happening but maybe I'm better off just starting over. I look forward to your responses. 🙂

Really Nervous about moving UNraid to new hardware. Help and instruction appreciated!
Almost 100% ready to get started but having worries about ruining things. Going from a Dual Xeon SUpermicro x9drf board and supermicro 4u 24 bay case to an Fractal Define 7 XL with an Asus motherboard running an i9 12900k. I have currently a 1tb ssd cache drive and 2 parity drives and 3 data drives (all 16tb) In the new setup I have 1x2tb m.2 and 2x1tb m.2 and then the current rives once they get moved. My goal is to have my UNraid setup remain as it is and then have my current windows 10 install as a vm. I have seen a few things about running windows baremetal but loaded through a vm and it interests me as I could be rid of another machine running and taking electricity. If anyone could give any advice or a list of what I should do for order of operations I would be grateful. *ETA Running UNraid 6.11.5 Have fully licensed Windows 10 Have documented drive assignments Would like to perhaps have a second pool with the 1tb m.2 drives. ?

6.10.0 - access issues
I followed the advice to use the UD to make a share. This is what happens "Jun 7 22:33:35 Tower unassigned.devices: SMB default protocol mount failed: 'mount error: could not resolve address for SHADOW-PC: Unknown error '. Jun 7 22:33:35 Tower unassigned.devices: SMB 3.1.1 mount failed: 'mount error: could not resolve address for SHADOW-PC: Unknown error '. Jun 7 22:33:35 Tower unassigned.devices: SMB 3.0 mount failed: 'mount error: could not resolve address for SHADOW-PC: Unknown error '. Jun 7 22:33:35 Tower unassigned.devices: SMB 2.0 mount failed: 'mount error: could not resolve address for SHADOW-PC: Unknown error '. Jun 7 22:33:35 Tower unassigned.devices: SMB 1.0 mount failed: 'mount error: could not resolve address for SHADOW-PC: Unknown error '." Windows now actually sees the unraid server Unraid sees my windows machine and finds it instantly when creating the share. I am lost as to what I am doing incorrectly here.

6.10.0 - access issues
So smb-extra should be blank? Also, forgive my ignorance but what is "UD"? *edit Unassigned Devices. Massive I feel like an idiot moment. sorry! I created and mounted a root share and a user share this morning. It didn't work so I deleted them. I apologize for being unclear in my description.

6.10.0 - access issues
SMB is currently disabled as my wife is watching a show so I can't stop the server immediately. I did, however, try it earlier today and it seems like no matter what I do I can not see the server from my windows machine. I made a user share via unassigned devices, rootshare as well, neither were seen by windows. I even wen't so far as to try a fresh windows install on my main machine this morning and still no luck. I have been banging my head against a wall trying to get something that used to work perfectly to just... work. Also if I could request again "the default SMB Extras configuration as I accidentally deleted it and I would like it back to "stock", that would be much appreciated. Also @dlandon thank you for the various useful and neat dockers you have made. tower-diagnostics-20220606-1522.zip

6.10.0 - access issues
I was using a rootshare based on the guide on youtube from InvaderOne. I only used it to move tv shows and movies across the unraid server itself from my main windows PC onto the server. It also allowed me quick access to the files for things like adding subs or deleting them all together should I want to. I tried using the unassigned devices method after you mentioned it but I still can not get it working. Do I need to enable/disable SMB for it to operate? Could you paste in the default SMB Extras configuration as I accidentally deleted it and I would like it back to "stock" if possible. Thanks in advance.

6.10.0 - access issues
Most everything seems to work as it should again with me once again having access to the command line, so I marked it as solved. I still can not access the network share I created and as such my media streaming setup is now entirely broken. If you have any ideas to get that sorted, I would be grateful. That aside, thank you so much for your time and your assistance.

6.10.0 - access issues
It seems there is another issue since downgrading back to 6.9.2 http://tower.local:8008/Dashboard is how I got in I am no longer able to access the command line. I tried going in to tolls and disabling it and then re-enabling it but am having no luck. I did remove a large amount of plugins and dockers as per your recommendation. Will attempt a reboot and see what happens. The nvidia driver thing is supposedly used in order to see what my card is doing on the dash when Plex is handling transcodes. If it can continue to do so without it, I will happily remove it. Post reboot I am still unable to access the command line though I did access the server with WinSCP to manually remove the file you mentioned. No access from within UNraid itself tower-diagnostics-20220521-2022.zip

6.10.0 - access issues
After the upgrade I can no longer log in via the ip address any longer only tower.local:8008 Any attempt to log in as it was prior to the upgrade to rc10 is met with a 404 from nginx Also my rootshare is not accessible from windows any longer. Windows sees "Tower" but will not allow access. I have tried everything in the troubleshooting threads related to these things and used the manual to attempt to sort the nginx issue but have made literally zero headway. Any help in getting this resolved is very much appreciated. ETA I downgraded back to 6.9.2 again from rc10 and the issues seem to be persistent where I had zero issues before. tower-diagnostics-20220520-2013.zip tower-diagnostics-20220510-2249.zip

[support] Spants - NodeRed, MQTT, Dashing, couchDB
Any chance you would be able to point me to a solid resource on getting MQTT talking to another docker then?

[support] Spants - NodeRed, MQTT, Dashing, couchDB
Thanks for the quick reply. I was actually able to do it much more simply. I went in to CMD then MC and then into the MQTT directory and used ```touch passwords.txt``` to create the file then I edited it and saved and restarted the docker. So, that worked. However, I can not for the life of me get MQTT to actually contol what is happening in Homeassistant. Using MQTTfx, I can see that both the HA docker and the MQTT docker are talking to each other as evidenced by me hitting a switch to activate a device from within HA. The input is shown in MQTT.fx but there is no actual state change for the device I am trying to control. Very odd. By state change, I mean the physical device does not actually respond in any way, ie. turn on/off.

[support] Spants - NodeRed, MQTT, Dashing, couchDB
I am also trying to get MQTT working in Homeassistant and can not seem to do it. I have it working perfectly on my Pi3 but in my UNraid docker it refuses to work. Also, since my install is in appdata/mqtt/ I can not run dockersafe new permissions. Which is rough because I also can not see any files inside that directory even though it is shared. If I use MC, I can see everything but I don't know enough to get in and create the new file for passwords in there. Any assistance would be appreciated.

[SUPPORT] pihole for unRaid - Spants repo
OK I got into it via MC and it shows 192.168.1/255.255.255.0 after LAN networks bandwidth? it's a bit hard to read in there.

[SUPPORT] pihole for unRaid - Spants repo
It won't let me access it. let me try from MC.
