  1. Awesome, thanks! Our lady co-hosts will have a fun time sending shouts out to... sparklyballs. Enjoy the show! Don't feed the ...
  2. Looks like there are others on the forum using that or something similar. Maybe try plugging it in again?
  3. Beginning to sound like a hardware problem. What is the exact model of your power supply? Did you ever take the time to run an extended memory test?
  4. USB3 is unlikely to have any effect on responsiveness since the flash drive is only accessed when you save changes in the webGUI. Everything is actually loaded and running in RAM.
  5. Yes, this would be a good time to upgrade parity. No, you never format the parity drive, since it doesn't have a filesystem. Also, it would be a good idea to preclear the new parity drive just for testing purposes. Technically, only a drive added to a new data slot must be clear, but everyone tests a new drive with preclear anyway. Be sure to use the latest version of the preclear script. An older version will not work with v6 and large drives.
  6. Post a screenshot. Not related, but something you might clean up Jun 8 20:34:34 Archive logger: plugin: installing: /boot/config/plugins/dynamix.plg Jun 8 20:34:34 Archive logger: plugin: not installing older version
  7. It is attached. 42% done and seems to be working fine, but for whatever reason I never had a problem with parity checks. It would freeze afterwards. There are 128 sync errors and that seems very atypical when I think historically. Since the freezes I've had a ton of sync errors whereas before I would rarely have them and if I did there were only one or two. I don't know if that information means anything, but I just thought I would mention it. I typically have zero, and I think any at all should be investigated. An unclean shutdown is a likely cause. In fact, this is why an unclean shutdown automatically starts a correcting parity check. Your syslog shows that you have booted in SAFE mode, so that is working now. And it shows it started a correcting parity check due to an unclean shutdown, followed by a lot of messages about correcting parity. So, all seems to be as expected for now.
  8. Never heard of that brand and nothing comes up on google. Are you sure you have spelled it correctly? A brand name is not really enough information anyway, which is why I asked for a specific model. Is there any model number anywhere you could give us?
  9. See here and search tips in my sig.
  10. I think so. 92 Mb/Sec at the moment. I certainly hope I can grab the syslog, but within the 4 previous times it failed this past week it truly froze and I couldn't get to anything. Once I rebooted the syslog appeared fresh again. Shouldn't the log files be saved somewhere in the event something like this happens? Go ahead and get a syslog now and post it. It may or may not tell us anything.
  11. Is the parity check progressing at a reasonable speed? If you have any more problems be sure to get a syslog.
  12. Did you run make_bootable.bat as administrator? Try deleting the syslinux file in the root and do make_bootable again.
  13. I do the opposite. My unRAID gets its time from internet, and my PC gets its time from unRAID.
  14. I had this (or something similar) happen to me on my ESXi boot flash. It worked but was unable to save VM configurations. Rebooted and the flash drive was gone and my unRAID Flash drive booted. Spent about 2 hours setting up ESXi again on a new flash drive. Maybe it's something to do with the fact that my flash drive is USB 2.0 and it's plugged into a USB 3.0 port. I know there are sometimes issues with USB 3.0 and ESXi. I've got a new Cruzer fit that is 3.0 so I'll swap that one in there after work and see what happens. I think even on bare-metal there have been reports of boot problems from a USB3 port.
  15. Maybe upgrade to unRAID v6 so you can use Unassigned Devices and plug in a 200GB SSD.
  16. For 3 drives you could have a configuration of 128 + 128 + 256 = 256. Each of the 128 drives has its data duplicated on the 256 drive. Yes, that is what the calculator says also.
  17. I don't see it mentioned in this thread so far, but once everything is going again, you will have to go to Tools - New Permissions to get all your files/folders ownership/permissions set to conform with unRAID v5/6.
  18. It's not uppercase i, but lowercase L. Also, everything in linux is case-sensitive.
  19. Good to have spare drives, but it is beginning to sound like drives are not your problem. I assume you reseated the controller. Do you have spare ports you could use to try and isolate the problem?
  20. You should be able to get the syslinux files from the latest v5 download. If you open up the zip you can see where they belong on your flash. You will probably also have to copy the make_bootable and run it. The point to running in SAFE mode is to skip installation of all addons. You can accomplish the same thing by simply renaming the extra, plugins, and config/plugins folders. If any of these don't exist that's OK. And also rename the config/go file and get the one from the zip file instead.
  21. Are you sure you don't have a networking issue?
